“Wonderful hotel with the staff to match”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

We stayed for three nights in early February. We arrived quite early in the morning (8am) but our room was ready which was a real bonus.

From the moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming and their all round persona added to our stay. Front door staff, concierge, reception, pool staff and staff at breakfast - all excellent.

We only ate at the hotel for breakfast - no complaints there with such a large choice which set us up for the day.

The roof top bar is a must for drinks in the early evening - amazing view sets you up for a great night out.

Great location between Asoke and Nana BTS (we used Nana) means that you can be at your required destination in good time.

Also, good bars and restaurants close by at Soi 17.

Used the pool on our last afternoon to chill out after some manic sight seeing. Wonderfully relaxing; lovely cocktails - a real oasis of calm - you wouldn't know that the buzz of Sukhumvit was only a few floors below you.

Our actual room was fantastic - clean, modern and a bed that was difficult to leave in the morning!

All in all, we would recommend this hotel to anyone. We loved it and are already planning to return in February 2015.

Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit remains my faithful choice since our first acquaintance in Aug 2012, subsquently my second visit in Aug 2013 and a week ago in early Mar 2014. Despite the numerous warnings of Bangkok shutdown which was affecting Sofitel locating in Asoke area of the Sukhumvit, I took on the risk and remain committed to my choice. To my delight, I arrived Bangkok by 0935 on a Friday morning, transferred to hotel at 1040 and landed myself in the comfy bed of my luxury room by 1050, almost like the Smooth As Silk experience extended by TG and virtually no sign of Bangkok shutdown.

Noted the hotel is less crowded during my stay last weekend, probably one of the few Bangkok shutdown impacts the hotel is bracing. Beside the closing of Voila for maintenance and Le Bar de L’Hotel for resources optimisation, the rest of the hotel are seen running business as usual.

The luxury room is designed to welcome you home with a heavenly bed and plush pillows you hate to drag yourself off in the morning. Sofitel knows best in pampering me with L’Occitane bathroom amenities, the chosen Verbena range is my favourite. Rain shower is lovely with the right water pressure and temperature. To all the fellow gadget ppl who cannot live without smartphone and tablet, Sofitel is very generous in offering high speed wifi FOC in every corners of the hotel. I always request for a corner room on higher floor, never complain about the wifi connection or out of range while enjoying either the pool with city view, if not the city and distant lake view. The hotel is laid out in every efforts to made you feel warm and cozy in a posh home. Living up with French art de vivre!!

Take a dip a the pool, build with all adults and kids in mind and no worries about exposing yourself to other high rise dwellings surrounding the already very tall Sofitel. Try Club Millesime if you wish to pamper yourself further with private breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails for the lazy stay in.

Should you wish to venture out of the hotel, Asoke BTS is hardly 10 mins away by foot. Siam BTS is four stations away to the east for your shopping and dining in the ever charming Siam Paragon and rejuvenated Siam Center. For the night life with trendy bar and restaurants, Thonglor BTS is only two stations away towards west. Lazy to walk? Meter taxi should not cost you more than 100 baht, but do expect to pay slightly more after midnight. Lazy to venture out of Asoke? Terminal 21 mall will satisfy your shopping needs and stomach cravings. Their Pier 21 food court has the best variety of foods at affordable prices, not forgetting the many cafe and restaurant on site. Most importantly, Terminal 21 is barely 10 mins stroll away once you walk outta Sofitel. Like massage? Shoot yourself if you miss the Art of Massage located at Soi 17 (basement of Robinsons and right next to the entrance to Tops supermarket).

Now the most important asset of Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, the ever smiling, friendly and efficient staffs. Kudos to the front door ladies who never fail to welcome us home with their charming smiles during each stay. Appreciate their efforts in getting us a meter taxi and explain to the driver in details whereabout we are heading, no worries if you speak little Thai. To the reception staffs for speedy check in/out and concierge staffs who ensure our reservations are taken care of, thank you. Owe thanks to the Bell Boys who handled my luggage with care. Heartfelt thanks to the housekeeping team who ensure my room is tidy up with amenities replenished, thoughtful turn down service and the adorable baby elephant!!

Almost 2 years since the opening of Sofitel in Sukhumvit, signs of wear and tear can be seen if you are observant i.e. stained carpet, faulty LED lights on vanity mirror and chipped surface of furniture etc. I’m confident Sofitel will continue to delight us in their Magnifique way. Till the next time I call home, keep up the good work – each of you in the great Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit team.

The location of the hotel is perfect , a walking distance to BTS and MRT . If you are in bkk for either as tourist or business it is convenience to take BTS or MRT trains considering the heavy traffics . Close distance to all the shopping mall ,bank ect. Rooms are beautifully design unlike most Sofitel in Europe , all equipment are high quality and bedding and liner are super. A quilt and mattress cover are made of goose feather . High teach lighting system , iPod dot come along with Illy coffee machine . Welcoming to the hotel by its concierge and f.desk is excellent and if you are regular guest or having membership of Accor , then your check in is done in executive lounge where they serve all beverage and snack all day. Should try the L'occitane Spa at once .Their therapist are efficient . Only remark is the arrogance of the spa receptionist as the Spa a almost full. She does not seem to care if you are waiting at lounge for 20 min just to k ow if she can take you or not .So better call from your room before going there . They two location for B'fast .If you look for cozy and not a big B'fast person go to 23 floor otherwise large buffet at 2nd floor is attractive .The most wonderful thing at this hotel is the staff .They are amazing and always helpful .

Stylish designed hotel close to Soi Cowboy and the Nana Centre - if you are into ladyboys (we were not) this would be heaven! Slightly let down by the food - second floor restaurant closed for refurbishment - the 32nd floor restaurant served good drinks but poor food....breakfast was ok but often lukewarm when it is not that difficult to make it hot! Fantastic views from 32nd floor and also from 9th floor pool area.
