I normally stay at the Regency Park, but it was full. They made a reservation for me at the Check Inn Phromphong.

I believe that I was in the main building.

LOCATION - About 70 meters from the main road, Sukhumvit. It is within 200 meters of the Emporium Complex and the BTS station. Good location

ROOM - The space was divided into 3 parts. Main room with bed. There was about 1 meter of free space around the bed. A small kitchenette with sink, two electric burner stove top, and dishes/utensils for two people.

Bathroom is modern with a bidet style sit down toilet.

RESTAURANTS - Other than breakfast, I did not eat in. Breakfast was a standard Thai style set of dishes. A good location for outside restaurants. Across from the front door is, in my opinion, one of the best Beijing Chinese restaurants in town.

I would stay here again if there is no other choice, and I would do so willingly.

We have spend the last three nights here......our room was down the alley from the main reception and was a little old and in need of a facelift but overall excellent value for money. Very close to the MRT sky rail station and a small market next door. The staff were very helpful, they did our washing for free and offered us the use of an umbrella when we were heading out one rainy morning. The breakfast was included.....it was basic but nice.

Room Tip: Leave a small tip for the housekeeper and they really look after you.

Thankfully we only stayed in this hotel for one night. There is no elevator, we got a room on the top 4th floor and thre was no a/con in the corridor, when we walked into the room it was like in being in the sauna. We put the a/c on but only half of it worked so it took ages to cool the room. On top of that it was very loud and we couldn't sleep all night, we couldn't turn it off for the night as it would be too hot in the room. Bathroom was so small with no shower curtain so everything was wet around once one's finished.Breakfast was OK, but nothing special, The only plus was the staff who were very pleasant. All in all we definitely would not stay in this place ever again. There are other much better places to stay in BKK and closer to places of interest. We would definitely recommend Queen Lotus in Asok, it's amazing.

We picked this hotel based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor. Even so, it still exceeded all expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8-day stay there. Only possible fault I could imagine was staying in a 4th floor room and no elevator. While some may consider this a shortcoming -- we did not -- with all the fabulous food we enjoyed in Bangkok we needed the extra bit of exercise climbing the steps every day. The main thing that makes this hotel so special is the warm, friendly, and kind staff. Whether morning crew or night crew all were kind, friendly and helpful with anything and everything to make our stay more enjoyable. Another very positive aspect is that the rooms have so many nice amenities as standard, such as a hair dryer, a nice, easy-to-use safe in the room, large full-length mirrors, mini kitchen with refrigerator, microwave oven, fry pan, dishes, utensils and even pot scrubber and dishwashing liquid. Also, every day we were provided with free packets of coffee and creamer as well as two free bottles of mineral water (placed in the refrigerator). Someone went to great length to think of all the things the guest might need and then provided them in the room. And if there was anything we did need, such as extra coat hangers, these were promptly provided -- with a smile. Also, the location is near ideal, as others have already mentioned. Near the action of Sukhumvit, a short walk from Emporium, but on a quiet street one block away from the noise of Sukhumvit traffic. This place -- although not large nor luxurious -- provides warmer friendlier good service to guests than most expensive 5-star hotels costing 10-20 times as much. Next trip to Bangkok, we will not consider any other hotel.
