“Moderately Priced in Bustling Downtown of Bangkok”
Reviewed 12 March 2013

At end of a small street (=soi), 4 storeys, base floor with restaurant, did not try food, no unwanted approach by unwanted persons, friendly, clean, bit outdated and needs renovation, inside in night could be noisy since everywhere stone floor. bathroom small, rooms with xx1 face quiete side. Moderately priced, bars and entertainment places all around, 150 m to Sky-Train Station Nana, distance could be handled even with suitcase. Recommended for one-night-stay of people who like entertainment.

Room Tip: xx1 is quiete

Good location though v sleezy area.

Nice rooms, good wifi, kettle in room nice.

A clean, convenient place to stay in this area, near to BTS.

Stayed on top floor - which was quieter as many bars below.

I stayed for one night in one of the cheapest rooms – no window, room only for about £20.

Maxims is very well located, a short walk from Nana BTS (over ground fast and cheap railway).

The room was a little tired but was fine for a one night stop. The TV was decent, the free wifi works as did the room safe. That safe however was not bolted to anything – it was just placed inside the wardrobe.

The room seemed clean enough and I had a decent nights sleep.

There was a fridge but no complimentary water. This was the only Thai hotel I have met that did this – a bit mean.

I had the £2 breakfast which included a drink, eggs, toast etc. This was fine.

Overall for a short stay at a decent price it is worth while using Maxims particularly when you allow for the location.

Room Tip: For cheapness book room without window. Breakfast fine for £2, but bring your own water!

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is located in a small street lined with bars & more particularly girly bars. The hotel has been recent renovated so it looks quite nice. The room was good but the lighting was very dark. My dad has stayed here before and only paid 1000 baht. We asked about this and they said they could offer us a room for that price but with no window. It's probably worth it as the window we had was small and looked out to a back lot of a building. The bathroom smelt a bit but the shower is quite large. Shampoo & soap is provided. The wifi was infuriating. You are given a username and password but if you don't use it for a while you have to continually reconnect. Breakfast was average tax isn't included in the price. I chose a meal consisting of toast, ham, eggs, sausages, baked beans, bacon & coffee but didn't get the bacon nor baked beans. I'm not sure if you have to explicitly say you want the everything but that's not made clear. The area is great though. The train station is short walking distance and the streets are lined with stalls of shopping and food. If you continue walking down the street into town you go by shrines and two large and quite nice shopping centres. I would stay in the area again but most likely look around for a cheaper hotel with the same facilities.

I stayed in this hotel at the last minute as it was close to the bumrungrad hospital and the sky train. Around the corner on soi 11 there are some nice restaurants. The little ally the hotel is on is all brothels and girls bars, so I suppose I question the main clientele. The bathroom was very good and the room was also fine and clean. Staff were friendly and looked after our bags. For cheap and central this hotel is fine.

The location of hotel is very near to the BTS, overall very good hotel for tourist. except you must booked thru online, if you walk in need to have a good negotiation skills. For my case I don't like to booked online because their price much higher. So I did send an email for booking and walk in to the hotel. At first they refuse because no booking from Agoda or others... but after few time begging they offer me a room.

Room Tip: 5th floor don't have a service lift. but they do provide service to pickup all your belonging to...

I needed a hotel in Sukhumvit as we had stayed here at the A-loft around the corner, but wanted a cheap hotel nearby to extend our stay in bangkok.
I found a superior room on Auroa website for £25 p/n (room only) and booked it.

Pros:
* Right next to NANA BTS station- 3 minute walk
* central to Sukhumvit area
* comfortable bed, good pressure in shower, effective air con, large flat screen tv with good sports and cable/film channels, window with a "view"
* cheap room, good 3 star, free wifi (ask female staff how to access it)
* opposite a good british pub (the pickled liver)
* subway/coffee world at top of soi for quick breakfast options

Cons:
* down the end of a seedy soi (it is in go go central) so not great for families/couples
* female reception staff were very good, male staff were clueless!

All in all, it was a good hotel. Bring your girlfriend or wife here at your peril...and watch in amazement as taxi driver gets down the narrow street to drop you off or pick you up?#

Bunch of lads or single male? Book it NOW! LOL

Room Tip: Superior rooms have windows in- choose over standard room
