“Wonderful friendly hotel”
Reviewed 3 December 2010

We recently spent 4 nights at Le Meridien and were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay. The hotel concierges were well informed and helpful. The food was outstanding and the rooms were spacious and luxurious. The restaurant, Bamboo, has a fabulous trio playing on the weekends.

I booked the hotel through Lastminute.com and paid a small extra amount for a corner room but it didn't include breakfast. I had contacted the hotel in advance to ask about a very early check in and they replied quickly but stated it would cost a whole extra night. On our arrival at around 7am the reception staff were very helpful and checked us in at no extra cost. The corner room in the hotel is amazing with stunning views, a big circular bed that was very very comfortable. There are good tea and coffee making facilities in the room, complimentary water, large tv and the bathroom was fantastic. A rain shower and separate hand held shower, a very large bath and speakers through to the bathroom from the tv.
Room service was good but very expensive (about £30 for breakfast for 2 in the room).
It depended on which concierge staff you got as to what service you received. Some were very helpful and spoke fluent english and some did not speak very good english at all and couldn't help very much.
There is free internet access in the reception and a seated smoking area outside the front of the hotel. The pool area is really nice, small but very clean, as was the rest of the hotel.
Patpong night market is opposite and the Grand Palace is a short cab ride away.
All in all, a great hotel room in a central location

Luxurious 5 star city hotel. rooms very good, service and friendliness of staff very good (even for thailand). Located next to Patpong night market with lots of go go bars which will not suite everyone. However, this location is very central and from here it is easy to get to most turist areas, lots of good restaurants and the river is a short taxi ride - or even walk - away.

Reserved through Expedia for 6 nights and clearly stated a king size bed in a Non-smoking room. The day of arrival we called to inform about our late arrival and confirmed that we would have a non-smoking room with a king size bed.
To our disappointment, upon arrival at midnight we were informed that my wife and I would need to sleep in twin beds (individuals) as there were no other rooms available. We found this completely unacceptable in a 5 star hotel, that they expect couples to either sleep in individual beds or bear the smell of a smoking room.
The reception people promised to change us the next day and they did.

Removing that initial bad experience, the rest of our stay was very good. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice, modern and spacious. Sound insulation could be better as you can hear the hallway music.
Buffet breakfast is fantastic. Location is excellent for sightseeing and sky train at walkable distance. The neighborhood is very lively with restaurants, patpong market and a bunch of dodgy massage places.
Free internet in the lobby (wifi and shared computers)
We would definitely recommend this hotel and the location.

This is the second time I've stayed in Le Meridien and it honestly goes down as one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Little 'surprise and delight' moments around every corner - the smells, the music, the decor - just wonderful.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The concierge guy - Kok - just superb. He recommended and sorted out trips to the floating market, Lumphini and some great restaurants! The hotel bar and restaurant are exceptional. The rooms - I've never slept in a more comfortable bed! ... and they are superbly decorated and furnished.

Location wise - 15 mins tuk tuk ride away from the pier, literally across the road from the infamous patpong market - but don't let that put you off - it's safe, lots of people bustling about - families, travellers, locals. Really close to some of the fabulous sites - grand palace etc - again 15 min tuk tuk.

All in all, this was a hotel recommended to me and I will (and am) most certainly recommending it to others. Just Fabulous! Can't fault anything about it!

This hotel seems to pride itself on being arty, funky & full of gadgets.

Being smack bang in the middle of Patpong means it's easy to find & with lots on the doorstep.
The large atrium is very cool, has some good seating & a place to take 5.
I had a corner room upgrade which was supposed to give panoramic city views. Having not seen a standard room I don't know whether it's worth the extra as the additional side window isn't that big.
The room is full if gadgets & I had fun exploring it. Electric blinds, kitchen stuff in drawers, small pullouts for tea/coffee etc. The bed was super comfy.

The bathroom is impressive but considering the newness of the hotel is already beginning to show signs of wear n tear. Stains, broken tile, scratched tiles etc.

Breakfast wasn't included in my rate but wasnt bad value at NZ$20. Worth every cent as it was amazing. So many high quality food options. Great coffee, good service.

I didn't use the pool or gym but both looked good.

friendly thai staff. excellent rooms and bathroom. the only bad thing is that even though they brag that their breakfast is designed by jean gorges, it really isn't that good.
