Need another quick turnaround and a meeting in the Zhonshan district. Hotel is located at the corner of the street but Taxi drivers are familiar with the area. If in doubt, just show them thte address and its near the Imperial hotel. Rooms are clean and bed is firm. Everything works but wished they had power outlets near the bed as I had to charge the phone near the TV. At this rate, its pretty decent. Breakfast that comes with the rate is very traditional ie porridge and chinese dishes. Do not expect any American style sausages and eggs. Convenience stores are nearby and if you walk about 200, you get to experience a small night market where you can get street food.

Room Tip: No wfi so bring good to buy the 3 day unlimited data plan with a local prepaid sim and tether. AC ca...

Despite the low ranking, this hotel is pretty decent. Bathroom was large (mine was business), room was quiet with little disturbances. Nice LCD screen TV with various channels (but mostly in chinese). Sheets and bed were very clean. Only drawback would be the distance to the train station, but it's manageable. Many convenience stores nearby. I think I liked the bathroom best.

I and my fiance booked this budget hotel but upon arrival, it seems that it wasmote than our expectation. Friendly staffs, cozy environment and spacious room with complete amenities.

The walking distance to the Ming Quan and Yuan Shan nearest MRT took around 15 mins which we found that it's a little bit far from the hotel. But along the way, there are shops along the street and couple of restaurants. As a first time traveler to Taipei, we manage to find the location and the MRT...the location not too bad.

Think the hotel should change their buffet breakfast menu which there are limited dishes to eat especially they had porridge and pickled vege for breakfast???? Something that they really need to look into...More variety of food will be more appealing.

The building outlook, lobby, other common areas are good, smart, bright. Room spacious with adequate provisions, clean but the toilet room has a strong musty smell. I suspect the smell comes from the bathtub curtain. Staff polite. Buffet breakfast does not have so many choices and may not be suitable for westerners, however it doesn't bother me as there are too many delicious local food and snacks outside in Taipei waiting for me.

Price is relatively good in Taipei (around 1800), but location is not so good. It takes 15 minutes walking to the nearest underground station.

Its really a nice hotel with excellent service. Nothing much to talk about facilities except free internet and wifi, but the place is really clean, with friendly helpful staffs. Personally I found the taiwanese breakfast to my liking, with vegetarian dishes and also some continental stuff. Ginding coffee machine to serve coffee, so no complains. They even got free adult channels but the downside is, i did not get much sleep as some inconsiderate buffoon turn on the volume of some screaming japanese porn at about 3-4 am in the morning. As the walls were relatively thin, with speakers and music pipe in through the ceiling, neigbours can here mostly everything coming out from the TV. I make complain to the reception at 4 am and they really came up to tell the other room to keep it down. Thats some good service from the hotel. The real setback is the location where u need to walk about 15 mins to the nearest Metro station. Or take a taxi ride to the metro which will cost 70 taiwan dollar.

We had planned for 9 days in Taiwan, with the first few nites spent with Silken, then one other nite in between in Hualien and remaining with Silken. As we had to return to Singapore in the middle of the trip due to a family emergency, we returned to Silken Taipei from Hualien to catch the flight, and advised Silken that we need to cancel 3 rooms for 3 nites, but requested for 1 available room for us to repack our luggage (left at Silken hotel lobby) for an hour. As Silken was unable to advise if we could get any refund, we called hotelclub for cancellation and was told that no refund will be made, which we were fine with it and cancelled 2 rooms to minimize Silken's preparation.
However, upon arrival, as we had too much stuff and too little time to pack for the 5 of us, we had requested for 3 rooms instead, thinking we had already paid for it and for 3 nites. Silken refused our request and insisted on charging us for the additional 2 rooms, saying that they had received a prior cancellation request.

This is indeed ridiculous, we had paid for 3 rooms for 3 nites, which we were only requesting for use of 3 rooms for an hour and were refused and had to pay additional charges. As we were in a rush of time, we had to give in, and requested for a bigger room instead but was again refused by Silken.

I would say the hotel staff are very inflexible and always quoting other websites for additional requests, which I find it totally senseless as I expect the hotel staff to see to my requests directly.

Inconvenient location, had to take cabs most of the times, which add on to the costs, also located in the red-light district, not recommended for gals-only group.

We had stayed on the 2nd floor, which was really noisy with the hotel staff going in and out of the rooms and chatting next door. Also, the window was left open when we got in, even after them, the mosquitoes were already led into the room, resulted in us getting mosquito bites all over during our sleep.

I got to stay 2 nights in Silken hotel last year. it was a bit difficult to find basing on the address (rode a cab to find it) since it was located in a corner.
there had been some minor misunderstanding about my room reservation which had me a bit off. other than that, i was glad some staff can speak in english so i'm able to ask for directions.
the room was larger than i expected and the bathroom was nice and clean.
breakfast was buffet but with limited food choices. having the same choices for both mornings however, made me not want to eat.
i think there were some bus stop relocations during my stay so when i tried to go to taipei arena to watch the concert i went there for, i ended up looking for another bus stop instead, other than the one pointed to me by the staff.
