“Pleasant Stay at Citin”
Reviewed 7 January 2014 via mobile

It's my 4th trip to Bangkok and based on my hubs' recommendation, I decided to book a room at Citin.

Check in was swift and we got a room at the new tower upon request.

Room size is acceptable, enough space to open up two big luggages.

Bathroom was okay but not elder-friendly as there was no handle to grab beside the bathtub. Bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste btw.

The shower was a little hard to meddle cos it's either too hot or too cold, took a while to find the "G spot".

Bed was a little too hard for my liking and the pillows too soft, okay maybe I am a fusspot.

TV channels were a great disappointment as there wasnt a single movie channel in English language, most channels were reporting news and in other languages, the Chinese movie channel (Xing Kong) which I eventually found was good but had a few 30-min advertisements in between and really pissed me off.

Couldn't find any cartoon channels so if you're bringing kids, bring your own entertainment.

My stay didnt come with breakfast but I heard the veg breakfast is pretty popular with vegetarians.

You will be spoilt for choice with food and shopping right outside the hotel, try the roadside food stalls if your stomach can take it. Platinum is within walking distance, 10min maybe. Indra Square has some shops too and if u wake at 4am u could explore the early morning market where they sell really nice and affordable clothes in wholesale prices. They start packing up the stalls around 8am cos the roads need to open up for vehicles.

May stay at Citin again this year end if they bother to review the tv channels.

Stayed here with my spouse in February 2013.
Being in Bangkok you just cant expect the loneliness, quite and cozy atmostphere. The hotel is located right in the midle of the market.
the room was clean and spacious. Basic amenities were there. Many indian restaurants around so no problem in finding indian food.
Girls pull up your socks cuz its a lot to shop around and guys hide your wallets cuz the gals are gonna shop heavy from here.
Overall a nice trade off between the money you spend and the quality you get.
Recommended for a budget hotel. Go for it..!!

Room Tip: Choose a room with city view.

We stayed at the hotel from 24th Dec to 30th Dec 2013, there were 5 of us and we booked two connecting rooms where one room is a king/queen size bed and the other room has three single beds.

We arrived there on Christmas Eve and were told that the connecting rooms were only available on Christmas Day at the Citin building 1 (the one with the hotel reception) and we were given 200 baht discount for the first night. We stayed at Citin building 2 (room 2310 and room 2311) for the first night. the rooms generally were quite okay except the shower was quite difficult to control the temperature of the heater. Any little movement will cause the water to become very hot or very cold.

The reception called our room the next day to remind us to move our luggages to the recpetion so that we can check into our connecting rooms when we return to the hotel in the evening. We were allocated to connecting rooms 1505 and 1506. The rooms allocated were generally very clean but the lights above the king size bed were faulty.

Housekeeping services everyday were very good except they did not replace the shower caps in room 1505 from the 3rd day till the very last day of our stay there. The shower temperature in both bathrooms were also quite difficult to control.

Though the hotel is quite far in but those food stores along the road were all very interesting and the food tasted very good too !

The staff at the reception area were all very friendly and helpful when we asked for directions or help.

The hotel breakfast (the restaurant is located at Citin Building 2) is not too bad if you don't mind having bread and vegetaian and some noodles, the restaurant will change the vegetaian dishes every morning.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the building where the hotel reception is located and high floor so that it's l...

It is located in local wholesale market, gives an experience of local urban life of Bangkok. Good tailors and Indian restaurants are located closeby. Hotel rooms are clean, staff is courteous and free Tuk Tuk service is available every half an hour to local train station. Breakfast is a big disappointment. Same vegetarian menu is served with slight variations. It is surprising that the restaurant is run by Sagar Ratna but they do not serve aloo puri or south indian breakfast. Overall a very good budget hotel.

I was in this hotel in 2011 for one night and it was great. This time I was for 7 nights and it was good. The rooms are clean and the staff (with one exception) was very polite. But I got fed up with breakfast. there was not enough choice. At last three breakfast i wished I didn't payed for it. It would be more varsities to eat on the street.
The location is great. You have a lot of shops around and a big market. The food stools with very tasty and delicious food are every day different and they are located in the street where hotel is. At the hotel is the free tuk-tuk to the main street every 30 minutes so you don't need to walk to get a taxi or a Skytrain.
Rooms are small but very comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was air condition. It is above the bad, so if you are lying on the left bed the cold air is blowing right on you the whole night.
The bathroom needs a renovation, because it gets old.
We book a trip to the floating market at the hotel. We found out later that this floating market is made just for the tourists and you don't get the real impression. They just want to get as much money from you as possible. If you are going to book the trip to the floating market than make sure they will drive you to the authentic on.

During my recent trip to Thailand, i had booked a tour agency and asked for a 3-star hotel booking near most markets and attractions. It was very close to the Suvarnabhumi Airport too. However, it was located on a very poorly built narrow road comprising of food stalls and the small of food and garbage was overpowering. Other than that, the food in the hotel, in the second building was great, it was an indian restaurant called Sagar Ratna and the food was decent. The rooms were also very neatly made and comfortable. Great hotel for stay as a family. If you are not a native of thailand then there are not many channels on tv here. Room service and hospitality was nice and on the ground floor there was a lounge and computers to surf the net. The wifi in the building was on all floors and was a strong signal.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the first building as in the second building you have less privacy if you open the...
