This hotel is OK, not great but not bad.
Furniture are old.
Rooms are a little too dark and moisture.
The most un-comfort thing is there is no lock for the windows in our room.

For us, as a family with young children, this hotel is not suitable, but for young couple or friends, then it should be OK.

By the way, they put too much chlorine in the swimming pool.

Room Tip: For less noise, pick a room that far from Khaosan road

Unless you are one of the drunk, hormone raging teenagers wanting to party until 3am this is not the place for you. As for Dang Derm hotel, I have never had such terrible customer service in Thailand! Not even a hello at check in. The room itself is okay, clean/comfortable, until the doof doof music starts around 6-7pm. It sounds like the party is in your room. Then renovations early in the morning. Try sleeping with that combination.

I laugh at the breakfast included: there is not enough staff/tables/plates/food, people eat breakfast standing up.

We asked reception to make a call to the tailor we bought shirts from as they were late to drop them off to our hotel. The most disappointing part was the receptionist didn't want to call, and then said the call cost 10baht!

Sure 10baht is nothing but when you are rude, I pay 1200baht a night this leaves me with a very bad review of the hotel.

Also for 1200baht you can do much better, even after the music stops you are awoken by drunk screaming teenagers. The pool is also full of kids drinking too much and making out. Not family friendly, don't stay here!

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

Distressing and upsetting experience at Dang Derm on the 15th July 13. Our flight from the UK was delayed so we called Dang Derm twice to update them about our arrival time. We said we hope to be there at 4am but we were facing plane delays over over 9hours. When we finally arrived, very tired, at 5.30am they said they had given our room away! They also said that they had taken the money from Booking.Com and that they would not give us a refund. They had spare rooms but said we would have to pay again for a room. I explained that we had called them twice to say our plane was delayed (they acknowledged this) but then said we were an hour later so they cancelled our booking and took our money. I said how could I have told you I was in the air- they said I should have called them from the plane! Madness!

The receptionist was very rude, dismissive and then very angry. She called her boss who refused to refund us and they would not let me use their phone to call Booking.Com. As they had rooms i think it is disgusting that they would not give 2 young girls, a room at 5.30am when we had paid for it! In the end, we ended up sleeping on a sofa in reception holding our bags. They did not say sorry or offer us breakfast etc.

It was very upsetting and a horrible start to our holiday. They argued with us for 40mins and were not very understanding.

I will never go there again!!

Found this hotel via an offer on Booking.com, and booked for three night with my girlfriend. Upon arrival in the late afternoon at the hotel -which looks good, clean and well airconditioned- we were given our room key. As we opened the door, the loud music from Khaosan Rd was pumping in the room -literally. The sliding doors in the room that function as curtains could be felt trembling to the beat of the music from outside. As we're a young couple on a trip through Thailand and Cambodia we were used to some noisy hotel rooms, however this was insane.
I couldn't help but laugh at the situation as I did not expect the reception staff to actually believe that we were going to (or could, for that matter) sleep in the room. Unfortunately, they did, as it proved impossible for them to change our room or give us a refund. After a long discussion with the reception staff it turned out to be possible to change us to another room, a Twin room (instead of our booked Double room), which was fine. We ended up staying all three nights there (room. 304), which, according to the reception staff was one of the most quiet rooms in the hotel. The music could still well be heard on the inside of the room (not just the beat, the vocals and all that as well) but with good earplugs it was possible to get an almost decent nights sleep.
As to the rest of the hotel: it is clean, the pool is well maintained, the mattresses are quite good and the breakfast is good although it can get very crowded. Other than the loud music this place also seems to be a bit of a party-hotel, as there were kids shouting through the halls at night (although that might also be just to make themselves heard above the noise).
Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone I like. The only exception to this is if you're just in Bangkok to party all night and sleep during the day, then this place is perfect.

Wolter, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Room Tip: Room 304 seems to be amongst the more quite rooms. Don't expect too much silence though.

We stopped off for one night in bangkok on our way home, this hotel is in a great location if you're looking to shop and party, and even if you're not, it's close to a whole host of other Bangkok attractions. We were slightly concerned after reading some of the reviews complaining of noise, but we were fairly close to the front of the building and it wasn't an issue at all. Seriously, if you're concerned about noise, get some earplugs, or better yet, don't stay on Khao San Rd. The room was really spacious and quite clean apart from one mysterious stain on the floor. Staff very helpful and the included breakfast was nice enough. Oh yeah and the pool area is a great spot with some nice bangkok views. If you're looking to stay on Khao San Rd this is definitely the place.

Location excellent on Khao San road, if you are only passing through Bangkok for a few days. I'd imagine you could get bored of location if extended stay. It's in the middle of all the action. Plenty of bars & restaurants.

The hotel itself if quite big, with a swimming pool on the roof. However, due to the location and price, this hotel is pretty much a haunt of backpackers. It was a bit rowdy on a couple of occasion with groups of young guys on hols.

The staff were pretty terrible. Quite unhelpful & indifferent. The restaurant serves free breakfast in the morning. This was a bit of a disaster. The dining area is not a quarter big enough to cope with the capacity of the rather large hotel. So you have people standing around eating standing up. And the food was pretty crummy.

Having said those negatives, for the price & location it'll do for a few nights somewhere kicking in Bangkok.
