“Great long stay option”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Have been using Column bangkok now on a regular basis. What will surprise you at first is the size of the rooms. Large. Very large. All rooms have a cooking range, large fridge, washing machine and a dryer, making this an ideal hotel for long stay. Remember to ask for a non-smoking room if you need one. Everyone in our group was assigned a smoking room for some reason. They did change the room immediately when asked.

Room Tip: Smoking rooms have a very strong lingering smell of smoke so be sure to ask for a non-smoking room i...

The suite was really spacious, can't believe how much space there was! With delightful wooden flooring and a big big sofa it was such a comfortable stay.

There was a pool all the way up and although a little small it's still amazing to be soaking so high up with a cocktail in hand.the restaurant is very beautifully decorated and breakfast in the morning was a happy affair! It was also located berry close to the metro and terminal 21 shopping centre. Would definitely come back again!

We were upgrade for free of charge(but not have separate beds), but upgrade was really good compensation. Very large room, nice bathroom.
Perfect location, it is not to go by foot to exhibition centre(high temperate outside), it is really close there, and for some beer in the evening too.-)
Was very satisfied

Room Tip: on request they open You balcony which is interesting view, and You can smoke there.-)

My family and I stayed at a 2-bedroom apartment here last week and were really very happy about the location. There is a 24-hour grocery store (Foodland) right beside it and you also have some decent cafes and restaurants on the same Soi. Given that we were traveling with our young son, it was nice to also have a lot of space to move around. The a/c was working very well and generally, our experience was quite pleasant. The gym left much to be desired but since there were machines to run in, I guess I would give it a passing mark. There were no windows, though, so that was a minus.
My only issue here really was the erratic wifi connection in the guest rooms. The signal was strong in the common areas, including the hallways but the moment we went inside our room, the wit would go on and off.
This hotel is definitely good value for money- given its location and room size but I would make sure they fix the wi-fi situation before I book there again.

Paid 110 aussie dollars for a 1 nighter and on arrival got an upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite on the 38 floor which is 3 from the top.
They also offered up a 1400hrs check out the next day free of charge.
Room 3806 had 2 bathrooms and second one had the laundry, both washer and seperate dryer so they were well away from the bedroom and you could not hear them when they operating another good point was the dryer was actualy ducted out of the room.
Large kitchen with everything you need, did find the fancy microwave hard to read as it had too many operations for me.
The view from room was spanking and huge though the furniture was a bit dated and basic.
Large bedroom with floor to roof windows and curtains which blocked out the light.
Large on-suite with seperate bath and rainforest shower.
Breakfast in morning was nothing special, had everything you need and served in the long bar but no atmosphere.
Pool area needed some work, with stains and missing panels and some sort of floor placed over half the pool (see pictures) it was not welcoming.
Now have stayed in may places in Bangkok and due to the troubles just now some spanking deals to be had. But even though the room was huge and had a 24hr foodland below and very close to skytrain, I would not stay here again as no wow factor or atmosphere.
Its perfect for business, work or people that want a place that is quite and not geared up for children, which makes it very quiet.
Last thing is the place was very clean and the staff very compotent and good understanding of english.

A 3.5-4 star hotel. Not 5.

Pro: Central. Price is ok.

Con: Poor breakfast in selection and quality. Poor cleaning of the room. Sewage smell in the bath room

Book without breakfast. Foodland next door is only a supermarket.

Room Tip: Ok package if you do without the breakfast and are not too fuzzy about the cons listed in the review...

The room was huge, super-fully equipped and everything was impeccably clean. Though a standard room, it was like a one bedroom apartment with everyone one needs, including a washer and drier! I stayed for work and booked a number of rooms so got a great discount too.
The wifi works well all over the building and the large windows offer a great view of the city.

Room Tip: A room that's higher up for a better view.
