“from good to bad”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

ive stayed at the queens garden resort 20 times as a stop over for 1 night . when i first stayed there in 2008 it was a pleasant and clean hotel good speaking reception staff and maids did keep the hotel rooms very clean. but have just returned from bangkok on the 12/02/12 and my experience this trip with the queens garden will never stay there again.
everytime i travel into bkk i have to phone hotel for pickup to hotel cannot find staff waiting for me at airport . this trip they had me waiting in airport 55mins so i had to get taxi meter to hotel. which i complained to the reception staff and was like talking to a stone wall all i got sorry sir. room air conditioning was leaking water all the time and had to use towels to dry floor reported to hotel reception and all i got was i will phone man to fix never came. on leaving the hotel in there shuttle there driver told my wife in thai as my wife is a thai national that every room the same water leaking from air condtioner and the big boss japanese company that own queens garden will not spend money on the hotel so many employess leave as have problem with customers complaining often about the condition of the hotel. me personally i have seen every time i travelled to the queens garden differant staff faces . i will not be staying there again .pity good location and shame gone down hill.

Room Tip: choose a differant hotel

A very good location to the airport. The hotel has a shuttle to take you too and from. The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable. The hotel is on a canal. It was interesting watching all the monks come across the bridge in the morning.

A good overnight hotel for Bangkok airport. It's convenient for the airport, a taxi or the shuttle take less than 10 minutes.
The staff are friendly and helpful and importantly seem to be available 24 hours. The rooms we stayed in could do with some redecoration but they were basically clean, functional, air con worked, wi-fi worked. It is under the flight path but the way the rooms are layed out with the shower / toilet and an anti room on the outside with the bedroom inside seemed to cut out a lot of the potential noise..
We stayed on our way into Thailand before flying south. After this stay we decided to book again for the return and extended it for our extra night in Bangkok. It's a 15 minute walk to the airport Express train (City Line) so pretty easy to get to the centre of the city.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as we went to one of the many street vendors with seating just along the road.

Room Tip: The water / river facing rooms do look out over a river and Wat which is quite nice

Its part of a scam from a rep that works at the Airport - dont bother.
Wanted to charge twice as much as advertised, very arrogant reception staff most unhelpful,
Rooms are not as advertised with old run down facilities.
You would only stay here as a last resort if there was nothing except a sleep on a bench seat in teh departure lounge!!!
Booked in - as recomended - then booked out straight away - went to the VISMAYA Hotel instead.

Room Tip: Dont bother

I dont like to be negative about things and try and find good in everything but this place is not nice. I know you get what you pay for but Thailand is relativley inexpensive and you can get good value for a small price. For 25.00 a nite I thought this was decent for an avergae hotel.
Its in a seedy looking area of town, river or no river. Upon check in, the receptionist was nice but she didnt understand any english . We were taken to a room by 2 young men, one who was not friendly at all. I immediatly got a bad feeling, the room seemed clean but it had this horrible smell, between a cheap , bad cleaner smell, cigarettes and soemthing else. The bed as usualy was hard as well as the pillows. The linen on the bed didnt appear to be clean. The room itself was seedy. I asked for another room and tried to explain why, but huge language barrier. I was shown 2 other rooms, both with the same smell. I asked to a refund but because I booked online I had to go thru Agoda. We left immedatly.
Another couple was checking in right after us and they seemed ok with their room.. Guess its all what your used to but we travelled Asia for 3 weeks in different places and this was the worst.

Room Tip: Apparantly they have a newer building with better rooms.

After the cold reception were they had not idea we had paid in advance for two nights we where then taken to another building which they fail to mention when booking ! The restaurant was swamped with mosquitos and the pool table and tv don't work. Our room was not cleaned the aircraft screaming overhead every minute was the icing in the cake.

Never again.

You get what you pay for. If you are looking for a place to crash between flights and don't want to pay the >$130 for the hotel at the airport, you might consider this place. The shuttle was where it was supposed to be. The rooms were clean and the A/C and internet worked. There are two buildings, one on the river and the other about a block away. The phone failed due to overnight flooding. The road between the non-river building was flooded and I had to wade to the other building (and office) to get the shuttle to come pick up my luggage and wife.
We had breakfast at the restaurant-included in our rate. It was cooked to order and ok, not great. There isn't much else around and wandering around the neighborhood didn't look like a good idea.

Room Tip: Get a room in the river front building
