“Fantastic hotel with helpful staff, good location and spacious room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2013

The rooms are very spacious by Bangkok standards and the hotel is in a great location - within a few minutes walking distance of the Sala Daeng BTS and Silom MRT stations. The staff are very helpful and friendly and it was a pleasure to stay here.

This hotel is in a brilliant location, less than 5 minutes to walk to sky train and metro stations! The area is also quiet at night, located in a smaller street a few minutes off a busy road. Nearby there are plenty of restaurants to eat, as well as lots of street food!

Staff spoke good English, were friendly and knowledgable about the area and were more than happy to help with booking taxis if needed.

The room was immaculately clean, as well as being modern and spacious. The air con was good too, and two bottles of water were provided each day. The bathroom wasnt huge but it was big enough and there was a lot of power from the shower as well as hot and cold water.

Breakfast is the only thing I would say could be slightly improved, although they did have toast, sandwiches, biscuits, bananas and free tea and coffee throughout the day. Fresh juice would have been nice as well as a greater selection of fruit.

Overall a very nice stay and I would definitely return!

I have been to Bangkok a couple of times and I previously stayed in another hotel in Saladaeng. However, since I was travelling with another 2 friends, it was harder to find a hotel for trio in that area with reasonable price. A friend of mine recommended this place.

The Inn Saladaeng is situated at a small alley right from the main road. It is around 5 minutes walk from the BTS Saladaeng station. There are stalls and shops along the way. The alley was a little bit quiet especially during the night time. Have to be careful if you stay there alone. There are even signages telling us to beware of pickpockets and take good care of our belongings.

Apart from that, I personally like this place. It is very homey feel. It was a slightly smaller inn with the dining area is also the lobby. The staff were extra friendly and attentive. The room was ready when we reached and we were checked in at 9am. The lady at the reception suggested us to have a cup of coffee before starting our journey out. :) Light breakfast is served every morning. Choices are limited to sandwiches and breads but were sufficient for us. Free drinking water, coffee & tea and biscuits all the time. They provide free Wifi connection at dining area and also in the rooms. There was a router located right outside the room, therefore, the connection was pretty fast. There is also free Internet access with a computer at the dining area and also some reading materials, in case you are travelling alone.

We stayed in a Junior room with 1 single bed and 1 king sized bed on the fifth floor. The beds were comfortable. The room was not too big but was spacious enough to accommodate us and our huge luggage (after shopping). The room and toilet were very clean, and basic toiletries were provided.

However, the shower system can be improved as the toilet is all wet after each shower because of water flowing from the corner of the bath tub onto the floor. The shower was either too hot or too cold, we could not get it just right.

I will highly recommend this place if you drop by Bangkok for a short period. Just be careful when you walk back to the hotel at night. :)

Pretty standard for a mid-range hotel in SE Asia – small, clean, air conditioned rooms. This hotel gains a star for its location – in a great area for street food – but loses one for staff that were a little less helpful than at other places we stayed (though they were still friendly).

I've been to Bangkok so many times, usually 2/3 times a year for some shopping and then flying to other locations with Air Asia.
I have been to various Luxury and 4 star hotels from Sofitel to Pullman, Tawana, Ambassador, Grand Sukhumvit and so on.

I only chose this one for nightlife/shopping compromise and because we were a party of 3 and it's surprisingly difficult to find a triple room in Bangkok.

On this note, from a deluxe family room I had booked we were given a normal room with an extra cheap foldable bed with a very weak structure and cheap mattress.
The room has a few molded walls, the bathroom is a waterfall due to the badly designed tub.

The "breakfast" isn't even worthy of such name.

But the worst is yet to come... and it's what pushed me to open an account to share this experience with fellow travellers.
The staff was polite from the beginning as all Thais except a scandalous issue that arose in the end of the stay: me and a friend got new tattoos (I have 10 of them 9 of which I got in Bangkok) and as per norm the ink stuck to the bed sheets while sleeping.

The day of checkout the receptionist stopped me showing me some paper saying I was expected to pay over 200 euros for 2 duvet cases, one pillow case and one bed sheet that were damaged and couldn’t get clean after 3 times being washed. €200 for sheets, in a 3 star thai hotel?!

First: I am fully tattooed, this always happens and no hotel in Bangkok ever asked me money.
Second: only one was stained.
Third and most important: they had not washed them even once. I smelled them, I am not stupid.

After hours of discussing, an offer of 50% discount, calling Tourist Police that attacked me instead of protecting me, running to the lobby bathroom and washing the sheets myself with hand soap and showing them how they got perfectly clean even with cold water.. I left the hotel leaving over 20 euro for laundry.
Now if this isn’t a scam…
