Mariya Boutique Residence at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Ranked #228 of 894 Hotels in Bangkok
Reviewed 20 June 2013

The main drawing card of the Mariya Boutique Residence is its close proximity to the airport. The hotel offers a free shuttle service - if you haven't arranged your transport to the hotel, upon arrival at the airport ring the hotel number and they will pick you up within 10-15 minutes. The lobby is not very large but it is quite pleasant. Free water, tea, coffee, snacks and fresh fruit are available in the lobby. There are no lifts in the hotel, but staff will carry your luggage to the room. The room itself was reasonably sized, somewhat basic, but comfortable for a short stay. The shower cabin was quite small and it took a couple of attempts to get the hot water going. Staff were friendly, responsive and extremely helpful. On the night I was at the hotel the wi-fi internet (which is complimentary) was down. Staff went out of their way to assist me in sending an urgent message, by even offering their own mobile phone. There are few shops near the hotel, including a 7 eleven, which could come handy, but the city is quite some distance away. Being close to the international airport, and at bargain room rates, the hotel is a good option for a traveller who only needs a bed for an overnight stay.

We stayed here both the first and last night of our trip and were VERY happy with this decision. Although it is more expensive than our other hotels, it was well worth it because they pick us up from the airport and drop us back off at the airport (anytime of day). In terms of location it is 5-10 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport (the newer airport), and probably 45 minutes from all the touristy things of Bangkok. Honestly, it made our life so much easier that the hotel had the van service because we would have had no idea where we were going and the last thing we would have wanted to do after traveling for 21+ hours, would be to struggle to find our hotel. As promised, there was a driver waiting for us at the airport! Additionally, our room had great wi-fi and air-conditioning. My one complaint is that the rooms feel a little humid when you first walk in, however once you turn on the air-conditioning you really don’t feel the humidity.

We stayed at the Mariya in May and would be very happy to stay again at this hotel. Had arranged to be picked up at Airport by hotel and sure enough someone was waiting for us at the pick up point. Hotel was very clean, room was good and bathroom excellent. You could either eat at the hotel or walk along the road a very short distance to several eating places. Breakfast was good, not a huge selection but more than adequate. Our room was on the ground floor which had the advantage of not having to climb stairs, no lift at hotel, or have staff carry cases up the stairs. The disadvantage to us, and I must stress we are both light sleepers, was that we could hear staff talking, only quietly, in the early hours of the morning as they were preparing breakfast, hence we did not have a good night's sleep. If staying again would request a room on the 1st floor, but this was just a minor point. Staff very obliging.

Room Tip: Try for a room above the ground floor

I couldn't stand the thought of paying $200 for 1 night at the Novotel by Suvarnabhumi airport in Thailand so, per TripAdvisor, booked a night at the Mariya Boutique Residence. It was perfect! If you don't need a brand-new, big-box hotel, try this one. Our room was small but perfectly modern with flat screen tv, free wifi, immaculately clean and included breakfast! The free shuttle met us at the airport as we came through baggage claim! Score! I'd stay here again in a heartbeart! Oh, did I mention about $50?

All comments are close to truth and except for little noise and lack of elevators this hotel is excellent accommodation destination. Home away from home. Keep up the good work.

My friend and I stayed here for just one night. We choose Mariya simply because it is quite near Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport and provides free shuttle bus.

Pros:
1. Shuttle bus drivers were nice and helpful. It is in a relatively terrible, remoted neighborhood, but with the shuttle you can shop safely and conveniently.
2. It's a new (or newly renovated) hotel, everything looks bright and clean.
3. The room was so " Thai. " --Very traditional decorations and lovely atmosphere.

Cons:
I was a little disappointed when we arrived the airport and fail to find the right bus. Totally messy and confusing there... :( so many buses and taxi drivers that we spent about an hour to get on the bus. Luckily, a local tour guide helped us and called Mariya to pick us up. It took only 10 minutes from airport to hotel. Even I emailed them 3 days ahead and they absolutely know that we will arrive late at night, still I got this disappointed experience.
BTW, there's no elevator... so be prepared to carry your own luggage. If u'r fine to pay some tip, just ask the front desk, they will let bell boys help you with it.

All in all, Mariya is a beautiful boutique hotel with friendly staff.

We literally only stopped over during our transfer from Bangkok DMK airport to depart the next morning from BKK airport.
We had booked a room including the round trip transfer to the airport.

They do not pick up from DMK airport but we just took the free shuttle bus that runs between the 2 airports. We then called them from BKK airport and got picked up within 10 minutes. We had contacted them by email 2 days before regarding the pick up and unfortunately their answer had landed in our spam folder, which we later discovered.

In the lobby is juice/water, biscuits and cookies and lechees for free, as well as tea/coffee and 2 complimentary bottles of water in the room. The friendly staff printed our airline tickets for the next morning, the voucher for the hotel at our next destination and our Cambodian Visas for us, no problem!

For dinner we went to the restaurant just beside the hotel (forgot the name). It was a bit pricey but the food wasn't bad at all.

Wake up call at 3am was on time and transfer to BKK airport takes all of 10min max.
They do transfer 24h a day.

If we ever happen to stop over and needing somewhere close to the airport in Bangkok again, we'd happily come back here!
