“Good Value for Money”
Reviewed 21 January 2011

Spent a total of 3 nights in a two bedroom grand suite. The hotel's location is a bit out of the way and is a long taxi drive from the airport. Once there they offer a shuttle boat to the sky train & taxi boat station which is very convenient & only a short boat ride away. The suite was very well laid out and the balcony overlooking the river is great. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in with fantastic linen etc. The breakfast was a bit disappointing & the service was very bad especially if you sit outside on the terrace. We eventually cleared our own dishes away.

Wow. We booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews on TripAdvisor and I can only add to them.

This hotel is outstanding. We stayed for 4 nights and upgraded to a one-bedroom suite with a river view on arrival. The staff were extremely helpful and we checked in with no problems despite arriving at 0800 on a Sunday. The views were brilliant and well worth the 10 quid per night upgrade charge and the facilities (apart from the ludicrously expensive internet) were second to none. In terms of location it is a little far out but if you are not in a rush the free hotel boat drops you off at a boat/metro interchange from where you can pretty much reach anywhere you might want to.

An excellent, luxurious ending to a 5 month backpacking and "roughing it" holiday!

Chatrium Suites is an excellent option for any kind of traveler to Bangkok. The hotel is brand new with beautiful, large, well appointed rooms and top notch service.

Postives: The hotel is brand new with beautiful facilities including a pool and huge rooms. The service was extremely helpful with all of our requests. The views of the river are spectacular.

Negatives: The location on the river makes for beautiful views but it is a little far from the main tourist location such as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The taxi rides to the touristy areas can reach 45 minutes during rush hour. The WIFI was really expensive as well. Overall, the hotel was amazing, though.

We have a Suite overlooking the river - wow!

The buffet breakfast was really good, loads of choices with an egg chef.

The hotel is faultless, but the location is a bit on the downside, but it's only a tuk tuk away!

I stayed at Chatrium suites for 5 nights over new years 2011 and it was perhaps the best hotel experience I have ever had. If you take in to account value, then it was far and away the best.

I began looking at TripAdvisor for my Bangkok stay and saw Chatrium as the #1 ranked hotel, and also saw the low rate rooms. I thought there must be a catch. But no, there is no catch, this place is pretty cheap and truly exceptional. We stayed in a 2 BR suite with another couple on the 27th floor (I think?) Room was beautiful, clean, modern, 2 balconies, amazingly comfortable mattresses! Nice bathrooms too.

The pool has a cool vanishing edge and overlooks the river, very beautiful.

The location of the hotel is nice, its on the river, great views, and a hotel run private water taxi that goes to the main water taxi hub. Slight drawback is that it is not downtown, but not that far from it.

Brunch is included with the room price, and its delicious and plentiful.

The Staff are all excellent and friendly and go the extra mile

Perhaps another minor drawback is that drinks and the restaurant are pricey.

If I ever come back to Bangkok, guarantee I will stay here.

Having stayed in several suites in around the world including Bangkok, we chose the Chatrium as it was overlookimg the river. It is amazing value! We had a beautiful 2bed suite over looking the river, with a balcony so we could sit outside and take in the views.
The breakfast is the best we have ever had in a hotel, and sitting outside at the pier resturant in the evening with the buffet for thb750 just 'blew us away' yes, we did have to wait a while for a snack from the pool bar, but so what , its Thailand! Elsewhere the sevice was superb!
The Chatruim well deserves to be no2 hotel in Bangkok, but to us it is no!

We stayed at the Chatrium Suites for 3 nights over Xmas. From the minute we arrived at the hotel, the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The room was lovely - clean, great bathroom, nice big bed, kitchenette and balcony. Also, we heard very little noise from other guests.

Breakfast at the hotel was very good - a massive buffet with loads of Western and Asian options. It was sometimes a little difficult to get served tea/coffee, so maybe it would have been better to have them as self-service. We also had dinner at the hotel on the first night, which was a special Xmas eve buffet. It turned out to be very good with lots of yummy options - sushi, sashimi, dim sum, stir fries, sea food, italian, etc... Also, there was unlimited wine and beer, which we realised made the price very reasonable as we had yet to realise that wine is very expensive in Thailand!

The pool area was great. Very modern and a good size pool with lots of loungers and palm trees and great views across the city and river. Also there is a pool bar and cafe serving good food.

The shuttle boat to one of the main piers and sky train was very handy. The shuttle ran regularly and only took a few minutes. From the main pier, it was easy to get boats to the main sights and was much quicker and cheaper than going by road.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel as it's very good value for money and of a great standard.
