“Cosy and near amenities”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

This is a very cosy hotel which is located near amenities such as convenient stores, eateries(KFC, Macdonalds, starbucks) and supermarket. The nearest metro station, XinBeiTou, is located approximately 10mins away. For those who drive, the hotel offers free valet parking. It also provides daily breakfast which consists of taiwan porridge and western choices such as toast bread, scrambled eggs and ham. The room is clean and spacious. White mineral hot spring water flows to the bathroom where you can soak yourself in the bathtub.

We stayed here for 3 nights. After that we left the hotel with several dozens of bedbug bites. The room we stayed in was 306, which was the most expensive one according to the hotel's website.

The breakfast was far from delicious. The room smelled terrible. And the facilities are old and some of which are even out of order.

Don't choose this place!

We had a lovely time here, the room was small but the bathtub was HUGE and the air conditioning was strong which was good because you will need it because the enormous bath in the small space gives off an enormous amount of heat. The buffet breakfast was fresh and had huge selection.

I have a couple of gripes with the hotel which I will share. The reception could speak enough English to check you in and tell you what time breakfast was ect but had difficulty explaining whether they had a laundry service available or would they mind directing you to a laundromat.

Also our room did not have a mini fridge. Lucky there are two 24 hour convenience stores just underneath the hotel so you can get fresh cold drinks relatively easily.

Room Tip: The room we had was #352 it was very close to the dining room so you could here lots of people walki...

The entrance of the hotel is not so obvious, the reception is very small. to my surprise because it is very weird that this hotel's check in time is very late so we had our dinner outside first but when we arrived at 8pm, the room is not yet ready because they said we are late and it is a Sunday, so I said so what if it is a Sunday, they rented out the place for short period, so asked as to go at the resto to wait for it to be cleaned. We went to the resto with all our stuff and just to be instructed to go back to 2nd flr as the room is now ready. hello! is this what you call reservation.

The good thing with this hotel is only the location and true, there is a hotspring tub inside the room but looks and feels like it is a boiled water and diluted.

The location of the hotel is excellent : next to the Xinbeitou MRT station. Bathroom is large and hotspringwater is available. Clean rooms and very friendly staff. Breakfast is good but aimed more at Chinese customers (not European style). But alternatives are available abundantly in the direct neighbourhood : a lot of small and good restaurants a few meters away.

Ok place to stay. Needs a face lift like the Front entrance which looks newly renovated. The entrance misleads you into thinking the hotel is nicer then what it is. Bed and pillows were comfy buy hallways and rooms smelled musty. Front counter staff we rude and unfriendly, they had a unusual policy that they require your room key back when you left for the day... We refused which made the tension rise. Price was cheap compared to the others in the area.

I want to add alittle insight to our stay in Xinbeitou. We decided to stay in Xinbeitou for the last 4 days of our trip in taipei. We took the Mrt to Xinbeitou and spent the afternoon walking and exploring the sites and hotels. We were confident that we would find something as there are a lot of hotels in the area. We looked at alot of them...

The hotels that were not already booked up would not rent us a room for more than 2 consecutive days... We decided to book 2 separate hotels and moved all our luggage. Normally that wouldn't be an issue but check out is 11:00am and check in is 8:00 pm which left us with the challenge of figuring out where we would store our luggage. We found out later that the reason for the late check in is that the hotels in this area will rent the rooms out in 1-2 hour time slots(for obvious reasons) between 11:00 and 8:00 pm for extra money.

the hotel is just a minute walk away from xinbeitou station and it is surrounded by a lot of 24-hour food outlets. it is also a good location to visit yangmingshan as the bus-stop to take the bus up the place is just outside the hotel. the room is clean and i do love the privacy of having a hotspring bath in the room. however, the walls are not really sound-proof so you can hear conversations from the room next door. other than that, i will recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit places in the beitou area.
