Nice but not for me

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Jan 2012
We stayed for two nights in November 2011. Very stylish and relaxing place, really nice rooms (TV didnt work) as you would expect from a spa and the staff, were very attentive. Breakfast looked a little anaemic but tasted fine. For us it was to far from the city (30mins plus) although only 15mins from the airport.

We stayed here for 2 nights waiting to head home after a six week tour of Asia.

Its a lovely hotel in general, very relaxing atmosphere, just what a spa should be like. However, it is a little rough round the edges, looks very tired from the outside and inside in places.

The rooms are very nice, big beds, lots of space, very clean, we also liked the fact we could play the relaxing music through the speaker system wired into all the rooms.

We didn't use the spa facilities only because we were short on money at this point of our trip and the cheapest option was 400 Baht to use the sauna - still cheap if you're not watching the pennies though!

The restaurant was OK, the staff don't speak very good English so its a bit of a mission to always get exactly what you want. Its a Thai menu so if your after any western food look elsewhere. Also the staff at dinner were useless, they kept only bringing one menu to share between two of us, and every time we had finished a meal I had to go and find them to settle the bill. Not really what you would expect from a four star hotel!

My main issue with the hotel was on our first morning here when we were approached by the general manager.

She said there was a problem with the travel agent we had booked through, and basically made out that we had been had over because she has no record of any contract with them.
She said it happens a lot at this hotel, bogus travel agents ripping of customers etc. bearing in mind we had used the travel agent for 6 weeks all over Asia and not had any problems. She did not except this and continued to ask how they were going to get paid?

She asked if we would mind paying again and then taking a receipt to the agent on our return to the UK as she was adamant that there was no way that they could possibly have
signed any contract, even though the website has all the details, pictures etc.

She basically told us to sort out the problem ourselves. "OK fine", I said, "Can I call the UK to speak to them?" "No sir, all calls abroad our barred from the hotel!" Excellent start.

In the end we emailed the company and waited for a reply.

We basically spent the next couple of hours doing the manager's job for her, stressing out in our "re-energise' room trying to figure out what has gone wrong. I approached her a couple of times to ask if anything was sorted yet,and she just got more rude and patronising about the situation.

After an email back from the agent saying they were going to sort things out with the hotel, we waited for a call from reception. Nothing. I finally went for a walk down to the lobby and bumped in to the manager, who, as if it was no problem and no inconvenience to us said everything was fine. They did sign a contract quite a few years ago and the accountant had sorted it. No sorry for ruining your afternoon sir, sorry that I'm a completely useless manager who passes unnecessary problems on to my guests to sort out and if I had just looked into the matter myself I would have found out that you were correct and I would now be saving myself a bad review on Trip Advisor.

It's not rocket science.

Overall - rooms lovely. Hotel OK but tatty in places. Restaurant average, facilities average. Manager needs to go back to hotel school - useless.

After a hellish stay in Malaysia, regarding accomodation, small dingy rooms. Coming to Bangkok Natural spa, felt like stepping into a grand palace. Your greeted with genuine smiles and a Health drink. Rooms are big and spacious with views onlooking a peaceful garden setting. Its a real oasis within a busy hectic place such as Bangkok. I'm really glad i stayed here. The place deserves a lot more support from travellers looking for a retreat.

I stayed at the Bangkok Natural Spa & Resort during a 36 hour layover before my flight out of Bangkok and back to the US. I found the resort to be relaxing and peaceful. The area is quite clean and most of the rooms have been recently renovated. The rooms are quite large and have a modern/zen feel. The spa services were lovely, just a bit higher than you might pay throughout Thailand. The food in the restaurant/room service was also a pleasant surprise, again more expensive than other restaurants in the city but on par for the resort. There is not much within walking distance and this is a 400 baht cab ride to and from the airport. Overall, this was a lovely, relaxing place to stay.

we stayed just a few nights as an airport stop over at the end of a long holiday. arrived aching, a little unwell and exhausted. luckily the hotel was not very far (about 30 mins). it was tranquil calm and peaceful. lovely big comfortable room. the spa area was good and the treatments absolutely wonderful. we had a massage on the first evening and went back the next day for about 3 hours of massage and facial. heaven! and surprisingly affordable. the evening meal and breakfast also good. came out feeling so much better. would not choose anywhere else for a stop over absolutely great value for money

If the traffic is ok this hotel is only 20 mins away from the airport. Very quiet, spotless and guaranteed a good nights sleep. It is not that close to the centre of town so make sure you have the address written down in Thai for the taxi drivers as some don't know where it is (also have the address for when you arrive at BKK airport). Excellent value for money with a lovely spa too.
