“Haven in the Storm”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

I have dined at Kinnaree 4 times over the course of two visits to Thailand and have never been disappointed.

Located down an inviting alley lined with brass pelicans and royal crests, Kinaree is an oasis in this bustling town. In the courtyard are tall palms wrapped in light like beacons in the night.

The interior ambiance is delightful. The staff are friendly and unobtrusive, and there is live Thai instrumental music that compliments the experience.

Then there is the food...I have yet to experience a dish I did not like and was pleased that my selections' spiciness could be dialed down to a comfortable level.

Note that the restaurant caters to locals and foreigners alike. The air-conditioning was superb to my feeling, but some may find it chilly so a wrap may be worth carrying along.

“Neighborhood gem”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Located close to landmark hotel in sukhumvit soi 8 this find was really great. Location at end of street is unique.very nice staff and food was presented with concern to small details. Loved the soft shell crab, steak, veggie spring rolls, and pad Thai. Dinner for three with wine for $140 US. Try it if in area.

“Average Thai Food”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

Lovely location in garden setting. Good staff. Food was on the fancy side of Thai, and of an average quality. Nothing really stood out; and the freshness was occasionally questionable. Price was high for what was ordered. Still, not bad Thai for location without having to trek to thonglor.

“Excellent authentic thai food”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Brought my colleagues here after being pestered for good Thai food on our business trip in May, haha... Had known this restaurant since my stay at Citadine Apartment Soi 8 on my previous trip and quickly usher them to this restaurant.
You may be discourage at first at the price on the menu, but give a try, you won't regret it.
We ordered tom yam gung, soft shell crab, som tam and tamarind sauce fish. The differences I notice for the dishes prepared is that not only they emphasize the freshness of the ingredients, but the quality of sauce, spices, seasoning, marinating was so good, that it really differentiate the food taste here.
The tamarind sauce fish was so memorable that I will make a point to come back again on my next trip.
Overall we spent about THB2500 for 3 person with beer, a bit pricey, but worth it.
Hope they maintain this standard.

“We take visitors here”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

My wife and I are American residents of Bangkok and this is the place to take guests for a nicer thai meal. The live dulcimer music is nice. I think the prices are very fair for the quality of the food and ambience. You won't get an authentic Thailand dining experience, but it's a nice touristy one nonetheless!
