it is quite good hotel, not much to say about it, it is budget friendly, nice helpful staff, clean simple rooms, the restaurant is very good, overall it is good quality for limited budget, good for couples or young travelers without kids.

This was our second stay at the Vaboir Lodge. We arrived late evening on the 26th December.
Check in was friendly and easy. We booked a suite again. Had a light snack in the bar area and a couple of well deserved singha's to unwind.
We were collected by Asia Evolution Tours 8am and driven to Baan Rim Nam at Klong Prao Beach Koh Chang. We will definately stay at the Vaboir lodge again.

I had a stay at this hotel for 2 nights and they offered good service. Rooms are very neat and Staffs are very cooperative and very helpful. They had offered free shuttle service even I wanted to go near by Grocery shop ( 7 Elevan ) . I was very impressive with their service and I would recommend for all of clients

Stayed at the hotel for 4 days. Room was clean and tidy(suite room). Staff were nice and friendly, understand english even though they dont speak them well. The food and the prices at the restaurant were reasonable and there were a lot to choose from. 7-11 store less than a 100m from the hotel. The only issue was the location. From airport to hotel cost abt 250thb, ard 30 mins. The nearest MRT station (lat phrao) is 15 mins away by taxi, considering the heavy traffic at the area, 80 to 100thb. And lat phrao is abt 7 stations away from sukhumvit! If you choose to stay here, make sure you print out the address in thai language, can be found on their website. Safe a lot of effort communicating with the taxi drivers.

Room Tip: Get the suite room, much more comfortable.

We booked this hotel as a stop-over from our late landing international flight one night to our domestic connection the next day. It was roughly half way between the two main airports in Bangkok which was ideal as we landed at one and departed from the other.
I don't really have much negative to stay. The room was quite large and well appointed. It was very clean and coming from China much nicer than I had anticipated. The only two gripes I have was that the hot water didn't appear to be working which wasn't really necessary given the humidity/heat and the bed was a little rickety for the after hours action I had in mind. This is by no means to say it was unstable or weak just not up to more strenuous tasks.
Otherwise staff were very friendly and helpful ordering us taxis and carrying luggage (seems to be the norm in Thailand though). They also have a nice restaurant that is open 24hrs with spacious outdoor bar area. We had breakfast there - moderately pricey for western cuisine but of acceptable quality, coffee was above average for mainstream Asia.
Overall, if you need a stop over to transfer between Bangkok's two airports I would recommend this place.

the hotel is close the the airport, that why we booked here for our last day in BKK so we couldn't miss our flight the next day. room is spacious for 3 members of my family and so clean (not what i espected for a stopover place like this), hot powerful shower. food in the 24h restaurant are quite delicious, the cozzy bar is ok with a band whose play live. staff are verry friendly, they did asked and gave us the wakeup call for the next day while we was sleep like dead. good hotel, love to stay there again if i back to bkk.

Let's be honest, if you're looking at a 390-600 baht per night hotel your expectations shouldn't be too high. What you are getting is a firm bed and pillow, mini fridge, hot shower, a few bugs in your moderately clean room and cold A/C that may smell funny at times - or is that just Bangkok in general? What you won't get is a room at the Swissotel and more than two days worth of wifi connectivity or lobby computer usage. Free tuk tuk is available for short jaunts.

If you take a cab from the airport use the meter, they will try to tell you it's cheaper without and quote you around 3-400 for the trip when in actuality it will take 190-250 depending on traffic. There's not much around the hotel, if you are looking for a good place to eat spot something that is busy - that is usually an indication that the food is edible. You can also head back to Lat Phrao Rd and hang a right with a 10 minute walk to the mall and very busy street markets.

One of the best things you can do for yourself if you plan to stay in Bangkok or Thailand for any period of time is to pick up an AIS sim card for your unlocked phone or tablet. Using the Google maps application is truely indispensable. Not only will it help you to navigate the labyrinth that is Bangkok but you can view bus route numbers in the application itself. If you try to catch the bus information from one of the bus stands or on the bus itself you had better read Thai or you will be SOL. The sim itself is 50 baht with a months worth of 1gb of data only running you 350 all the way to 800 for unlimited (3gb before throttling). Cheap for the peace of mind.
