“Wonderful Stay in Paradise!”
Reviewed 14 October 2011

This is a great place to stay in Bangkok. David Lees the owner personally is there to oversee and ensure the Guest is happy.I loved it! The food was great, the service was great, the massage was great, close to BTS transport system. Will defintely go back next time in Bangkok.

Room Tip: I was in a great room, super large but the bedroom was upstairs and it was a little hot.

Thank you David for a wonderful stay at the Ariyasomvillas, what an amazing place - 5 star in everything from the rooms, the pool, the location, the breakfasts and the wonderful meals in your beautiful restaurant. Thank you thank you thank you for taking such good care of us - we had the most wonderful time at your beautiful villa. I hope to bring my mother and my sister back next year.

Don’t let the location at the end of the narrow soy(street) put you off staying at this fantastic boutique style hotel. The staff and the owner were extremely knowledgable and accommodating welcoming us with sound advice about Bangkok and surrounds. The hotel pool and surrounds were relaxing after a busy day’s sightseeing.
The room was furnished with traditional teak furniture and we were able to access the room quite early in the morning after an overnight flight. Overall a great stay and will definitely return if he happened to be stopping over in Bangkok again.

This is a beautiful stop in the midst of a city. The gardens are beautiful.
David your host is very helpful and friendly. His front desk ladies are fantastic. Everything that we asked of them they were so helpful.
The restaurant is very good with a lovely swimming pool and free internet. Our room was huge and stunning.
This is a 10 minute walk to the skyrail which is easily done.

Room Tip: Can be noisy if you are next to the canal boats but this is a beautiful tropical haven in the midst...

If you wish or dream to be treated asa relevant visitor an small city just in the crowdy Bangkok, while mantainig the top quality of services as expected in that wonderfull city, Ariyasomvilla is the place to be. We are a copule who have been last september in Thailand and in the way in and out we stopped by both times (in total seven nights) at this very unique place. Everything is superb, room, food, people at the hotel,
I have been travelling to different countries, cities, etc since the 70's of last century and this is a place that I can easely reccomend, no complaints at all.

I’m hoping for a return to Bangkok soon - - three treasures top my list: the reclining Buddha, Chatuchak Market - - and the Ariyasomvilla. Don’t miss it!
If you’re looking for an exceptional lodging experience in Bangkok, Ariyasomvilla will not let you down. The décor is classic, Thai, stunning. All of the staff will treat you like royalty, without being in your face. And, as an additional treat, you’ll find yourself surrounded by landscape architecture perfection, right down to the carefully planned mix of sweet scents of lavish tropic foliage.
Ariyasomvilla is an oasis from the excesses of Bangkok. The design of the pool is striking. We found it a perfect setting to relax and refresh each evening.
As an additional plus, the elevated train and water taxis are only 10 minute walks away – so you can enjoy full freedom to sightsee and shop on your own schedule.

Located at the end of Soi 1 off bustling Sukhumvit Rd, this boutique hotel with only 24 rooms is a hidden oasis in Bangkok. Perfect for those who want a more authentic “Thai” experience over a modern chain hotel.
We booked a smaller studio room, thinking that as we would be out all day we wouldn’t need more but we both travelled with large cases (for all the shopping)! & there was nowhere to put them. While this would be perfect for the solo traveller or a couple with small bags next time we will reserve a larger room.
Beautifully designed, with a mix of antiques and clever Thai design the ambience was lovely.
The bathroom size was fine, with a beautiful blue & white porcelain sink. Only downside was that it seemed impossible to shower without water flowing on to the floor from the bath surround.
Good bathroom amenities were provided, with 2 bottles of water daily and little extras like toothbrushes, razors, comb in addition to the usual shampoo, conditioner & lotion. Robes, slippers and safe in the wardrobe are provided along with umbrellas, essential for the rainy season.
Free wifi is available but was occasionally slow and patchy (Thai style!).
The hotel restaurant is vegetarian, with an excellent a la carte breakfast served and a great choice on the menu. We had breakfast included and nothing was too much trouble. Some other reviewers had trouble being understood by the Thai staff but we managed without any issues. The coffee is great, which was a lovely surprise - Asian holidays often mean terrible coffee.
David, the very genial host has been in Thailand for 20 years. His wife’s family owned the original house & she designs the lovely landscaping.
A spa on site offers traditional Thai massage from an elevated rooftop platform overlooking the pool, very relaxing. Prices were reasonable for a Bangkok hotel spa - I paid 800 baht (about A$23) for an hour of classic Thai massage.
We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it was a really good size.
For those who want to relax rather than venture into the bustle of Bangkok there are quiet sitting areas, a library with computer for guest use and little corners in the garden for reflection.
If you must venture out, the hotel's location off a main road means that a short walk to the end of the street gives you plenty of transport options, and the staff were always helpful in getting taxi's when required.
All in all a lovely visit and we would definitely return again and recommend Ariyasom Villa to other travellers.

Room Tip: If you are travelling light, a studio will be cosy but fine. Otherwise you'll need the next room...
