Ambience is a great little boutique hotel. The staff are great, they are very friendly, extremely helpful and accommodating. They are a great bunch! The room we stayed in is a corner room (Elite). It's unexpectedly larger than we expected, very spacious, clean, and it has all the basic amenities that guests need. The bathroom has a shower booth and a big bath tub(I loved it!). It's not that far from Songjiang Nanjing MRT station, you can get to a few famous night markets in less than 15 minutes by MRT or taxis. You can take the 5201 Evergreen airportbus from Taoyuan airport (it takes about 75 minutes), get off at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, then you can walk to Ambience, it takes around 5 minutes. You can wait at the same bus stop for the same bus to go to the airport.
I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely stay at this hotel again ^^

I stayed here for 4 nights and found it to be excellent value for money. The staff are all extremely friendly and were very helpful in providing all kinds of information. Rooms are surprisingly spacious with big bathrooms and lots of living space. The free mini bar was also an unexpected bonus. I found the breakfast more than adequate and their was plenty of choice to suit all palates.

The location is handy for getting anywhere in Taiwan, Songjiang Nanjing station is under 10 mins walk away and the Eva Air airport bus stop is even closer, though I would recommend just taking a taxi as it's not that much more expensive and takes half the time.

Overall this is a very friendly, clean hotel in a good location for exploring Taipei and its surrounding area.

Ambience suited our purposes for a long weekend away with friends. The rooms were clean and functional (the basic ones are tiny, so it's worth going for the deluxe ones with king beds), however the hotel rather ironically lacks atmosphere. Everything is clinically white and austere.

The breakfast is simple but plentiful. The food is sometimes odd (cold potato salad with hundreds-and-thousands sprinkles), and heavily skewed towards Chinese palettes (think garlic-fried vegetables and gongbao chicken) but all-day snacks and coffee was a nice touch.

Service was very good, except the one day when they forgot to clean our rooms. We learned it pays to remind the front desk as you're leaving for the day.

The location is great for taxis (5 min to Taipei station, 10 min to Xinyi, Ximending) but a solid 10 min walk to the nearest MRT station. Taxis are cheap, plentiful and very helpful so we found ourselves just using them.

The live violinist at breakfast was a nice touch but was only there on one of our three mornings (Saturday). Given he's much-hyped this was a surprise.

The bed was super soft and excellent.

Room Tip: High-floor rooms have good views.

We booked this hotel on the basis of the other reviews on we were not disappointed. I work outside of UK and therefore have become an 'expert' on service and this hotel beats all I have stayed in before. The staff could not do enough for you, regularly checking in an unobtrusive manner to see your days itinerary was OK, and then interested on your return. We have never stayed in a hotel when they tell you on your departure to call them if you have any problems. Rooms spotlessly clean and bright. Breakfast is like a gourmet menu (and I'm not on commission)

I have made several visits to the Ambience in recent years and always enjoyed them. The Elite rooms are spacious, with very comfortable queen-size beds, rain showers and a bath. On my last visit, I was upgraded to a corner room in another category. But I found the noise from the adjoining room very loud (walls too thin, unfortunately) and was glad to be 'downgraded' the follow day. In-room snacks are complimentary, as are tea and cakes in the coffee shop in the afternoon.

For price and friendliness, the Ambience is hard to beat. Unlike some other reviewers, though, I find the breakfast options disappointing. That may be my fault as I usually only arrive around 09:45 before the buffet finishes at 10:00. I also dislike the 'live' violin music which is played on some mornings. The violinist plays well, but with hard surfaces on walls, floor and ceiling, the noise is too loud for what I feel should be a quiet breakfast time. But other guests seem to enjoy it - and it's an easy walk to a nearby Starbucks with its fresh juice and muffins.

Six of us stayed here from August 1-8, 2014. This rates as one of the top hotels in the world in terms of service, in my experience. Even though this is a 3 star property, the service is better than most 5 star properties. I would say, the service is comparable to the 7 star, Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok.
The rooms are comfortable and super clean. Room service and house keeping are very prompt. The staff are simply awesome. The reception and restaurant staff deserve special mention. F and B staff member Candy made our mornings great with her warm smile and hot chocolate milk for everyone. The entire staff were extremely polite and accommodating. All sorts of requests, at all hours were handled with utmost care and professionalism.
One of the members of our group, said that the place felt like home. I guess nothing more needs to be said. I would recommend this place to anyone without second thought.

My wife and I stayed at Ambience about a month ago. As previous reviewers have stated, the staff is hip, polite, caring and efficient.
Just a tip...we took the airport evergreen shuttle to the Evergreen Laurel Hotel and walked to Ambience... No problem!
To top everything off, the found out that I was celebrating my birthday while there. The surprised us with a knock on the door and a beautiful cake from one of the best bakeries in Taipei.
Like I said...they do it well!
