We arrived late evening after a long flight from the UK and a hectic taxi ride across Bangkok from the airport, then from the minute we pulled up outside the Chatrium, this place ticked all our boxes. Check in was faultless, the 19th floor room (more of a suite really) was fantastic with a massive bedroom, huge lounge with a mini kitchen at one end, a great bathroom with bath and stand alone shower all topped off with a big balcony with a river view to die for. The buffet breakfast had loads of choice with hot or cold options to suit everyones taste and can be eaten either in the airconditioned restuarant or on the terrance overlooking the river. The location of the Chatrium is great and the short boat ride to the main terminal a few hundred yards up-river allows you to link with other ferries or the sky train. The pool area accessed from the 6th floor is pleasant, spotlessly clean with quality beds and chairs surrounding the long narrow main pool - perfect for a relaxing hour or two. Every member of staff we had contact with were absolutely great, they were polite, friendly and made every effort to make sure your stay is problem free.
Overall - A well managed brilliant hotel in a good location with super staff

We stayed there 5 nights for a honeymoon.
Starting saying that it was the best value hotel we had in our honeymoon. The room is great, like a modern boutique one. Great space and views.
The swimming pool area is fantastic.
Customer service could be better though. Excursion prices too high comparing with the market. Location is OK, but you need to take the free boat shuttle to reach the underground station or the main pier.

A great stay in a lovely hotel, lifted by exceptional customer service throughout our stay. Staff were faultless, always prepared to go the extra mile to help us out. The location is great and the free river shuttle service helps with any sightseeing trips. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: River views are well worth the small additional charge.

The Chatrium is simply one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, it was amazing. I've stayed in numerous luxury hotels around the world, but this has to be up there in my top 3.

All of the staff were absolutely superb and couldn't do enough for you. The room was simply fabulous, it was huge for a Bangkok hotel!

Don't hesitate in booking this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

Chatrium Riverside
Firstly, let me say that we couldn’t fault a thing at Chatrium Riverside – it met all our expectations and more. The photos that you see on the web site are exactly what you get.
Location /length of stay Circumstances precluded us having a two centre holiday, so we needed wherever we were staying in the city to be comfortable and relaxing. We didn’t want to be overwhelmed by noise, traffic and heat – Chatrium Riverside proved to be the perfect choice. Right on the river, with a cooling breeze and easy access to the Skytrain, expressboats and the Asiatique complex. There is a 7/11 supermarket only a minute’s walk away, where we stocked up on drinks and nibbles (and milk for tea!). We went sight-seeing in the mornings, and retired to the gorgeous pool deck in the afternoons – bliss.
Room As we were staying longer than 3 nights, we were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment with river view – and what a view it was! From 5-7 every evening we were on our balcony, enjoying wine and watching the sun set and city lights sparkle on… fabulous. The apartment was spacious and spotless, with very good facilities. Super TVs with English language movie channels as well as news channels. There was a kitchen, which we didn’t cook in, but the kettle and full size fridge/freezer were really useful. Excellent bathroom set up. We had an extra bed in the sitting room for my daughter while she stayed with us – there was plenty of room.
Facilities and food There is a welcoming lobby bar, overlooking a little garden with waterfall, bamboo and a pathway to the boat pier, all lit beautifully at night. There are two restaurants. We ate breakfast in The River Barge riverside terrace every day – huge excellent international selection. We also tried the international dinner buffet – superb – and went back 3 times more. Room service was fine too. The pool deck is big and attractive, with comfortable beds and chairs, fresh towels, Jacuzzi pool as well as the main pool, and a children’s pool. There’s also a pool bar which serves good food. There’s a spa next door in a sister Chatrium residence but we didn’t get around to it.
Staff The staff were exceptionally good – nothing was any trouble and they did all they could to ensure we were having an enjoyable stay. This applied to everyone, whatever job they were doing. The Concierge will book restaurants and cars for you – whatever you need. The hotel doorman will get you a taxi immediately you request it.
Getting around – things to see The hotel offers a free boat service - every half an hour in the morning and every 15 mins in the afternoon and evening. The 5 minute boat ride takes you to the River transport hub - Tha Sathon pier/Thaksin Station - where you can pick up an expressboat or the Skytrain. It’s a 15 minute walk in the other direction to the Asiatique complex – we ate there 3 or 4 times – brilliant places and food. Asiatique is a shopping and restaurant complex, with beautifully lit avenues and street entertainment. 4 minutes in a taxi, but we felt safe enough to walk and take in the local streetlife. Taxis are ridiculously cheap. Or you can hail a tuk tuk – ALWAYS negotiate – you can sometimes get the fare halved!
We took a taxi to the big weekend Chatuchak market and were able to hail one very easily to get back to the hotel . We used Skytrain to get to the shopping district and it was very easy – again station staff were very helpful. We went to the Aquarium in the Siam Centre and enjoyed that. We used the express boats every day and LOVED them. Don’t bother with the tourist boat – just get on an expressboat (they don’t all stop at the same piers, but there’s one line that stops everywhere). The conductress will ask for payment once you’re on board – 15 THB, rather than the 40 THB on the tourist boat. We had a very handy tourist information map which showed all the interesting things to see along the river (we got it at the info kiosk outside the Grand Palace). From the pier at Tha Sathon, it took 20 minutes to the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and 25 to the Grand Palace, with loads to see along the way. We went to the flower market, the veg market and these were all only a few minutes walk from the boat piers. TIP: you must cover your shoulders and legs (men and women) if you want to go into the palace or any temple. There are some good restaurants at The River shopping complex too – great for lunch overlooking the river. Lots of things we didn’t get around to – the canals for example, so we will just have to go back sometime…
To repeat – Chatrium Riverside was GREAT.

Room Tip: Choos a room on the upper floors with a river view - there are 36 floors, the top one being the res...

We checked into the Chatrium for a short 2 day stay in Bangkok. The staff were incredibly friendly and even provided us with a room upgrade as we were celebrating our anniversary. We had a one bedroom river view room which was very spacious to include a living room, kitchen, balcony, large bath and bedroom. The breakfast at the hotel is wonderful - lots of option. All of the food prices are a bit high though (breakfast was 600 baht/person). The location of this hotel is what we really liked. It was outside of the frantic city pace but still just a short boat ride in on the free hotel shuttle boat. Being right on the river is convenient for transfers and only about a 7 minute ride to the main pier where you can catch other public transport boats or a main metro line for the train.

Room Tip: The river view rooms are quite nice.

We stayed 4 nights at the Chatrium. We arranged a pickup at the airport that brought us right to the hotel at 4am. Checking was a breeze as all the paperwork was ready in our river view suite. Take advantage of the complimentary river shuttle boat to go to the sky train station. It beats using a cab or tuk-tuk! The morning buffet breakfast was awesome, lots of variety and fresh fruit and juices. Very friendly and efficient staff. We felt that we were treated as if we were their most important clients. We would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: A very modern night market Asiatique is a 10 minute walk . Lots of great restaurants there!
