“A slice of history in the middle of Bangkok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

We just spent 4 nights at BPN and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Initially when we walked in the noise emanating from outside was very noticeable however as we are from Phnom Penh, "noise" is relative and we very soon adjusted and found that it simply became "background/white" noise. A very amicable young night manager called Hassan welcomed us and we were soon shown to our room ( #5 ). Once inside, all noise virtually disappeared and we found ourselves in a nicely appointed room with a super comfy bed with awesome linen on it, a great bathroom with steaming hot water and nice little additions like ear plugs ( not needed in this room ! ) and a list of recommendations for dining etc.All in all the room was great . The breakfasts were to die for with fresh fruits and delicious omelettes etc and I was never refused seconds which for this hungry hippo was much needed before days spent traipsing around shopping. The staff were extremely helpful at all times including organizing a great tailor to come pick me up at the hotel and make a suit at the last minute which turned out AMAZING ! ( thanks so much for that BPN !! ). We found a GREAT little dive bar around the corner on the way to the river called THE TINY ROOM and we can highly recommend this place for lovers of old school rock n roll and an eclectic environment that serves great thai food.

One small suggestion for improvement would be either a) dimming / turning off the outside common area lights after a reasonable hour or b) using heavier curtains to block out those lights. I found the lights illuminated the room all night which wasn't ideal. Another suggestion might be to ask if the owners have ever considered knocking a door between two rooms ( maybe the upstairs rooms in the main residence ? ) to create a modular grand suite / family apartment ? I only bring this up because next time we come we will take our ( young ) kids and I think BPN would be a great place to stay for a family if they had such a "suite". Just a thought !

I can highly recommend BPN. Great value. Great location. Great Management and staff.

Room Tip: #5 was extremely quiet and allowed for great sleeps !

We stayed for 3 nights at the start of our holiday and then 1 final night on returning from our travels around Thailand. We really enjoyed our stay. The guest house is really homely. The rooms have everything you need and the staff were really special. As we were a party of 6 adults, I had the chance to see a number of the rooms - all were beautifully decorated and well equipped, but my favourite was the deluxe room on the second floor. The shared spaces were lovely and calming after crazy days and nights in and around Bangkok. The pool area is small but was perfect for cooling off in - or even just sitting with our tired legs dangling in the water drinking a late night beer. The location is really handy - a quick walk to central pier for the river boat and really close to the skytrain. You do need to negotiate some scary roads - but we found everywhere in Bangkok was like this - and we did get the hang of it in the end. As other people have mentioned you can hear the traffic from the guest house - but Bangkok is just one big traffic jam - and I think you could probably hear traffic everywhere. It did not bother us and I would not let it put you off staying here. And finally, the best and most important bit - the owners and staff were fantastic - so helpful and welcoming - and got us sorted out with taxis, maps, good advice etc. If you are fed up with souless international hotels - you really must stay here.

We stayed for two nights, beautiful well decorated rooms and beautiful building. We would like to thank the management and staff for a great stay. Easy access for the river boats close to central pier. Just be careful crossing the road.

When we arrived Bangkok, the B&B sent a taxi to took us, anf the drive is very friendly, made us a very good beginning at Bangkok. When we arrived Baan Pra Nond, also received a warming from the staff with cool towel and ice Thai milk tea, made us feel refresh in the high temperature. In the public area has some noise problem, but the noise didn't bother us when we stayed in the room(our room is just next to the swimming pool). The owner and staff are all hospitality, and the location is very convenient, is a very nice experience to stay here.

This B&B is in an 80-year-old house built by a Thai Supreme Court Justice and renovated by his granddaughter who converted the old family residence into a small hotel. The rooms are clean, stylish, comfortable and set around a small yard and pool. The house is beautiful with polished wood floors and French doors in the common living room and eating area with wifi. The pool is small and with sun for only a portion of the day but is relaxing and pretty. The location is just off Sathorn a few minutes walk from the Surasak BTS and 10 minutes walk to Silom with lots of food stands and restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is fresh. I didn’t have any problems with noise and I was in the standard room closest to the road. This is a peaceful little place with lots of trees in a good location and a nice alternative to a big hotel.

We spend few nights in this hotel. The hotel was absolutelly great, loved the decorations and its charm. The pool is very small and that are is right under a bypass. The staff were amazing, the breakfast was great! there was an honesty box where we could help ourselves to soft drinks and biscuits :-) The hospitality of this hotel is great we felt very welcomed and they really looked after us. We had a large room in the main house and the only set back was the noise from the road opposite the hotel which was continuously busy. The location is ok, make sure you have a map of where the hotel is as no tuk tuk knew how to find it. The rooms were great and very clean and the bed comfortable, would recommend tthis hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: make sure you bring ear plugs

Charming, clean and comfortable accommodation with friendly helpful staff. Baan Pra Nond is convenient to the ferry and transport but is situated on a main road, with the expressway literally over the pool. If you are a light sleeper, even the free earplugs may not be enough...
