Excellent service, fantastic hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 31 Aug 2012
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The hotel lobby had an amazing smell of essential oils and the welcome drink was delicious. We had mentioned, prior to our arrival, that it was myself and my partners anniversary and therefore were informed of a complimentary upgrade apon arrival. We were upgraded to a very high floor with an amazing view and a quirky round shaped bed. The bathroom had a sliding door so you could enjoy the breathtaking view as you bathed if you wanted to.

Everything was clean and luxurious, right down to the complementary filtered coffee and toiletries. While we were unpacking, a knock came at our door and we were delivered a special anniversary cake, it was a lovely touch. I can't recommend this hotel enough. The hotel was across the road from the famous Patpong and the market is definitely worth checking out and as a typical tourist it was fun to walk past some of the gogo bars whilst doing a bit of shopping. All in all, this is a great hotel in a really lively area of town.

Room Tip: Go for a room on a higher floor to take in the views.

We stay 1 night in this lovely hotel after one week travel in Chiangmai. We did not expect much before arrival since we will fly back home the other day. However, after arrival, we are amazed by the modern design of the lobby. The room is also bright and comfortable. Breakfast is very good. Many stations for hot food and fresh baked bread make our morning a good start. The only downside is the location is not really close sky train. You may also need to pass through the night market when you come back at night. However, it is about 15mins walk. All in all, I will recommend it to anyone who is looking for a modern and chic hotel in Bangkok

As someone who stays 150+ nights per year in hotels, mostly Starwood hotels, I was very happy and comfortable staying at Le Meridien Bangkok twice this past month. Yes, the location is great (very central and we walked to a lot of places, as traffic in Bangkok can be an absolute nightmare); and yes, the room are very cool and stunningly modern; and yes, the spa is cool and the breakfast is good; but honestly it was the staff that impressed me. Very nice, very helpful, and very personable. Great, great place...

This is my 3rd stay at the Le Meridien. The hotel is very well situated for those wanting to visit Silom but it is not far from the shopping at Paragon or MBK. Likewise, it is a short walk to the Skytrain for adventures further afield. Close to everything you need.

The entire hotel is very nicely designed and stylish.

The staff is welcoming and helpful. I did not try the restaurants.

The pool area is small, but nice for a quick swim after a hot day. The gym was on the small size, but hardly used from what I could see.

Room tip: High floors for a spectacular view of Bangkok.

Le Meridien is so well located that the first time we visited Patpong we wondered why we hadn't stayed at that hotel, so on our second visit to Bangkok WE DID! Boy, oh boy that was a nice choice! The deco is nice. Very spacious and welcoming. I really dug that. My room was spacious and I enjoyed how the bathroom had this fancy door that you could open up and see whoever was showering, very romantic! Really clean place, friendly staff!

The location near patpong can be a gift or a curse. Family group, curse. Bachelor friend group, GIFT! If you haven't heard of patpong, google it. There is nothing better than being a minute away from the crazy nightlife of Bangkok. I never tried their buffet breakfast and instead just ordered in, and it was worth the money, which isn't that much money to begin with, as prices in bangkok even for this hotel were low in my opinion. Really fast internet connection too.

The best thing about this hotel is the style, overall and in the rooms. The staff were extremely polite and helpful with everything we needed. The location can be a bit of a problem if you are interested in the major sightseeing spots, which are a long taxi ride away (with the traffic). Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, the neighborhood is rather seedy; but this should be expected if you know you are booking a hotel in Patpong.
