Hit & missss.

Starters

Prawn pomelo salad - a little salty n heavily flavored
Spiced pork salad - salty n flavourful but ok with the raw salad sides given
Fried catfish - ordinary. Not recommended

Mains

Green curry vege - a little diluted and small portion.
Steamed sea bass - perhaps waited in the steamer for sometime from having the starters, fish was a little overcooked n came in filet(was advised by captain)

Rice

Very delightfully surprised we can have 3 choices of rice types. Red, brown and white. Opted for red n brown n never regret it.

I've been coming to the Spice Market restaurant every year since 1992. It hasn't changed and is consistently excellent. In the Anantara, the old Four Seasons, in Bangkok it's a stylish reminder of days gone by. The decor is reminiscent of an old Malay or Singaporean interior. Spice bottles adorn the walls.
The menu is excellent. Their little starter of beetle leaves and chilies and coconut is wonderful. The steamed sea bass is sublime. I've never been disappointed. You won't be either.

I read the other reviews before I came to this restaurant. The food was good but it certainly isn't the best Thai restaurant in Sukhumvit. It's basically a hotel cafe. The service was very nice.

You can't believe that the environment of this restaurant is so comfortable and we ordered 2 individual sets in this evening. The portion of each set that they offered was much enough to share with 2 people. Truly to say, you might think of it but you wouldn't try to do it. In this case, I would recommend you to empty your stomach and be prepared to have such a rich meal. Besides, the waitress, Ms Napat, was helpful to introduce each dish for us once they served on the table. The price of the set was so valuable that you shouldn't miss it. Be reminded that to make a reservation in advance.

Dear Alaskacrab,

Many Thanks for your patronage and support to our Spice Market, it was our pleasure to have you with us for your dining experience. This restaurant has been opened for a decades, in order to give more Thai traditional touch to the guests who come for dining, we plan not to change the interior décor and wish you can feel the Thai cultural. Meanwhile, our two signature set menus are very popular with good feedback from guests. We do appreciate the time you have taken to leave us your valuable comments and review and delighted to know that you enjoyed every moment.
We look forward to your returning in a near future.
