As a travel agent, I am always looking out for great deals for my clients. Chatrium exceeded my expectations not only in location but also in service and accomodations.. The rooms (the nice staff showed me 3 different categories) are big and comfortable. The hotel restaurant offered good food and the Japanese restaurant nextdoor was convenient and also very good. The rooms with the city view mixed with the river view were awesome. All the staff we met were very helpful and professional. We extended our 2 nite stay to 4 nights the first time and booked again on the way back from Cambodia. Thank you Mr Art (desk Manager) for being so accomodating.

The free Chatrium boat takes you to the central pier where you can take a boat that stops at diffrent points of interests including the Royal Palace and important temples. Going shopping downtown? No problem - just take the sky train also from the same pier
It was so nice to "come home" to a wonderful place after a full day of touring.

PS - only suggestion: Hotel wifi should be free to guests staying more than 1 nite. It cost me a lot to get online --- good reason for my late review.

We spent four days/nights in this hotel, everything was great!
- great support via email regarding a lot of questions I asked in advance / before arrival
- very frienfly stuff in all areas
- spacious, clean and quite rooms
- great breakfast
- great free shuttle service via boat to train station (BTS)
- there is nothing to complain
In case we come back to Bangkok, we would stay in at Chatrium Suites Bangkok again.

The rooms are large and modern, good maintenance. Helpful staff. You can get good help if you ask about the services of the hotel, they know little about general information (transportation, restaurants). The boat to central pier is a big plus. No free internet.

I fled to the Chatruim Suites after my other hotel in Bangkok had a rat issue. The Chatrium Suites was a beautiful breeze of fresh air. It was perfect. The hotel is absolutely stunning. The lobby alone is gorgeous. The staff Is very friendly and helpful. They speak English which was also very helpful. Our room was beautiful. And the view of the city took my breath way. We stayed on the 30th floor in the 1 bedroom suite. The room was spotless. It had a huge kitchen and living room and separate bedroom. The bathroom was very large and had a separate tub. The hotel was so comforting to come back to after a day in Bangkok. The restaurant was wonderful, especially the view and live music every night. It was a great way to end the day. There is a Starbucks also right next door which was very convenient. Overall, I had an amazing experience at the hotel and cannot wait to return.

This hotel is really lovely and good value for money when you consider other hotels of the same class. It's by the river and has a free boat shuttle service from its own private pier to the main public pier where you can catch the sky train or another boat to get further along the river. They have a great breakfast selection and you have the option of sitting outside by the river to enjoy this. The rooms are lovely and spacious (we had a grand suite) as well as clean and comfortable. The facilities are good - gym, large pool, restaurants. If you do stay here and miss breakfast one day you should check out the dim sum buffet at the restaurant on floor 36 for 700BHT per person - a bit expensive but worth it for the food and luxury with view.

The only thing we weren't happy with was the concierge service... We wanted to go to the Ancient City and we asked what the best way to go would be. He immediately said taxi and called to find out how much it would be and quoted us 1500TBH each way. We asked if there were any alternative ways to get there and he said no. We then did some research online and found that you could get 2 buses totaling 26BHT which would take you right outside the entrance or you could take the sky train 40TBH to On Nut and then a taxi for 180TBH... both much cheaper and better options.

While in Bangkok please beware of tuk tuk drivers quoting you very low prices and asking if they can take you to just one stop on the way... they get fuel vouchers from the companies you stop at and not only does this waste LOADS of time in bangkok traffic but they are likely to ask you for just one more stop after the first "one stop" and so on - don't get sucked in!

Also, beware of people you meet in the street / praying in the temples etc. that seem friendly and just happen to be there, being helpful, by recommending you go to certain bargain places (i.e. jewelery shops / tailors etc.). They will tell you they are a teacher or someone working in the London Thai Embassy and here on business - generally something that seems respectable and non-threatening but don't be fooled - they will get their commission after passing you onto these so-called great shops that are really scams.

We arrived late at night, check in staff were friendly and quickly showed us to our room. We had a river view room, which was nicely furnished and clean on the 27th floor. There was a great view of the city and river, but not sure worth the extra we paid. The bathroom was large with seperate shower and bath, lots of cupboard space and for the first time since we had arrived in Thailand reasonably comfy beds!!
The mini bar was a rip off, as usual in large hotels, but there is a 7-11 on the complex so no need to worry.
We ate in the restaurant for evening meals twice, the buffet option offered a lot of choice but was the same every night as was the entertainment. The only bonus for the buffet option were certain drinks such as wine were included for an extra 99 baht which was good if you wanted a couple of drinks as the drinks prices were expensive to say the least.
The breakfast buffet was good, and offered a wide choice of thai, fruit, pastries, cooked breakfasts.
The pool is massive and has a view over the river which is lovely.
The major downside for me was that the complimentary boat to the skytrain station stopped at 22:30pm which I thought was too early, and meant you had to endure the arguement with Bangkok taxi drivers to put the meter on!!!
Overall I think for the price per night compared to other hotels in Bangkok is more than reasonable, and I would recommend the hotel to someone wanting to stay in a slightly more serene part of bangkok!
