I decided to give this hotel a try after seeing it in a hotel renal website. For the price you really could not beat it for the Silom area. It is close to the sky train and all the action Silom Road has to offer. Many of the reviews talk about how it is outdated, bathrooms old, wallpaper pealing off the walls, etc and in many respects all those are true. The rooms themselves could get a sprucing up. The bathrooms could be improved but let's face it. If all these things were done you wouldn't be paying the price this hotel is currently asking. I found the people at the front desk very helpful and the rooms themselves certainly adequate. I've been to Thailand several times. When coming here I don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room. Thats not why I flew here. As long as it's clean, safe and in a decent area I am fine with that. This hotels serves all those
areas. This way I can save a little money to spend on other things or to take another trip back here to see more of this wonderful country. If you a only planning one trip to Thailand and want to splurge this hotel is probable not for you.

Room Tip: I stayed on a higher floor. Many times this helps with the noise. I did not experience any noise iss...

In many countries this would be acceptable at the price, but in Thailand and in Silom you can definitely do better. My complaints included a lack of warm water, intermittent internet, and ants in the room. The food didn't seem appetising, although there is plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bath, and check the hot water works.

The room is dark with barely any lighting; the room is carpeted which makes one wonder about cleanliness and worst of all, the room reaks of cigarette smoke. The fact that this is a smoking hotel was not disclosed anywhere at the time of booking. We called reception regarding this and they came up and sprayed an aerosol which lasted all of 5 minutes.

The beds are hard, and this pillows are even worse. We ended up tossing them out because they were so hard. The shower is located in the bath tub. The bathroom is old and looks a bit grimy in parts. The photographs on the booking website must have used really good lighting because it was completely the opposite of what we got in the end. The most desirable part of this hotel is reception!

Pros
- Economical
- Free wireless internet worked great (I was on the top floor)
- Near Patpong area
- Easy to get to BTS Surasak station
- Quiet
- Beds were nice and comfy

Cons
- Room phone rang at 11pm with someone asking if I wanted a massage. Luckily I wasn't asleep yet. Totally shady.
- B100 daily charge to use room safe
- Water in bathroom doesn't get warm, it barely gets lukewarm
- Taxi driver had difficulty finding it

Room Tip: Unplug the phone so nobody calls to solicit you for a massage and possibly disturbing your sleep. P...

This hotel does the job, it was incredibly well priced with a deal from www.agoda.com. The bed was very comfortable, the place was clean and the staff who spoke English were very friendly and helpful where possible.

This is a budget hotel, with no frills or view, but if you're looking for a place to sleep for a good price it is clean and comfortable.

I would not recommend having ANY breakfast! The chips were sodden with oil and overcooked, they weren't able to cook a simple boiled egg (came out uncooked). Basically just very bad quality food in general!

It is well placed within Bangkok on Silom Road, up the road from Silom Village, and in the other direction you can reach the night markets and the famous Pat Pong. Make sure you check out Lumphini Park at the end of Silom Road. It is a haven of peace in the big bustling city and it's entertaining to watch the mass aerobics sessions at around 5.30pm and everybody stop and stand for the National Anthem at 6pm! Monitor lizards can be spotted in the lake swimming as well.

Room Tip: Room 42 has the most comfy bed!

I didn't have high expectations for the Silom Avenue Inn because of the price and the location. The hotel is basic it has a fridge, cable tv e.t.c The decor is old and tired, the wallpaper is peeling off the walls, the bathrooms could do with an overhaul.
On the plus side it is set back from the main Silom Road so despite being in the center of town it is pretty quiet. The hotel is about 10 - 15 minutes away from Patpong Night Market and about 10 minutes from the nearest BTS station.
In summary if you want a relatively cheap base from which to explore the city and you are just going to sleep here then go for it. If you want the combination of a good location and a comfortable room where you can chill out, get ready for an evening out etc then this is probably not the place.
