“Nice hotel but not exceptional in this price range.”

£70 discounted price not uncommon in BKK and maybe even a little over-priced. Was shocked at House Wine @450B a glass and half hour wait for food (2 people) despite not being busy and we counted 8 chefs hanging about. Internet connection per device was a nuisance as had to request multiple accounts from reception. Also, in the middle of the night was surprised to see a medium-sized cockroach on our bathroom floor. The lift card system was also a chore as everyone waited to put their cards in and select floors (more like an FBI underground bunker). Surprised ballroom floor was 'off' and deserted so early too as was the pool/bar (could this not be made a night-time facility?). In the UK this hotel would be considered amazing and , don't get me wrong, was very impressive, just in Thailand was not out of the ordinary (in my opinion) and therefore would not warrant a recommendation, sorry. Overall 3-4*

Room Tip: Specifically request a river-facing room lest you end up facing the neighboring tower-block

Service at Chatrium is "Average" but within my expectations for a large hotel in Bangkok. the Ferry to BTS sky train is wonderfully convenient. It operates like clockwork.

Brand new. nicely located. A good hotel for the money.

Room Tip: For an excellent view, we recommend staying on a high floor and requesting a north-facing room (view...

We had an extended stay at the Chatrium Riverside Hotel. My husband took a little mis step when we were out the first day and he ended up with his foot elevated for the next two weeks. We were there for almost 3 weeks. The staff was really wonderful and the room we had was excellent.

A nice tourist hotel with beautiful view over the river. Rooms are nice but sparsely furnished. The apartments have a full kitchen, but no cooking utensils, nor plates and glasses. On request an absolute minimal amount (a wok, a few glasses and plates) was provided (after repeated requests).
The restaurant has also nice views over the river. The breakfast buffet is good, but very meat dominated, and the same for the evening buffet, although there were more non meat options. What was surprising was the inconsistency on the quality of the food – sometimes it was excellent, other times it was just poor.
We stayed for 3 weeks in the hotel in a two bedroom apartment, while I started working at a new company, my son starting school next door at the Shrewsbury International School and my wife finding her way in Bangkok, where we will live in the foreseeable future. Therefore we were not the usual tourists, but tried to live there.
The apartment was smaller than that originally showed to me. There was also regular loud noise, later found to be related to the lifts. When complaining about it, I was kind of ignored and apparently no other apartment was available. Very poor service. Was it the language barrier (very few staff at the hotel speak any English) or unwillingness to help?
We have stayed at many hotels in Thailand before and were almost always impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the people in general – Thai smiles. That was something we missed at this hotel – staff circulated a lot and even after 2 weeks we were not greeted by name or in a friendly fashion. Strange for Thailand.

We left LAX on New Year's Day, and arrived in Bangkok in the middle of the night. We booked the hotel from the states because we wanted to know we would be taken care of upon arrival. And we were! Spent the $50 to get the hotel to pick us up at 2:00am. Upon arrival there was fresh fruit in out suite, but we ordered room service. Which came very quickly.

The morning breakfast is a buffet which caters to many different nationalities. We mostly ate by the river, and it was peaceful, watching the commuter boats go by.

The hotel is close to a 7-11 and a Starbucks! America can seem so close sometimes....
They also have a riverboat fairy that will take you to the BTS.

The staff was always helpful and kind.
Our package included afternoon cocktails. We only managed to get to that floor once during our 5 night stay. Not sure I would book it that way again.

Beautifully located on the river's edge, sweeping views up and downstream, spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The buffet breakfast and dinner either outside on the river terrace or indoors are generous and full of Western and Asian variety. The Dim Sum lunch on the 36th floor restaurant is great also. Great pool & spa too.

Room Tip: Book a riverview room

The hotel rooms are spacious with views of either the city or the river.
The dining area made it for us, that you can sit outside by the river while eating either dinner or breakfast. All the staff are friendly and helpful too.

Room Tip: We stayed in both a city view room and river view room. The only problem at the moment is that build...
