Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok

We ordered a 2 room suite for a family of 5 people and were upgraded to the largest suite on the 35th floor. The best ever decorated suite I've seen!!!

What was good: Large and beautiful suite with 2 rooms on each side, 4 balconies, kitchen and large living room, large swimming pool, coffee & tee in the room, breakfast with many variety of food, good Wi-Fi, safe in the room, fresh water every day.

What was bad: Not close to city center (15 minutes by taxi), some taxi drivers did not want to return us back to the hotel claiming it is too far, no computers in lobby for hotel guests.

Room Tip: Get a room with the riverside view

Stayed 5 nights in August for a sales conference. Food, service, rooms and bars were excellent, especially considering we were at the buffet for 4 days in a row. Good variation in food and beautifully cooked.

Conference facilities were all that was needed. Rooms very large (we had the 'more cost effective') and a fabulous view over the river.

Free ferry to Saphan Taksin from where all of the tourist ferries left or the MRT into Bangkok.

Room Tip: Standard room with River View was all I needed but the people who had the suites raved about them (q...

We had only intended to stay 4 days but ended up booking back in on our return to Bangkok.
We had a one bedroom suite which was spacious and clean, with views of the river and city.
There is a regular shuttle that takes you to the pier where you can catch the ferries or the sky rail so its handy where ever you are going. Pool area is lovely, great breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Free Wi Fi was a bonus

This place was top notch. The service was impecable. We were escorted to our room and shown its amenities. When we had a request, it was attended to immediately. We did pay a few dollars extra for a room overlooking the river, and it was surely worth it. I would definitely suggest this for travelers. I am a 63 year old woman having a reunion with my 31 year old daughter whom I had not seen in over a year. The Chatrium made our visit special. They upgraded our room to a suite. It was beautiful!!! The breakfast buffet was large and varied. Omelets cooked to order, yet also traditional Thai dishes. I used their workout facility and found it great. Three treadmills, three stationary bikes, free weights, etc. The pool was also beautiful. The beds are wonderfully cushy. The rooms and bathrooms are western-modern. For those from the western world who have a bit of trouble adjusting to eastern customs, this place will make you feel at home. You can go out to the streets and experience the authentic Thai world, but return to the Chatrium for feeling like you're home.
Let me say a few words about their location... Bangkok is a HUGE city. It suffers the same traffic problems as any big city. The immediate neighborhood in which this hotel is located does not offer a whole lot. But it's really easy to take the Chatrium ferry boat to the pier where one can catch a taxi or train to a subsequent location. We did find ourselves in the downtown area one night. We were tired and thought we'd grab a cab instead of the train. We stopped FIVE taxis and all of them refused to take us back to our hotel. It was apparently just too far considering the traffic they would encounter. We returned via train/boat.

Room Tip: Pay the few extra dollars for the river view room.

we stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday. It is a large hotel - 36 floors. We were on the 9th floor. They upgraded us to a riverside suite which was great. The pool area is good overlooking the river. It is in a convenient location very close to the main pier on the river. There is free boat every 15 mins which takes you to the pier. Staff on the desk recommended good restaurant for our evening meal. I would stay there again.

the location is too far away, having to catch a boat to Thaksin then a train to the real city is a pain after a day or two! great big room, but not worth being so distant. no taxi drivers knew the hotel, getting a taxi home was so hard
