“Dirty room, No hot water, Hidden doorway to rooms a bit creepy”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

I was traveling with a friend, and both experienced a dirty room. There seemed to be a layer of dirt/grime on the floors. The rooms' furnishings were well worn and there was broken molding on the floor. No shower curtain in the tub. No hot water. Drinking glasses in bathroom had awful film on them. My friends room had a pillow case that was soiled. We could not wait to leave and checked out the next morning, which was a day earlier than planned. Our bathrooms did not look like the photos. The bathrooms were aged and needed a facelift. Also the layout of the rooms was a bit creepy to me. There is a carport underneath the rooms, and each room has its own wrapped staircase that leads to the back of the unit for entry ... where you can't be seen.

Room Tip: Hotel is near airport.

Dear Travelers,

We just hate a bad review :(. The great thing about TripAdvisor is everyone is entitled to share their individual experience and we welcome that!

The traveler touched on the layout of our rooms and I thought I'd help explain. In Thailand extended families quite often live together. While that's great for family get togethers you can imagine every now and then you just want to get away! It is quite common in Thailand to "vacation" away from home without leaving Thailand. They pack up their car and visit a hotel outside the city, like ours, and enjoy a few days relaxing by the pool and eating mango and sticky rice. That's why we have the car ports... it's actually very common in Thailand.

We greatly appreciate everyone's reviews and in this case we really didn't seem to get it right for this guest. I hope you will read the reviews in total and see that overall people just love visiting the Paragon Inn. If you have any questions about our rooms don't hesitate to email and ask us... we would be happy to help you!

Happy traveling and we look forward to seeing you at our hotel soon.
Warm regards,
Ben

We had less than 12 hours to spend near the airport and didn't want to pay for the pricier Novatel.
Quick 15 min drive from the airport. Rooms were spacious. No hot water. Very peaceful setting.
Had our best meal just down the street from roadside carts and convenience store.

Paragon Inn cancelled our previously confirmed booking 24 hours before arrival during the Bangkok shutdown, which caused serious trouble because we were unable to find a suitable alternative on such short notice and had to reschedule our flight plans. Staff on the phone was unfriendly, even brusque, and did not feel like they had to assist or apologize in any way. An altogether very unfortunate experience.

We stopped here for one night just as we arrived in Thailand. The hotel is nice, the staff is smiling and helpful and the food is decent. I also thought it was actually very quiet. This being said it was ok for one night but not more as the "bed" is not really one. Very thin matress on a high, large HARD (like the floor) wooden frame. Looks very impressive but you're not impressed when on it!

Have spent the night there during my trip back home. The hotel looks as if no one cares at all: no beauty and soul in anything around you.The room is not cozy with the towels washed badly, broken shower and absence of the shower curtain, so after your wash, the whole bathroom is full of water. Everything looks sad, no love involved in organizing that place.

Pluses: close to the airport and the guys make transfers - so it's ok to just have several hours of sleep. Employees really want to understand your needs, but seems that they don't have resourses to fulfill them. Nice pool, but in a bad location - in the middle of the territory, near the main road right next to the lobby and restaurant, so no isolation and sence of rest and comfort while you're swimming.

Resume: if you can choose another hotel - do it )

Dear Travelers,

Oh no, a dreaded 2 star review :(! We certainly are sorry your experience wasn't everything you were hoping for. We checked around this morning and indeed noticed your room did not have a shower curtain and we are rushing out to the store to have that remedied.

As for love... I can tell you we are all love :). We are a 100% family owned hotel and we've been on something of a renovation kick for the past six months. It's all love paying the bills! With all new two bedroom family rooms and plans to expand our hotel with a new shallow pool, brand new guest reception building and a small gym/yoga studio we are striving to remain a quite little oasis for our travelers coming to/fro Bangkok.

I hope you'll choose to come back and give us another try and thank you again for the great suggestions!

Cheers,
Ben

The Paragon Inn was probably the most luxurious hotel I've ever been in, and one of the cheapest! We had a little trouble with the directions but our taxi driver phoned the hotel and they were more than helpful. The room was lovely and clean, and big, with its own balcony overlooking the beautifully turquoise pool. It was quiet and peaceful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would have liked to have stayed longer to properly enjoy this hotel but unfortunately we only had two nights to spend in Bangkok. It is especially good for those wanting to be near the airport, and there is a shuttle service straight from the hotel.
Overall top marks!

This property is close to the airport. The metered taxi would charge around 150 TBH. Big property, very neat and clean, extremely helpful. The Kitchen is good but the choice is limited.

However, one cannot take this hotel as an option if you are visiting Bangkok as a tourist, It is very far from downtown Bangkok. From this hotel to Silom street would cost you 250TBH plus Highway toll charges which is another 70 TBH. Hence it becomes a costly proposition.

In conclusion one may select this hotel primarily as a transit hotel.

Room Tip: Take rooms away from the swimming pools area as they are quieter.
