Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel
Ranked #46 of 885 Hotels in Bangkok
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 5 August 2010

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in July. As this hotel is new, it will be better if you would have the map (in thai) printed out for the taxi driver. Ratchaprasong is a very busy area and if the taxi driver make a wrong turn there, it will take you 30 mins or more to make it back to the hotel because Bangkok does have serious traffic problem.

The hotel decoration is very trendy and room is spacious. I love their hip and trendy design and bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is separated with the bedroom by glass walls and electric curtain . Their plasma tv has over 20 channels.

The hotel staff speak very good English and service is excellent. The room rate includes breakfast and they have good selection for their buffet breakfast and the eggs will be cooked upon ordered. You can also have expresso or cappuccino at no extra charge.

So much about the pros. Here are the cons; although the hotel is right next to the skytrain , you do have to walk through the driveway and carpark outside the hotel and have to watch out for incoming or outgoing traffic. The wifi service is available in room with a surcharge and its not cheap at all. They have very nice swimming pool, but unfortunately it is covered and you cannot get any suntan at all.

Afterall, this is a very nice hotel and if the wifi service and suntanning does not bother you. Then you will love this hotel.

Stayed here for 4 days with my wife and teen daughter. The hotel is brand new with modern decor. The location is good with the entrance to the BTS next to the hotel. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom (separate shower and tub). Breakfast was good. But what was really spectacular was the staff. From check-in, restaurant, bar, door men, everyone went out of their way to be extremely friendly and helpful to us. I would definitely stay here again.

First i liked the service check in was quick and with a smile .This hotel is brand new probably open few month ago in bangkok so it take little time for the taxi driver to find it.I will recomend to tell the taxi driver chitlom bts the hotel entrance is right next to it.The room was veeeeeeery comfortable and nice loved the decor .I will give them 5 star for customer service the reason was my flight to USA was at 11.00pm so i was concerned abt check out at 12.00pm so i asked them what is the late time i can check out the manager told me u can stay upto 6.00pm at no extra charge which was very gracious of them .Breakfast is also great +very attentive waitresses and trying their best to please the guests .I have travelled more then 40 countries and always stay in 4 or 5 star hotels i will highly recomend this one .

very attentive staff

Stayed at this all new property for a weekend with family.........very personalized service......rooms were very spacious and the decor was contemporary chic.......
Location could not have been better right next to Chidlom BTS and skywalk to take you to all the shopping malls......
It has a nice Italian restaurant and the 'R' Bar experience was good too.....the rooftop swimming pool and fitness centre is highly recommended.......still a very new property with small finishing touches being given all over the place.......Overall a great place to stay

Everything about this hotel is absolutely impeccable. The service was great, the hotel decor was just stunning. The lobby, rooms, bar, pool, and bathrooms were all so well designed.

Our favorite part was how spacious the room seemed. My partner loves staying in Marriott's due to their comfortable mattresses and this place was no different. The room was so well designed we actually attempted to delay our flight just so we could take an extra day to enjoy the hotel and it's amenities.

The rooftop pool and gym were exquisite. We were able to squeeze in some time to have lunch by the pool and what a view. The food was delicious as well. We've been traveling outside of the States for about 10 months now, and this was the best ceasar salad I've had.

The location was excellent and made it extremely easy to get anywhere in the city. The sky train is nearby or a taxi will be called for you at anytime.

So far this is our favorite hotel! Cannot wait to go back to Bangkok and will plan for an extra day to lounge in the hotel this time.

My second leg of Bangkok travel ended at Renaissance. The interiors are fresh and very contempory, however it lacked the sense of space and level of 5 star. Asking and explaining smallest thing took lot of time due to language issue. They did not have many english speaking people though the hotel next door had no such issues(intercontinental)
Surely not a value for money when many better options were available
