“Near flawless modern Asian hotel”
Reviewed 14 December 2009

Le Meridien Bangkok is relatively new, shiny, well maintained, luxurious and in a decent location. Staying there one night costs 7000 Starwood points or 2800 points/USD60 which makes it definitely worth it. They refuse to upgrade you beyond a Starwood Floor unless you're Platinum - standard policy throughout SE Asia - but the Starwood Floor rooms are fine - very nice actually. The room has a good bed, excellent flat screen TV (which you can plug your music into to use as a speaker if you brought your own RCA cords, or request one from housekeeping). Despite being just above Patpong market, noise is not a factor at all - in fact the hotel exudes peace once you enter. There's a decent pool and lounge deck (but with no view), quiet and well equipped exercise room, and free Herald Tribunes scattered around the hotel. The breakfast spread is the best of its genre (wider selection than the LMs in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Siem Reap) and costs around $20 per person (plus tax and service that is added to everything the hotel charges). The hotel concierge gives out wifi passwords that are good for one hour of free wireless in the lobby and in your room, and if you don't mind shamelessly and repeatedly asking for a code, you will save $20 per day. Beside the hotel are an average Italian restaurant, Duilio's, a ramen cafe, a decent bakery with free wireless and countless hawker stalls. There's a 7-Eleven next door that sells a AIS (1-2-Anycall) SIM cards. Great property. The only drawback to the hotel is a short but sweaty ten minute walk to the nearest skytrain station.

Staying at Le Meridien in Bangkok was one of the highlights of our 3 week-trip to Thailand. From the service to the decor and ambience of every corner of the property, this hotel offers great value for your money. The staff was extremly friendly, service oriented and helpful,

The design of the rooms creates a very sophisticated atmosphere. The rain shower is THE BEST!!.. so good after spending 22 hours hoping on and off planes.

The pool is salt water and heated. (Yes, even in 36 degrees I am not a fan of cold water).

The hotel is also conveniently located. Few blocks from the subway and a block away from the patpong night bazar. Although the hotel is near the red light district the attitude of the locals towards tourist is not any different from the rest of thailand. Saying "No, thank you" and keep on walking will be enough.

There are 3 terminals in the lobby that guests can use to acccess the Internet for free. That came handy when having to research where to eat, go for drinks or just keep in touch with home.

If you are debating on whether to stay at Le Meridien in Bangkok, shop no more. You will be glad you chose to stay there.

This 5 day visit was the second time I have stayed at this brand new property (opened early 2009). The rooms are sensational, good size, great amenities, perfect bed, big plasma TV, large, well equiped marble bathroom with seperate shower / bath - the list goes on... The breakfast buffet is the best I have experienced for a long time and the hotel bar is extremely slick and sexy - great cocktails! The spa was great - fantastic treatment (maybe a bit expensive) and the serivice by the pool was spot on. I can highly recommend this property for business or leisure stays.

A very modern, interestingly (in a good way) styled/stylish hotel. The location is very close to Patpong, but a fair distance from both Sukhumvit and the Old City, so location may not be ideal - though taxis are of course available (and cheap; go by meter).

Room was very quiet, hotel was very restrained and civilised, despite the near frenzy outside. The upper rooms have great views and the design of the bathroom and the shutters makes the most of the space.

Listen out for the "soundscapes" playing in the lobby and lifts, you may even like them...

Just returned from 3 weeks in Thailand. Spent 3 nights at Le Meridian and can honestly say this was the best hotel out of the 5 we stayed in whlist on holiday there.
The hotel just oozes class and sophistication. Breakfsat was amazing and so was the room.
Paptong night market is across the road but we preferred to travel on the metro to Lamphini station to the much bigger night market there.

Wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel if lucky enough to have the chance & would highly recommend to all.

Le Meridien, Bangkok, was just what we needed. Right in the bustling heart of the city. Modern, efficient, clean and friendly, with all the facilities necessary to make our stay perfect.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. It just oozes class and modern sophistication. I am writing this a while after my stay but I can say that I was very impressed by the service. The lobby staff couldn't have been more helpful. Special mention for the double bed- it was the most comfortable I have slept in anywhere. I wish I could have taken it home- even more comfy than the Tempur Deluxe mattress I have at home. My package was great value for money with a fantastic buffet breakfast included, given it was a five star hotel. I still remember the green tea and coconut bread and the salmon with eggs benedict signature meal.
Location is handy with the Patpong night market just across the road and the Skytrain not too far. Noise was minimal. The only slight disappointment was the room view - no view of the river - just the city, which isn't the most beautiful.
Would definitely stay here if I ever return to Bangkok
