excellent position in quiet back court yard area, fantastic up todate rooms with excellent fittings .
my only complaint would be that the room at first smelt of tabbaco smoke ....aircon on for 10 mins sorted it out though

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a window ..as i believe some of the rooms dont have them

When we arrived my wife and I had cold showers, this was later fixed. The next day same thing happened again, this time I was shown how to fix the issue. On our last day we had no water at all to either flush the toilet or shower.

The above incidents with water or lack of did not make me happy.

We had booked a room with a window, but recieved one without. I couldn't be bothered complaining again.

It is in a good location and could be a great little hotel if it sorted it's issues out

Darjelling Boutique Hotel was the perfect place to stay. I had read the reviews (good and bad) but I had no problems at all and will definitely be staying here again the next time I am in Bangkok.

I found the reception and cleaning staff to be very friendly and helpful. They spoke English (or enough to understand).

The room itself was very nice, clean and funky. I had no issues with hot water whatsoever unlike others who have mentioned this. I found the wifi in my room did regularly drop out, but they do have a computer in the lobby to use. The mattress was hard but not an issue for me. I liked that the bathroom looked over the bedroom by way of a massive glass panel, but it does have blind if you are shy! You get a bottle of free water everyday which I thought was a nice touch. There is a refridgerator in the room so you can buy some food at the supermarkets, which are within walking distance.

It can be a little tricky to find the hotel - don't ask the locals as they don't know! If cathing the train from the airport to Phaya Thai, take the BTS Sytrain (Sukhumvit Line) to Asok. The best way as someone previously mentioned was to head towards the Citibank sign but use the exit on the opposite side of the road to the Citibank sign, when you come down the stairs you should be outside the Exchage Towers (shopping centre). Follow the road until you come to a laneway - this is Soi 18. It is just after some money exchange places but a better way to orientate yourself is that the Soi is directly across the road from a petrol station. If you get to the 7Eleven then you have gone too far.

The hotels location is great, being so close both MRT and BTS Skytrain stations it is really easy to get around. They serve breakfast in the hotel but there are so many places to eat within walking distance, both restaurants and food street vendors that I always ate out. It is worth walking along Sukhumvit Rd towards Nana as there are lots of street stalls selling goodies to take home.

Overall I was very impressed with the Darjelling Boutique Hotel and would recommend it if you are looking for great place to stay without spending a fortune.

Pros - A small and modern hotel, very comfortable bed, strong air-cond, very near to BTS station, convenient & pleasant environment.
Cons - The shower water pressure is very bad, the air cond was leaking

Good location to asok for the skytrain. as all my hotels have been in bangkok...very hard to find on soi 18 which isnt on google maps and no taxi can find it. from asok station walk towards the big blue citibank sign or the true fitness sign. soi 18 comes off from a shop called 'aubrey bloom'. for the price u cant really complain. good size room clean a bathtub! which isnt that common in bangkok. good connection to public transport. 7/eleven near by. not many markets nearby mostly high end stores. good price. good hotel in bangkok. no frills but for a few nights i recommend.

If you are looking for a budget hotel with clean and nice rooms, also located in the heart of
Bangkok, I really can recommend this hotel ! The rooms are very comfortable and I was surprised about the well equipped rooms. I expected (for this price) much less and got all what I needed and more. You can walk easy a few hundred meters to Asoke. The location was also very quiet, because the hotel is in a little Soi and at a"dead end" as well. The staff have been very friendly and helpful, too. WIFI for free and fast.

Room Tip: Quit and clean rooms !

Stayed in this hotel in January 2011. Rooms are fine, nice deco. Its a very small budget hotel. Reception is just a small counter at a corner right after the entrance. The so call restaurant is just beside the reception. Overall ok. Only one main thing is the water pressure alwasy drop hallf way when bathing. I don't know what is the problem. But since it a budget hotel, I just let it go and did not made any complain. Location is very near to BTS and MRT, making it easy to travel to other parts of city.
