“Very quiet and confortable”
Reviewed 25 March 2013

Sourire@Tattanakosin Island is a very good hotel in Bangkok. Close to Wat Pho and big Palace. Very quiet, confortable, clean. The breakfast is good and copious. The decoration of rooms and common spaces pleased a lot us. Dark wooden furniture, sobriety and white sheets. Beds are very confortables. Effective and very helpful staff.
If we return to Bangkok, we'll return without hesitation in this hotel.

Room Tip: superior or deluxe, rooms are very nice

Location for starters - just off the beaten tracks down a short alley off the Democracy Monument but so close to plenty of activities. ie Khao San Rd
Staff - speak English and helpful. My wife got sick so they gave me pills, special lemon infused tea to help. They knew what taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers should charge us. And they gave good directions to get to the right locations
Accommodation - quiet, roomy with air con. Rooms were quaint without flashiness or cheapness either. Though rooms only had an easy to break door lock and no security safe. But in saying that we felt secure.

Room Tip: Always ask the staff (especially the owner Suree Chaisanguantham) for tourism advice. They know the...

Loved the space. Original superior room we had booked was small but we were offered an upgrade for THB900 for 2 nights which was great. Staff were very helpful in making our 2 days in Bangkok very special. Nice breakfast of eggs and bacon with coffee / tea. Location was great for temple sightseeing, but take lots of water, and an umbrella. The heat is quite alot to handle. If you are planning to walk then be prepared. If not, the tuktuk ride is around THB200. The hotel is more of a boutique space which is nice. they also arranged our taxi ride to the airport and an extended stay in our hotel so we could shower etc before our flight, for an extra THB500.
Will be keen to return> as it is not in the main noisy section of Bangkok.

Room Tip: Ugrade to a deluxe room for a bigger space and newer aircon units. We were on the 3rd floor

We stayed 3 nights in an AC double. Breakfast was fantastic and substantial, staff were very friendly and helpful when we needed directions around the city. We arrived at 2am and there was someone on the desk to check us in for our reservation. Air conditioning worked well and the rooms were lovely and quiet. It was easy to find because we had given the taxi driver their number and he called them twice, once dropped off it was a short walk down a dark road but felt safe because some friendly locals were around. It was a little pricey but Bangkok is in general. great location, right near long boat stop, Kaosan rd (if your into that) and not too far to walk to royal palace, museums etc.
Would stay again.

Initially difficult to find....that's for sure. Be sure you have their number to call as even the taxi driver became totally confused! Once there, down a little back lane, not far from the center of everything, I learnt later, things began to look up! My room was average size, small shower room, bit noisy, but clean and comfortable. The breakfasts (included in the super inexpensive price) were plentiful and excellent. Most often my lunch was a good coffee or two and I needed nothing more until dinner. The staff were very attentive though their English language skills were not good. Internet worked well. Once I got my bearings, I realised that this out of the way little spot was great for heading off in all sorts of directions. I'm happy to walk and quickly discovered so much so close...and when not so close, I spent many happy journeys up and down the rivers using the easy and incredibly inexpensive river transport system. So a little gem if you're happy to forgo the frills.

Though it's hard to find, the first time you go there, it's worth while. The rooms were comfortable en quiet and the bed was good.
In the morning I was looking forward of the breakfast, cause the omelet was delicious. Staff was friendly and trips were easily to book at the hoteldesk.
