I flew to bangkok, at the airport i went to the meeting place, and missed the woman with the sign for the free shuttle. I showed my reservation to security and they found her, she then called in the shuttle. Once there I was greeted by staff they gave a coupon for breakfast and took care of my bags. The rooms are great, the headboards were traditional thai style, the room was clean, the shower was basic but functional, they provided free towels and soap to use. The air con was amazing, and the free wiifi was a treat. This hotel is great value, highly recommended if your flying from/to bangkok.

I stay at Thong Ta every time I need to do a stop over in Bangkok. The hotel has a free shuttle bus from/to the airport and also breakfast is included. Rooms are clean and have more than enough space for a hotel that is, I believe, mainly used for short stays of 1 or 2 nights for a stop-over in Bangkok. I definitely recommend. You won't regret.

If you have an early flight or a late arrival this is the hotel for you, otherwise it's very far away from any other activity in Bangkok and too sterile for stays in excess of a day. My girlfriend and I stayed here 2 nights - once for our late arrival in at 2am, once for our early flight out at 6:30am. Even though our transfer driver wasn't visible with a sign upon our arrival, this could be excused because we had a delayed flight and didn't give them full flight details. The transfer shuttle apparently was there but I was unaware that there were two meeting points in the airport, so we missed him when we exited from a different direction. A cab was easily arranged at the taxi stand outside the terminal for 180 baht ($6 dollars US) and our driver found the place with the map I provided from their website. I suggest to keep a copy of this map with you because the hotel seemed pretty hard to find and was down a tucked away street. Survarnabhumi Airport at night can be a little intimidating for first time travelers to Bangkok, so if you don't find your transfer ignore everyone else in the lobby - especially those offering helpful information that are not airport personnel - and go directly to the taxi stand just outside the airport. There are a fair amount of scam artists around and you really don't want that to be your first experience in the city.

Thong Ta did the airport overnight stay/transfer job very well. They offered 24 hour room service and massage which we didn't try, but it was nice to have it available at a reasonable rate. The room was clean and efficient with a tiled floor,a very firm bed, and air conditioning. Free breakfast, airport transfers, and wi-fi were an added bonus. The front desk staff was available for directions, concierge service, or to flag down a taxi literally at all hours of the day or night. For what you get the price is a runaway steal.

Negatives. As mentioned, the food was not that great. We weren't too crazy about the ants, both large and microscopic, that would find their way from the balcony into any opened container of nuts or soda, but that's par for the course in Thailand. Granted that any shower after 16 hours of flying was a desperately cherished experience, however the lack of water pressure really left us feeling unfulfilled. The location is really out there, and if you're used to comfortable western city life you will feel displaced with not much to do around the hotel. The run down surrounding area will leave you with a lackluster impression of the city on your first night. You'll probably think "Oh [--]. What am I doing in Bangkok?" as I did. Not to worry though, as with all airport hotels this one is merely a halfway house to other destinations. As long as you keep that in mind and don't buy into the over-hyped reviews on this site you'll be just fine.

I would highly recommend this hotel for it's perfect service to and from the airport. Beyond one night though I would suggest to stay elsewhere.

The staff were super and the rooms clean and big. Definitely worth a visit as the staff are totally dedicated to looking after you. Also, you are about one hour drive from Bangkok. The hotel Driver Wanchai took us all around Bangkok in his car and was totally professional all the way! Definitely recommend you book him to do the same for you otherwise the area is vast and it's difficult for you to get around on your own. He takes you to a spot and comes back for you later....perfect!

Also, the American breakfast is recommended - lovely way to start the day.....

What can I say, this hotel gets 5 full stars for being the perfect airport hotel.
Stayed here entering Thailand and had such a positive experience, we booked it on the way out.

From beginning to end...
Picked up at airport at 1 in the AM. Staff was waiting. Transport and check-in were fast and efficient. No lie--from airport customs to bedroom was 20 minutes total! Great sized bed, typical Thailand firm. Air conditioner cold. Breakfast was reasonable and free with nothing to get excited about nor be disappointed by. Checkout and return to airport was equally efficient.

Return trip transport was identical so efficiency was no fluke! Modern van with cold AC. Had more time on this stay so ventured outside the hotel. Some would say the area is "sketchy", but I would call it urban Bangkok. Nothing to fear, just different. Hotel has a spa, but we chose the spa down the block. Less than 5 minute walk, 2/3s the price--which just proves how reasonable the hotel spa is. Also chose to walk to restaurant around the corner. Maybe 10 minute walk at best--very authentic and absolutely delicious although pricier than hotel restaurant which I can't vouch for quality-wise at dinner. Also visited the Thai convenience store (under 5 min walk) for Diet Coke and beer. Dirt cheap! I like getting out of the hotel, and there is plenty of food and drink off campus if you have a handful of words, modicum of courage, and several hundred bhat.

The hotel itself? Very new. VERY clean. Well appointed with TV, fridge, and balcony (except on first floor). Minibar in fridge is reasonably priced (perfect at 0130 after a long day). On site restaurant and spa. Free wireless internet. Fast and efficient transport and desk service. Rooms are very large with a minimalist attitude. As an added bonus for many of the airport hotels, Thong Ta has a separate shower "area" delineated by a one inch step down and full shower curtain! Don't laugh, many of its competitors have a hand held shower nozzle next to the toilet and a drain in the middle of the room for a "shower". "OK" if you are alone, dismal if a couple.

Lastly, check the internet for great rates. We hit two specials, both were basically 1000bht for round-trip transport, double room. If the website overcharges, just send a quick email with link at bottom of page--our concerns were addressed and rectified via email within 24 hours.

Only downside? Most hotels in Thailand seem to favor all-tile hallways and rooms. Makes for a very clean stay, but can easily transmit noise from other occupants. Nevertheless, this was a quiet stay on both occasions.

Stay here for an overnight, you won't regret it.
