Rikka inn was an absolute gem. Having tried to book rambuttri village and d&d inn but to no avail for our last couple of nights of our travels we decided to book Rikka inn due to its location and roof top pool.
The location is fab. Yes it's on koh san so expect some street noise. Our double room was lovely, very clean with good bathroom and safety deposit box. We were situated at the back of the hotel so the noise was minimal except when you went into our bathroom which wasn't so well sound proofed. Couldn't comment on the noise for the rooms that faced the road. (Although I'd say don't stay anywhere on koh san or rambuttri roads if you want it get total peace and quiet).
The roof top pool was beautiful, really clean, quite a few sun loungers and ridiculously good views over bangkok. (Recommend going up there when it's dark to check out the view).
Reception staff were very helpful and there was a security guard during at the front door so very secure hotel.
Had a great stay here, also nice to be able to pop back during the evening if you want to drop off bags or get changed etc.
I'd say this was a little more pricey than rambuttri or d&d but not huge amounts in it and I reckon it's worth it.

Arriving in Bangkok at 6am on the overnight train from Laos we understandably weren't able to check in straight away but the staff were helpful allowing us to leave our luggage and find somewhere to change into fresh clothes. After grabbing some breakfast we returned about 9.30 and had access to the pool for a couple of hours until our room was ready. The room was basic but clean and thankfully at the back of the building which meant there was minimal noise from the busy Khao San Road. The shower was a bit awkward and sprayed water everywhere but it was hot (a bonus having come from Laos), The wifi wasn't working and when I called to the desk to find out why the explanation wasn't clear, there was however a computer available for use in the lobby. For a hotel on the Khao San Road I was pleasantly surprised, the pool is a definite bonus, the wifi was disappointing but I would definitely stay there again when passing through Bangkok but probably not for any longer than a couple of nights

Spent two nights here. Certainly got one of the better rooms, I was right in the middle of the hallway, far enough away from Khaosan and far enough from the elevator where all the foot traffic is. Rooms are small, but cosy, no problem. Same goes for the bathroom, nothing special but does the job. While having been to Khaosan twice now I'm unlikely to stay again but if I was to Id certainly consider staying here again.

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, the beds were comfy (for hotel beds), the room was extremely clean, the bathroom was good, the shower was a bit awkwardly situated but otherwise fine.
The only downfall to this place was that it was way too loud in the room from the outside noise, there is literally a club outside the window, so if you are going to stay here, reserve a room on the opposite side of where the club is located!
The pool was good, never seemed to get cleaned but good for a quick cool down.
The staff comes off a bit abrupt at first but ended up being very nice and helpful during the stay.
If you are going to the airport, walk down the hall to the little travel place and get the airport shuttle from them, 150 Baht per person, compared to the expensive 450 Baht the hotel charges for "their" shuttle, which is actually just a taxi.

Good location, you can walk to so many places from here and tons of places to eat and shop along the street if you don't want to go far!

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the club side.

The Rikka is at the top end of the Khao San Rd. It's a nice hotel, clean rooms, a bathroom/wet room and a nice pool on the roof.

It's exactly what u pay for, if u want lush hotel rooms and total peace and quiet do not stay on or near Khao San, if u like to walk out the door and be bang in the middle of the action then this place is perfect.

We stayed for 4 nights at the start of our trip and it was a great base to explore from, we found that 4 days is more than enough to see Bangkok. If we go back at the end of our trip we would easily stay here again. Clean rooms nice staff and great location.
