“Damp and cold”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. It is right in the heart of all of the touristy stuff in Taipei and close to lots of places to eat.

The eighth floor room we had was very small and damp. The room was under an eave and felt very cramped. The windows were covered in permanent condensation and the air conditioning was on constantly. We had no control over the a/c, as it was run centrally. The bathroom was OK, though the shower was walled off and you had to climb up and over into it - very strange and a little hazardous. The floor of the room was a little dirty and did not get cleaned at any point during our stay. On the last day we came back to find that the cleaner had forgotten to lock our door after leaving. The door itself had a clear two inch gap between it and the floor, so the smell of smoke and the noise made by other guests came into the room.

There were huge numbers of tour groups, so the lift was out of action many times and actually broke on us once. The doors had a tendency to quickly shut and hit you.

Breakfast was a travesty. Bad smelling noodles, vegetables and cheapy white toast. We didn't bother going down after the first morning. I have lived in China and Hong Kong for quite some time and this is one of the worst I have seen.

The staff were also clueless. They seemed not to know anything of the local area and were unable to help in most situations. They also enforce a very strange 3 pm check in time, so don't arrive earlier than then. They charge 3,600 NT a night for the room we had at full price (we actually came on a deal), which is basically extortion.

Don't bother - go somewhere else.

Rooms are spacious and although it is not a flat screen TV on the wall, and comfortable. What authority or Japanese broadcasting stations were able also. It also has plenty of the shower was very happy. As well as those of the glass to take a bath? I agree with that, it is difficult to use and you were in my room is particularly can be used without any problem. The nearest train station West gate is a very high degree of convenience Station were great. The first is the way to the station and we felt like we were difficult to understand, but once you get used to it was not a big deal. In addition to attractions, the Lungshan Temple, I think it's within walking distance. (male college students at the foot of 25 minutes walk through the breakfast . steamed bread other than to say it was not. There is situated, so buying something I think is better. just next door to the 24-Hour supermarket, such as food. drinks and snacks are abundant. Very well located in hotel.

Stayed there on 11 to 15 May with spouse and daughter (triple sharing room)
You can forget about the breakfast, tried on the first day and thereafter, no more breakfast at the hotel for us.
My other gripe was the short flight of stairs up towards the lobby . It almost gave me a hernia tugging the shopping laden lugguages on our return trip.
Other than that can't complain much as it's about 10 mins walk to XMD shopping belt.

Great experience. Was apprehensive before going as the online reviews were not that good... however the actual experienced proved otherwise.

Clean & Comfortable... Daily change of towels. Standing shower which is great as I don't like bathtubs... Minus point is there is no shower curtain.

All the necessary stuff - hairdryer/TV/safe/fridge etc are provided and working fine. In the lobby, there is a station with internet access for some quick online stuff need to do while overseas...

Aircon was just nice, not too cold and not noisy. Comfortable bed & warm blanket... great for the cold weather...

Breakfast is almost the same daily... porridge with some dishes... not too tasty but okay to fill the stomach. And they have soup...

Does not look very attractive outside the hotel and no nice scenery from window. But it is quite convenient... there is a 頂好 convenience nearby... walk to Ximending is ok also... though not as near as some other hotels... But overall it's great! No complain..

My family and I stayed there December 2006. We stayed 1 night and promptly left the next morning. The whole place looked like a whorehouse. Smelly, mouldy... my daughter got bitten by bugs on the bed. The bathroom was dirty, with broken shower curtain... Really one of the worst hotel I have been in. I came back and complained to the agent so much that he was forced to give donations to charity as compensation to me.
