The Chatrium was the first stop on our recent trip to Thailand and Cambodia. It was a great introduction to the country. The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and anxious to please. We arrived pretty early in the morning, before our room was ready. The staff provided us with Wi-Fi logins, and a temporary room card to allow us to access the pool.We opted to use their shuttle to the Taksin (Sathorn)Bridge then used the Chao Phraya Express river boats for a river tour. Upon our return, our room was ready and our luggage was in it.
During our too short three day stay, the hotel and staff were wonderful. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a large selection of international foods available, from standard American breakfast to Asian, European and Thai options. Our 26th floor river view room was incredible.
The one complaint I've seen is that the hotel is out of the way, not close to downtown. However, the hotels frequent shuttle to the Taksin bridge, where there is a Skytrain station, and access to all of the river bus and taxis made getting around very easy. The shuttle ran every 15 minutes until midnight, and the river taxis cost between 20 - 40 Baht (.75 - $1.25).
If I have the opportunity to return to Bangkok, I would definitely stay at the Chatrium again.More
