A very modern, interestingly (in a good way) styled/stylish hotel. The location is very close to Patpong, but a fair distance from both Sukhumvit and the Old City, so location may not be ideal - though taxis are of course available (and cheap; go by meter).

Room was very quiet, hotel was very restrained and civilised, despite the near frenzy outside. The upper rooms have great views and the design of the bathroom and the shutters makes the most of the space.

Listen out for the "soundscapes" playing in the lobby and lifts, you may even like them...

Just returned from 3 weeks in Thailand. Spent 3 nights at Le Meridian and can honestly say this was the best hotel out of the 5 we stayed in whlist on holiday there.
The hotel just oozes class and sophistication. Breakfsat was amazing and so was the room.
Paptong night market is across the road but we preferred to travel on the metro to Lamphini station to the much bigger night market there.

Wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel if lucky enough to have the chance & would highly recommend to all.

Le Meridien, Bangkok, was just what we needed. Right in the bustling heart of the city. Modern, efficient, clean and friendly, with all the facilities necessary to make our stay perfect.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. It just oozes class and modern sophistication. I am writing this a while after my stay but I can say that I was very impressed by the service. The lobby staff couldn't have been more helpful. Special mention for the double bed- it was the most comfortable I have slept in anywhere. I wish I could have taken it home- even more comfy than the Tempur Deluxe mattress I have at home. My package was great value for money with a fantastic buffet breakfast included, given it was a five star hotel. I still remember the green tea and coconut bread and the salmon with eggs benedict signature meal.
Location is handy with the Patpong night market just across the road and the Skytrain not too far. Noise was minimal. The only slight disappointment was the room view - no view of the river - just the city, which isn't the most beautiful.
Would definitely stay here if I ever return to Bangkok

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Le Meridien, Bangkok for 5 nights as we were getting an excellent deal of 3000 baht per night plus tax and simply loved it. The hotel has a modern decor, a quiet lounge area, about 5 restaurants and a rooftop pool on the 6th floor. Specially designed ambient music by Henri Scars Struck plays in the common areas, which was quite funny sometimes since it ranged from a Moroccan sounding bazaar to orangutans in a rainforest to crickets in the elevator at night.

The vista room, equivalent to a superior, was huge for the price. About 36 square metres. The bathroom had a tub as well as an amazingly powerful rainshower that I never wanted to get out of.
The rooms come with a lovely french press with Le Meridien's own "Wide Awake" filter coffee that is super delicious and super strong, perfect as a wake up call. The Mini bar has the standard alcohol and mixers that are as over priced as in any five star hotel. We were on the 14th floor and there was a nice view of buildings. I'm sure the higher floors have a better view.

We were handed a complimentary drink voucher each on check in for redemption at their Bamboo chic lounge post 7pm. The place is beautiful, albeit a little quiet and the complimentary drink is not some standard multi coloured concoction. It's anything from a quite extensive menu that they hand you. We had mojitos and liked the place so much, stayed for another round.

My boyfriend tried out the pool, which he said was really nice, the area being quite cool and was bowled over by the complimentary steam rooms in the spa. He described them as space capsules where you are given your own private steam room with your own key.

Do not let the hotel location opposite Patpong be a deterrent to you staying here. Patpong area is a relatively tame tourist attraction now. You can walk down the night market after dark and barely see anything unless you want to go into one of the special bars and see a "Ping Pong" show.

My boyfriend did get solicited a few times when walking 5 steps ahead of me or when alone, for a "massage" or a "foam bath!!!" but a simple "no thank you" was sufficient for them to move to the next person. Thai people are very sweet, accommodating and not in the least bit belligerent. Compared to Sukhumwit, Patpong area was kindergarten. The hotel is a ten minute taxi ride away from the river, Mandarin Oriental etc and a fifteen minute taxi ride away from all the malls and barely a four minute walk to the Skytrain. There are loads of nice bars and restaurants surrounding the hotel and down both Surawong and Silom road.

I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent rooms at an excellent price.

LOCATION: The hotel location is good, depending on your interests while in Bangkok. Great location if you're interested in Patong. Otherwise, you need to get on the nearby SkyTrain (above-ground train) to get to the river, then take a river-boat to get to the Grand Palace and main Temples. The Skytrain can generally take you around the city. For short trips, a tuk-tuk is a must, at least once just for the experience. Tuk-Tuks and taxis are cheap. A taxi ride to/from the airport should only run 350-450 Bhat. Make sure you get metered taxi. You'll have to pay the tolls as you go.

ROOM: The room was very large and spacious. Very clean. Good modern amenities, including an iron, hair dryer, bathroom kits, etc. Large flat-screen TV with several stations available. Good blockout shades on the windows to keep light out in the morning. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

STAFF: The hotel staff all around was extremely polite and helpful in many ways. A great experience of Thai hospitality. We would like to specially compliment Awruth (hope we spelled it right). He was very helpful at the hotel and even saw us on the street on his time off and offered to help us and give us city information.

HOTEL: The hotel common areas are in a smart modern design. The common areas throughout the hotel are very clean and appealing.

DINING: We didn't particularly care for the street vending, so we opted for dinners and breakfast at the hotel. The food was wonderful. The restaurant staff is very attentive and polite. Buffet breakfast has several options and of very high quality.

CITY: Don't have particular expectations going in to Bangkok. The city offers great historical/culturals sites, but many areas are in need of development. The city is very clean, in reference to little rubish in the streets/sidewalks. But many buildings are old, even amidst some of the newest sleekest skyscrapers. Try to enjoy the Thai people's way of life. Just be careful of scammers, particularly in the tourist areas. They will give you wrong information and potentially sell you something you don't need or send you to a location that is not of interest.

NOTE: All our reviews are not evaluated on the exclusively mutual experience at the respective hotel. Our ratings and standards are benchmarked with other hotels that we have stayed.

There are a lot of things going for Le Meridien Bangkok...

- location: is unbeatable if you want to enjoy the Patpong nightlife and it's also a skip and jump to the Sky Train
- facilities: it's less than a year old so the facilities are new, generous and modern, I adored the rain shower in our room and the gym is the best I've seen in a hotel
- staff: are extremely courteous, helpful and all seem to speak excellent English and seem to genuinely want to give guests an excellent experience
- generosity: with some hotels you feel like they don't want to give one extra bit of service/offer that they don't need to, here, you automatically get water and a cool towel when you go down to the pool, bottled water and fresh towel are plentiful in the gym, internet in public areas are free (although I'd argue internet should be free everywhere), rooms are serviced once and followed up with a 6pm "is there anything else you would like?", nice plunger coffee
- Breakfast: I know the others have all mentioned this, but truly this is the best hotel breakfast I've had (previous fav was Langham Place in Hong Kong), what do you expect when the resident chef has 3 (I think) Michelin Stars?!
- the bed: is just so large and incredibly comfortable
- Value: we were lucky to get a special deal which makes this place 7 stars for value

It's close, but I'd rate this the best hotel we've stayed at, sorry Langham Place, Hong Kong.
