This is a great hotel on the face of it with just one, big problem. The rooms at the front of the hotel overlook the street bars and that means no sleep until 0630 am. Deceptively, the market noise dies down around midnight and then when the nearby brothel bars empty at 0200 the street bars take over. If you get a room at the back of the hotel, the place is to be recommended. After three nights of no sleep they were able to move us to a quiet room. Otherwise, a great place. Dare you risk it? We suggest booking for one night only, the airport bus will drop you outside for just 150 baht each ....

We spent 5 nights at this hotel at the begining of our 3 week trip in Thailand. This hotel was undoubtedly the best hotel on our trip. I have to say this place has the most outstanding service of any hotel - at time you might feel like your staying at a 5 star hotel. We were welcomed back evertime we returned to the hotel and the door was always pleasantly opened for us. Anytime we needed a cab the bellman didn't hesitate to call one over for us - and make sure he used the meter.

the Breakfasts are very good - compared to what you get at many other thai hotels & the service is very friendly.

The place is extreamly clean and very new - the laptop computers that are availiable for internet are very nice and easy to use. overall it was a very pleasant place to get away from the very dirty, noisy and crowded bangkok city.

there was definately some very annoying construction sounds that would always start after 10am - these were not just the typical noises from a busy city - these sounds were without a doubt coming from the hotel itself - very loud banging and machine sounds.

On8 was my favorite hotel at this price point on my entire month long trip. It's in a great location, the rooms are stream-lined, clean, clean, clean, and almost Zen. The staff was great. They were as professional and courteous as the staff at The Peninsula! Kudos to the management there. I will stay here every time I go to Bangkok and I'm paying the bill. The only thing that some people might not like (but I LOVED) was that the room had no windows. There wouldn't be any sort of a view, right at Soi 8 and Sukhumvit, so it didn't bother me and I liked the total darkness of the room in the morning for sleeping in after late nights out. It is right at the Nana stop on the sky train. Also, you can't beat this location for access to nightlife.

On8 was the first hotel we stayed at while in Thailand, and it was arguably the best one in terms of price, service, quality and location. The hotel is conveniently located right beside the Nana skytrain station and right next to Sukhumvit. In fact, it may have been a little TOO convenient, as there were frequent traffic jams on Sukhumvit. Sometimes it took us 20 minutes to advance half a block towards our hotel. Luckily, taxis are dirt cheap in Thailand so it might mean an extra dollar or two on your part for the wait. At night, the sidewalks of Sukhumvit turns into a long, congested street market with merchants hawking all sorts of goods and souvenirs.

The rooms were of excellent quality. Clean, well-designed, and very comfy. The washroom was elegant and very modern-looking. We liked their rooms a lot! The only unusual part of our room was there were no see-through windows; rather, it was just a huge floor-to-ceiling piece of "snowy" glass. Light would come through, but we can't see outside. Probably for the better since all we would see is the Nana skytrain station. The Internet is also FREE, which was a huge plus for us. Good connection speed too!

Service was excellent. The staff were very attentive to our needs and had no problems hailing us a taxi and ensuring the driver enabled the meter. We were also served the customary cold towel and drink upon arrival. The breakfast was included in our rate and we enjoyed it very much. Simple, western-style breakfast with plenty of fruits, breads and juices. We liked it a lot!

All in all, an excellent hotel in an excellent location that you won't be disappointed with.

I originally made a 4 night booking at the On8 based on the reviews here. My friends were staying a few blocks away on Soi 11 but I wanted something a little more upscale. The room was great: comfortable bed, modern bathroom and TV with lots of English channels. Free use of computer in the lobby and restaurant which served delicious if limited Thai food in addition to "Western" meals.Friendly and helpful staff which put up with my indecisiveness regarding how long I was going to stay there. Consequently, I ended up staying in a lot of different rooms as I booked them on a day to day basis. I experienced them all and interestingly enough, my favorite was the one without a window as it was really quiet. I am a light sleeper and was worried about it being so close to Sukhumvit but I barely heard the traffic. It is a small hotel so overall it was quiet. The only noise I heard was a bit from neighboring rooms and the overhead fan in the hallways that goes off and on all night long. I couldn't hear this in the room without a window. Not that the window is important at the On8 as all the windows are frosted and you cannot open them anyway. Breakfast was good, if dull - eggs, fruit, juice, toast, etc. and a Thai breakfast would have been more interesting. The Bangkok Post was available daily along with tourist books in the lobby. Very helpful and friendly staff who answered all my questions. I had never been to Bangkok before so it was a good place to stay for me. I had 3 days on my own before my friends arrived. The Nana BTS stop was literally outside the door and it was easy and comforting to explore the city on your own, knowing you can never get lost. Lots of street stalls, food, banks all around with a great spa, the Raintree up the street on Soi 11, so it was a pretty stimulating location. Can you ever get bored in Bangkok?

We booked this hotel from the internet , so happy with our choice.. stayed 5 nights and had the best time, hotel was so close to publis transport , just out the cafe door, up the stairs and you were there.Staff were very helpful, cafe was great service and everyone very helpful.
They recommended a massage place a short walk from hotel and then walked you there, what else could you want.
The fact that you couldn't look out of the windows worried me , but soon got used to it .Had heard that there was a few rooms close to main road that weren't the best for light sleepers,so we requested and recieved nice quite roooms.
Couldn't fault this hotel, will recommend it to everyone how wants value for money.
Will return here if going to Bangkok again.A big thankyou to all the wonderful staff.
