“A wonderful friendly hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2009

I was in SILQ Hotel, from 19th to 24th October 2009. I was a delightful experience right from the time we stepped into the entrance of the hotel. The bell hop was very helpful with our luggage, and at the reception the staff were very friendly to help us make our stay comfortable. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, the bath was good. Room service was excellent. Whenever we wanted to go anywhere, all we had to do was was the staff at the reception and they helped us with a smile. A special note of thanks to Mong, she was very accommodating and helpful all the time. The location of this hotel was right for us as we used both the MRT and the BTS ( the subway and the skytrain) extensively for us travel. Both of these stations are just both 50 meters from the main road, there is a convenience store in front of the hotel, a tailor a pub and a couple of massage spas as well as 2 Italian restaurants along this road. If there is a problem with the taxis, just tell them its the same road as Robinson Plaza. It is wise to use the Subway and the skytrain as much as possible to get to your destination as much as possible as the traffic is bad, and when in tourist areas try not too use the tut tuts as the can con you. Use the taxi if you can. I would recommend this hotel to all. Francis Louis from Malaysia

My wife and I struggled to find anything to complain about. Staff were all attentive and sometimes comical as they bumped into each other pouring your coffee or taking your bags. The Skytrain and subway are both literally 3 minutes walk. There is a 7-11 across the road and a good, legitimate, place for a massage on the way to the skytrain, lots of tailors within walking distance. Lots of hot water for showers and good beds. Even the coffee was good.

Stayed 3 nights in Silq hotel in October.

All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay.

We were given a room on 7th floor, although the room was not large in size, it was big and comfortable enough for the short stay. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, which helped after a long day trekking through the busy streets of Bangkok during the day. There is a large shower cubicle along with toiletries and a hair dryer.

Breakfast was acceptable, there is a choice of cooked eggs and meats form a menu, whilst you wait for that, there is a small selection os oriental style foods, cereal, toast and fruits to choose from.

The location is excellent for exploring Bangkok, the Sktrain (Asok) and undergorund station is literally 5 minutes walk away, both public transport will take you to most tourist attractions and is very cheap to use.

Overall, this is still a young hotel but for the price I paid, it is definately good value for money. The cleanliness and location would bring me back here again.

Pros:
* Perhaps the best location of all hotels in BKK we have stayed in. Asok station is just 2mins walk. If you are into red light area Soi Cowboy is just 5mins walk.
* Very clean and excellent interior! It is new, modern and spotless.
* Free internet access for guests in the lobby - a defo bonus as lots of hotels try to charge you!

Cons:
* The breakfast was OK, but if you are vegetarian like us, you will struggle with realistic / tasty vegetarian options.
* The staff's english needs improvement as they did not always understand what I was asking them. It would take time re-wording and re-explaining before they would understand. That said, they were always helpful.

If I go to BKK I would defo stay here and recommend it to anyone!

Travel to Bangkok at least 4 times a year for leisure. Have stayed at more than 30 hotels. The SILQ is a very new hotel, few minutes walk from both BTS Asoke and Sukhumvit MRT. A perfect location, and probably the most friendliest hotel staffs I've ever met. From the security guard, Front desk, coffee house, porter to the GM, yes, GM! They are always smiling! Rooms are so cosy and what I loved most was the pillow. Earlier this year I stayed at 2 new properties at Sukhumvit, soi 29 and 41. New rooms but the pillow was too high for small sized asian like me. Both hotels do not have a lower pillow. Not being able to sleep properly during a trip is a disaster.
SILQ is ideal for couple, family and business travellers.
Good security, nice people, nice rooms, good breakfast!
I will definitely be back!

The hotel was very nice, clean, and the staff were excellent. The staff will make you feel comfortable, and the manager is nice as well. Everything went perfect and for a great price too. No extra fee if you bring a guest back. Great place to stay!

My family and I have stayed at many hotels in Bangkok over the years and I have to say that to date this is the best by far. The hotel opened in May 2009 and at present is having a special price promotion. I hope they continue with this price as i feel it is pitched just right. We stayed in a Delux room which at present cost 2,100 with ++ taxes so the total was about 2,450B per night. We were on the 6th floor with a view from the front of the building along Soi 19. Soi 19 is one of the quietest Sois about. The hotel is at best a 5 minute walk to Sukhumvit and Asoke Sky Train and Sukhumvit underground train. Robinsons department store is on the junction with Soi 19 and Sukhumvit. Walking the other way (away from Sukhumvit) is the Soi 19 beer garden. This is a nice quiet place with good cheap food and beer. Good service and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Sukhumvit.

The building clearly looks very new compared to the surrounding buildings. It is located more or less opposite the Honey Hotel (for thoses that know the Soi). The foyer is nice airconditioned and very light and airy. The breakfast room is small but that said i saw very few people at our late breakfast time. Breakfast is the usual standard buffet with eggs in various styles. Service though very good again.

The reception staff, in fact all the staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff seemed to know every guests name. The bar staff excellent and made very nice cocktails. The manager was about often and he too made exceptional efforts to ensure the guests were being looked after. There is free WiFi in the hotel which is very unusual (and would have been great if i had brought my laptop). There is a free internet station in the foyer.

The room was lovely and as mentioned in many previous posts the bed was fantastic. Very big and unbelievably comfy. The staff supplied a DVD play when asked and this was brought to the room and fitted within minutes of asking. The bathroom was nice and the shower very good. No bath but i see that as a bonus though as I like the wet room style over the European bathrooms.

There is an excellent rooftop restaurant opposite called Zeist. Well worth going to. Service and food are excellent.

Would I stay at this hotel again - Deffinately.
