This hotel is a gem - and cost just $70/ night! The room is adequate size, has free internet. Bathroom is quite large and has good water pressure. Bed is quite comfortable, and the linens were super clean. Sound insulation is pretty good, as well.

Location is convenient to the skytrain and Sukhumvit, although it took a few minutes to walk to my station. The area around the hotel is very nice, clean, and appears to be quite safe.

Staff was very friendly and spoke English well enough. The hotel is quiet and very clean. There is a very large gym and pool as well. There is no bar or dance club in the hotel, however.

I can't think of anything that could be even mildly negative. I was completely satisfied, and encourage anyone traveling to Bangkok to check this place out.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Adelphi Grande Bangkok from 18th Dec- 23rd Dec 2009. We booked the special deal (2,500 baht per night for a deluxe studio) from Booking.com. Despite being affordable, the hotel room features a decent kitchenette (you have to call the front desk for pots and pans), washer/ dryer (very useful as you do not have to deal with a huge pile of dirty clothing when you return from your holiday), and WiFi (complementary).

The staff we interacted with were able to converse in English and they were very friendly. One of the staff, Mr. Pom, even draw a map to aid us in our search for Bangkok's "Midnight Kai Ton"!

The location of Adelphi Grande Bangkok is fairly decent as the BTS ride to Chit Lom (central shopping district) takes roughly around 15 min. Despite maintaining a walkable distance to BTS Phrom Phong Station, this service apartment does not suffers from noise pollution from the main street. Still, its location does serves as a double-edged sword after a day of shopping since the road to the service apartment is pretty dark at night and the walk back to the hotel is roughly around 5- 10 min. I think it will be good if management can station its buggy at the main road for its guests.

Another issue that management can look into is its outdoor swimming pool. The water was extremely cold in morning (around 10.30 a.m.) and those who went for a swim all left after a lap because of the temperature of the water.

On the whole, I will still consider returning back to Adelphi Grande Bangkok due to its incredible staff and room.

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay in a deluxe twin room at Adelphi Grande. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Big bathroom - all very clean and well serviced. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We also had good Thai meals in the restaurant in the evening at a very reasonable price. Not far to Sky train and a good supermarket at the end of the street - 5 mins walk. Free internet access for our laptop in the room was really good. Look forward to staying at Adelphi Grande on our next visit to Bangkok.

We stayed for three nights with our family and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff is very friendly and polite and the hotel offers excellent rooms with very good breakfast. Though it is located about 100m off Sukhumvit road, but their courtesy transport service, available anytime, takes the botheration off walking to the main road. We strongly recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at this new hotel. It was easy to find and wasn't too far from shops and restaurants. The room was fairly minimalistic but it had everything you needed. One of the big advantages was having a full size fridge, a microwave and 2 elements for cooking (you had to ask for pots and pans etc). However, the best things for me, as I had been travelling, was having my own washing machine. To be able to wash when I wanted, with a brand new machine, was fantastic. I know laundry is cheap in BKK but having it in my room was a great convenience.

The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Everything I asked for or about was attended to quickly and quietly.

The pool was very nice but lost the sun very quickly behind the skyscrapers.

The breakfast was a buffet but wasn't too big that you didn't know what to choose.

The only things I didn't like were the pillows (I am very fussy with pillows) - to most people they would have loved them - and that every time I showered, water went all over the floor.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a quiet stay in BKK but wanted to be near the shopping etc. and will probably return there in the future.

I am not on holidays but a business traveller and have been in Bangkok for the past 8 years and stayed in many hotels. The hotel is clean with good health facilities, swimming pool, sometimes very efficient front office, always smiling and ready to greet you.Housekeeping is excellent. The rooms are smaller than pictured on the website.

However, the are no toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving razor in the superior studio room that has a shower but not with a bath tub. This is actually very poor in standards for such a hotel. Have to go out to get a toothbrush, etc !.

One day during breakfast, there were no tea and very little coffee. The egg personnel was not at his station and a few guests did not have any eggs ( including me ). The next 3 days were much better as another man was at the egg station. Also, almost the same food were served during breakfast with a little bit of variety, 3 fired rice and 1 fried noodles on 4 days. It was all pork and chicken sausages, pancakes, ham, bacon, boiled eggs, same type of mixed vegetables for 4 days. The bread and pastries were all the same for 4 days. One will get sick just by looking at the same food every breakfast if you stay for more than 2 days.

Free tuk tuk to Sukumvit Rd and call for the pick up if going from the main road to the hotel.

Not really a free internet in the room. One have to ajust your computer setting just to get into their web site. I am not an internet nor a computer expert so i called up the service and it was set very well. I changed my room and my lap top gave me the same non internet service. Called the front office and was politely given a lecture on how to adjust the settings on my lap top and no one came up to set it right.

I had really high expectations for this place after reading all the reviews, so was rather disappointed when it did not turn out as great as I had expected.
Positives: It was comfortable and had all the amenitites that needed for a long/short stay. Some of the staff were really nice - e.g. the cafe staff and the lady who cleaned our rooms daily. The breakfast ( which was almost identical every day) was adequate. Very nice lobby with free internet access.Huge bedroom with comfortable beds.
Negatives: Hotel is located inside a rather dark alleyway. Road along this alleyway is pretty narrow and uneven. Some of the front desk staff appeared inexperienced and a couple of the tuk tuk drivers a bit grouchy. Some stuff which was supposed to have been there was missing from our grande suite - e.g. pots and pans, etc.
Overall - Even though we had a comfortable stay, it was not a warm and cosy one as in our previous bangkok hotel stays. As I said, maybe my expectations were just a bit too high.

Dear Khun Pinkpower,

May I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to share us your positive and negative feedback and comments.

I was truely disappointed to learn that we fail of delivered the excellence service to you in some areas. I unreservedly apologize for the unpleasant experience. By no mean this is an excuse for any of the events but it has highlighted the need for us to review our training for associates as this is absolutely not our common practice of servicing our valued customers.

However, please rest assured that this is not indicative of our level of service. Our department heads concerned will address all points mentioned in order to rectify the problem.

We sincerely hope that we will have an opportunity to welcome and serve you again at Adelphi Grande Bangkok.
