I was on last june, july again for 9 days here and some things have changed. There is a new manager, but I think owners are the same. The most important thing is that they must have made some kind of arrangement with some university, as they have now quite a lot of universitary students as residens. This changes some things from my last visit:

1. There are less avalaible rooms to choose, fortuntately one of the cleaners remembered us and she cleaned a good room for us while we ate some delicious food in the restaurant by the pool.
2. Prices in the restaurant menu has cut 50%, you can order anything for less than 50 bahts per dish, great. Also the restaurant now is open from 10 to 14 and from 16 to 20, at those hours you can order any dish in the menu. Great
3. From monday to friday, early in the morning students get breakfast in the restaurant until 10.00 so if you are at the pool you see them preparing their meals, but they don't disturb at all, they are quite and respectful and eat their meal inside the restaurant.
4. Tuk tuk service to the main road seems to be not working anymore, I don't know if this a new policy or maybe the driver was angry with the management, as he did not gave as nor one ride ... bad thing ...

Staff is friendly, kind, and not at all disturbing, we fell at home here really.

You should think that a hotel full of students is not the right place to stay quiet, well I assure you silence and peace was as present as always here, students are so quiet you cannot imagine the hotel is full of them, and they do not use the swimming pool never, I guess they cannot do it as you cannot have their breakfast either, so apart from watching them having brekfast and some times sharing the lifter with them you won't notice they are hosts ... quite difficult in any western country I can think of ...

Another advantage is that the price of the washing machines is now only 20 bahts.

So this place is still a great place to stay in bangkok, we made no reservation, just walked into the lobby and made it then. They keep with the stupid prices if you don't book full weeks, we paid 5500 bahts por 7 days and afterwards 2 more days for 1500 baht a day ... same service, but very different price ... stupid, this should be changed for sure, you feel silly paying double, even it is still good price for the big rooms you get.

The swimming pool is fully sunny from dawn untill 13.00, then shades remains for the rest of the day.

Another thing that should be changed is pillows, they are a little bit on the hard side, uncomfortable if you are used to soft ones, so take this into account, and don't forget to bring your kitchenware if you plan to eat something in the room as there is none, although this is a minor problem now with the restaurant schedule and prices.

Room Tip: Rooms at the pool side get sun in the morning, at the back of the building just the opposite, so choose the room according to your usual schedules.

We could not find this hotel and taxi drivers at victory monument would not take us as it was too close, but they would not give us directions either. We found it after many wrong turns and bad directions of people sending us the wrong way. When we arrived we could not find reception as there is not a sign for it(3rd floor). They say there is a free shuttle service but that only takes you to the main road and its a long walk up the main road with no pavement to victory monument. It,s a nightmare of a location, I would not go back.

I rented two rooms, one for one month for me and my wife, and another one for two weeks for our son. The stay was great, we choosed the pool side, and all said from other reviewers is quite right. I will add some new things, you can smoke in the pool, there is an ash tray in every sun bed, the sun beds has no cushion and no towels are provided, but they are comfortable, although a little bit too shady for our taste. The sauna works great.

There is practically no kitchenware, so if you are planning to use it, you'd better bring your own or buy them. The lack of microwave or fireplace is a nuisance too. But you have water boiler.

The english of the staff is complicated to say the least, but we managed with google translate that can now talk thai. This was helpful when the english speaking workers were not there.

If you rent for instance, 2 weeks and 3 days they will charge the days not at the week price, but as if they were days alone, quite more expensive, and quite inconvenient too ... this should be changed.

When you arrive yo have to pay the total amount rented twice if you are not staying solo days, when you check out they will give you back half of what you paid discounted the water and electricity (quite cheap as someone has said). This is inconvenient, as you normally go to your country back, and having several thousand bahts in your pocket is not useful. They do not charge it back to your credit card, even i you want it. You have to change the money back in the airport (there is no bank around the hotel where you can buy foreign coin).

What we were most impressed was the cleanliness of the whole building, simply amazing, and tile floors are a must. Staff is very kind and with easy smile.

We had a great time, and probably we'll be back.

If you need to know something else ask me.

Room Tip: As many have said, pick a room by the pool, you will not have sun in the afternoon, unless you want the opposite, of course.

I stayed here for just over one month from late March to late April 2012. The reviews before mine are fairly accurate so there is not much more to add. I will note though that the rooms do not have UV protection windows or dark curtains (but have light colour blinds), so it can get fairly warm in the suites. If possible you should ask for a room on the east side of the building so you only get the morning sun. For the most part I had to always have the air conditioner on when I was in the room. Due to the poor quality windows, when the air was turned off, it would only take about 5 minutes before it would get uncomfortable. For long term stays you are responsible for water and electricity. My water bill was very small, only about 50B for the entire time. I paid about 1400B for electricity, mostly due to the air conditioner. Everything was unplugged when I was not in the room. The restaurant was good and having a pool was great. The hotel was not busy with guests. I rarely saw anyone else. I don’t believe they advertise well enough, otherwise this place would be busier. The staff are friendly and helpful. It was a great stay, but it would be even better if the window situation was corrected.

Room Tip: choose the east side of the building so you only get the morning sun

It's a very nice and cost effective hotel, with clean, modern, spacious and well furnished rooms, equipped with everthing (fridge, tv, ensuite bathroom, wifi connection, air conditiong, etc.). The place is really quiet and at the same time within a really walking distance from any kind of shops, atm, markets, restaurants, pubs, bus and skytrain stations. The staff is extremely polite, friendly, and helpful, also with a good and cheap restaurant. They also have a pool and good laundry machines. Not everybody, within the staff, can talk english, but at the reception and into the restaurant they do. There is also a car with driver (for free) that can bring guests to do shopping at the closest shops. You can also easily find lots of taxis (even motorcycle taxis) just passing in front of the hotel, anyway the staff will assist you for any request. I would surely recommend this hotel both for long and short stay. I spent 10 days there and I really enjoyed my stay.
