We stayed at the SilQ for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is less than 2 years old and has all the facilities you would expect including a very comfortable bed and free internet access. The included breakfast was varied and plentiful and we had lunch and 2 evening meals, all of which were beautifully cooked and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful - all in all a very enjoyable stay and a hotel we would recommend to anyone.

The hotel is located just two minutes walk from a BTS station which can take you to most places of interest in Bangkok with ease and in comfort. However, there is very little of interest in the area surrounding the hotel unless you want to go to a shopping mall or frequent some of the seedier Bangkok bars. There are, however, a number of good massage places on the same street as the hotel.

The hotel itself is clean and well kept. Front desk staff are efficient but the friendliest staff seemed to be housekeeping who always greeted us with genuine smiles; wishing us a happy new year; and asking how we were.

Although excellent value for money - if I were to return to Bangkok I would pay more to stay in one of the classic hotels nearer the river.

My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights before moving on to Indonesia and it was just right for what we wanted. We always look for a place that can help us get over jet lag and this was just what we had in mind. It's a smallish hotel with great bed and linens and the deluxe room was really spacious, minimalist and with all the amenites. Breakfast was really good and the service outstanding. The only thing I would say is that a little pool area and a slightly more inviting bar would have given the Silq a 10 out of 10.

We stayed at the SilQ hotel for 2 nights before travelling around the rest of Thailand and staying in a further 6 hotels. After all our hotel stays I can handsdown say that SilQ is one of the finest hotels in Thailand.

We were very warmly greeted by the bell boy who collected our luggage and took care of it for us while we checked it. The lovely receptionists gave us a free room upgrade and we were shown to our room - a superior suite. The room is spacious and spotlessly clean. The furniture is a modern and edgey dark wood. There was a large bed with beautfil trimmings, cushions and a headboard. The bathroom has a fantasticly large walk in shower and the hotel also provides lots of gorgeous complimentary products like shampoo and conditioner etc.

The hotel has a bar and sitting area in front of the reception where I had some absolutely fantastic cocktails - try the lychee martini! To the side of the reception is the restaurant area where the buffet breakfast is provided. This is a very decent and tasty range of breakfast foods including both Western and Asian fare.

The staff at SilQ really are some of the best, they're polite, speak good english and offer lots of good information, suggestions and advice. The hotel is stunning and a lot of thought has gone into the design and details of the decoration.

The location of the hotel is also perfect. It's situated on a side road just off a main street. Along the side road you'll find several casual bars, 7-11s and a couple more hotels. There are also a couple of street food vendors - I recommend you try the one directly in front of the 7-11 to the left when you're walking out of the hotel. On the main street you'll find lots of market stalls, more bars and some restaurants and shops. There is also a skytrain and metro station very close which is cheap and quick to use. If you walk in the other direction when you exit the hotel (to the right) and take the first right there is a huge massage parlour called Healthland where you can get amazing and very affordable traditional thai massages.

We were so happy with our first stay that we've actually booked in for another 2 nights at the end of our Thailand adventure - I'm really looking forward to our second stay :)

We stayed here for our final night in Thailand but must say it was a very comfortable stay. Hotel feels new and is very modern. Rooms were cosy and clean with lcd tv and mini fridge. Location is good only 2 mins from Sukumvit nightlife and the hotel is keenly priced. Staff were also very helpful and even printed out our boarding passes for us on the day we checked out. Very nice hotel which i would use again.

We stayed here at two seperate times during our trip to Thailand and it was faultless. The cleanest hotel we stayed at with very good service and comfortable, modern decorated rooms. We would definitely stay here again! Good location as it's close to the markets and train station. Air con is controlled externally and so stays on when you leave the room which is great as this keeps the bugs from wanting to come in. This differs with most hotels in Thailand as air con turns off when you leave and because of the warmth the mosquitos and other bugs come in. The attendants were really helpful and polite at all times. This hotel is a good base from which to which to explore and really guarantees you a peaceful nights sleep at the end of a day out in Bangkok.

Stayed in the hotel last Dec. 1-5, 2010 with friends and my daughter. We spent only Php 6,000 (about baht 4000) for the entire 4 nights and 5 days, and this is with breakfast for the entire stay. Though the rooms are not big, they are very clean, comfortable and with complete amenities in the bathroom, a safe, coffee/tea service and even bathrobes and slippers. I triple shared with my daughter and friend and we fit. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the BTS and the entire street is dotted with almost a dozen Thai massage parlors, two 7-11's, and a night food hawker haven. We ate good Pad Thai from a food cart plying just this dish and an omelet every night. At the end of the street is a Robinson's with a supermarket and a MacDonald's. Crossing the street is Starbucks. SilQ staff is very courteous and helpful. We just had a problem with dinner on our last night as the service was slow. Since it was the king's birthday, we thought maybe only 1 chef reported for duty, but otherwise, we had a really pleasant stay. Front Office even has a weighing scale to check for excess baggage. We bought some Nama (Japanese chocolate) which the bar willingly stored prior to our departure. Talk about good service. Would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend and will stay there again when I go back to Bangkok.
