“Excellent Hotel, Great Location and Exceptional Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

An excellent hotel with amazing staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Bangkok Hotel, it most certainly made my trip extra special. My room had a retro themed decor, was very clean and spacious with an amazing view overlooking Bangkok city, which was wonderful at night. The hotel is in a brilliant location, very near to various luxurious shopping malls and a sky train station. I highly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, one of the best I have had thus far. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, in particular the staff working at the front doors and hotel lobby desk. The staff always went out of their way to ensure my stay was perfect and took great care to keep me very happy. Will definitely be staying here again, the next time I am in Bangkok.

Very nice and comfortable hotel, well equipped and maintained. Rooms also spacious and well equipped for business work. Excellent quality restaurants and a rich breakfast.
In Bangkok I stay only here.

My husband & I stayed here when we first arrived in Thailand & it was fabulous! The hotel is gorgeous & the staff is the best. Everyone here was so accommodating from arraigning limo services, restaurant reservations, detailed information about where to go & just being so gracious. Ms. Benchawan, at Flavors restaurant gave us such good ideas about where to go & how to get there & was just an absolute doll. Our friend at the concierge desk was also hugely helpful & patient with all our questions. The hotel is extremely clean, beautifully decorated & is centrally located to shopping & downtown. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Bangkok.

Room Tip: We stayed in the royal orchid suite 1815.

Stayed at the hotel for three nights from 14 - 17 Jun 14. Room was ok and nothing impressive. I am discontented with the following:

1. Dark corridors outside rooms. Potentially dangerous and waiting for crimes to happen. You cannot even see the far end of the corridor clearly during the day let alone at night, a typical scene of a Thai horror movie.
2. Breakfast at the restaurant was good, but services were not warm, as compared to the staff serving the Whites. No smiles to me and other Asians, as I have observed. Giving us the impression that they wanted us to eat and go, and that "you are taking spaces away from the Whites, and no, we would not entertain you further."
3. Access to the hotel was awkward and tedious, as you would have to trek along a rundown shopping centre from the train station, about 5-10 minutes. Potentially dangerous at night as it is dark and road is uneven leading to the hotel.

With all those mentioned, you can try other hotels such as Pathumwan Princess or Shangri-la Bangkok, with far better services and ease of mind staying there.

Dear Zaryline,

Thank you for your feedback on your hotel stay on this forum. I am sorry to read that you felt discontent with the points mentioned in your review. The hotel is very centrally located and the BTS is right at the front of the hotel. The walk to the BTS is very well lit during the evening and is easily accessable.

I would like to mention that we take the safety and security of our guests and ambassadors very seriously and am sorry to read of your perceptions about the lighting on the guests floors.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us and safe travels ahead,

Kind regards
Blair.

The hotel is located in a really great area, honestly!
We were first lost and having trouble finding it. After leaving the airport, we took the airport line, and get off the train line at Ratchaprarop station, and accidentally we need to walk through the water-gate market in a hot and humid weather. Later, we realize it was a lot easier if we transfer at Phaya Thai station and transit to Chitlom. It is only 1-2 mins walk from the chitlom station.
The service was great and the staffs were being really nice. They helped out making lots of restaurants reservations for us, and even prepare a birthday cake in our room.
It is a nice hotel choice in BKK, especially the location! strongly recommended. You really want to live right next to the station, believe me!

The Renaissance Hotel in Bangkok is a hotel that I come back to almost every time I visit Bangkok. This is an excellent hotel in the heart of the city and some of the most professional hotel staff I have ever encountered work here. The hotel sits just across the parking lot from the Chit Lom BTS (SkyTrain) station so it is very conveniently located as you can access most of the city from the BTS. Taxis do take a few minutes to arrive at the hotel, so if you are going to the airport or somewhere that arrival time is important, be sure to give yourself a few extra minutes if departing from the hotel lobby.

I’ve had all positive experiences when staying at Renaissance hotels, though the overall experience differs from one hotel to the next. This hotel has a very nice breakfast buffet at their restaurant on the second level. I did not try any other meals at the hotel restaurants, but I presume they are of good quality as well. If you are a member of the hotel loyalty program, the food and drinks at the lounge are quite nice. One benefit this hotel provides that not all others do is the free daily laundry (only one piece per day of your stay, but it still saves some money) and a complimentary 15-minute head and neck massage.

Overall, I had a very good experience, again, while staying at this hotel. My suggestion to them would be the same as most other hotels - to serve better coffee with the breakfast (not sure why so many places seem to serve terrible coffee with a good breakfast buffet). They could also try to work on a way to get the taxis to the hotel quicker as there are an abundance of them in Bangkok and the hotel is right in the middle of everything. Aside from that, the hotel has great ambience, the rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable, the gym, pool, and spa are very nice, and the staff are exceptionally friendly.

I had to stay long term in Bangkok and was lucky enough to stay in this hotel. All the staff were very professional and helpful. The room was interestingly designed with a glassed in bathroom, very upscale. I also recommend the Chinese restaurant Fei Ya in the restaurant. It is rated as one of the best restaurants in Thailand and deservingly so.
