Boss has very clean and decent room. It is spacious and has no smell. It feels new. Price is so cheap for the experience. Just few walk away from Nana Bts. close to so many places including Little India, which is a must visit

Boss suites was the last hotel we stayed in during our honeymoon. We were very satisfied with this hotel. The location is perfect although for honeymoon probably not the best because it is located right next to Sukhumvit Soi 4 - Nana with lots of hookers and Thai/Farang couples or bars called "Charming bar" and such. On the other side it is close to the sky train so you can easily get anywhere you need. Hotel also provides a free tuk tuk to the main Sukhumvit street (yes, as many before mentioned - not the the Nana BTS station). From there it is about 3 minute walk to the BTS stop.
Hotel has a very nice swimming pool but it doest get any sunshine. Also it seems that the swimming pool area is akwardly the only place in the hotel where you can smoke so there is lots of people comming just for a cigaret. Otherwise nice size with only couple beach beds and clean towels. Also since it is right next to the restaurant you can order food or drinks.
Breakfast was a very nice bufett with many choices.
Room was small but with everything what you need. The only thing we didnt like about it was the open style bathroom. Fortunately the roller blind works really well :) Housekeeping cleaned the room daily but sometimes it took them a long time. Like when we left at around 9am came back at around 3pm and room was still dirty. Then we went to a swimming pool for about an hour and when we came back the room was cleaned so no problem really. We stayed 3 nights at Boss Suites and for some reason both of us had problems sleeping. I am not sure what it was because the hotel is very new and the bed and the mattress were new and fine but we did not woke up fresh anyhow.
They also have two wings A and B. There are rooms in both wings, reception is in wing A and swimming pool and restaurant is in wing B. The elevator from ground floor (reception) goes only to the A wing rooms so if your room is in B wing (our case) then you need to climb one flight of stairs up and take another elevator which is not the best but then it is closer to the swimming pool and restaurant for you ;)
Very nice touch was a birthday cake which I got for my birthday which I had during my stay in this hotel. They brought a box with a cake (nice large cake big enough to feed 4-5 people) with a lighter, candle, two plates and silverware - a very nice birthday kit :) They also sang me "Happy birhtday" song. I really appreciated that and it made me feel welcome and taken care of.
Free internet for 15 mins is provided in the business center next to the reception.

My partner and I decided to make a trip to Bangkok and after browsing through several webpages and reading some traveller's comments, we decided to put up 3 nights in Boss Suites. The location of this hotel is ideal for night life which is just minutes walk away. It is also located around 20-30mins from the airport in smooth traffic (By highway). First impression from the outside, you'd know that it is going to be a pleasant stay. The interior of the hotel spells of simplicity and comfort. You'll be greeted warmly by the front office staff who will quickly p/copy your passport & other relevant documents. Before you know it, the keys are already presented to you (They also served a welcome drink - Couldn't quite tell what it was but tasted OK).

Depending on which block you stay in (Two blocks in this hotel), you'll access to your floor by lift. We stayed in a Superior Room and specifically requested for a quiet room. They gave us a room that faced another block of rooms and it was quiet indeed. No traffic noise could be heard :)

The superior room comes in a variety of themes. It doesn't really matter which theme you choose as all rooms are of the same size and only some minor difference on the lamp shade, wall colour and bed runner. All rooms are equally as comfortable to stay in. Sadly, each room is only given one key card which means that we cant leave the aircond running to keep the room cool when we are out (Well, I guess its more enviromentally friendly in a way). However, the aircond was somewhat powerful enough to quickly cool the room down in less than 5 minutes upon return to the room. The room comes standard with a safe deposit box, ample lighting, LCD TV, DVD Player, Dressing Table, Mini Fridge, Coffee & Tea Facility & a cupboard. The most interesting part of the room would be the bathroom. The wall between the bathroom and the bedroom is made of see thru glass and not concrete. For couples, great view :) For travelling buddies of the same gender, there is a roll down blinds (Phew!). Well, let's just say that you'd be the best person to decide the pros and cons of this. The bathroom is small but well equipped. The shower unit comes with multiple shower heads so you can adjust to your liking. Get's a bit tricky to adjust sometimes, either that or the unit in my bathroom was faulty.

The bedroom area is covered in wooden floorboards and the mattress is comfortable and clean. Expect a good night's sleep undisturbed. Do take note that all rooms are non-smoking. Any service call (Ie. Room service, maintenance) is answered promptly. Do give the breakfast buffet a try (Included in the room package). Nothing fancy but just good ol fashion ABF (Ie. Toast, cheese, Sunny side up, chicken sausages, pork bacon, chicken ham, red beans, cereals, flavoured yoghurt, Juices, Coffee & Tea) with a mixture of some asian dishes (Ie. Scrambled eggs, Fried rice / noodle) to keep those bellies filled. You have a choice of inside (air conditioned) or outside (by the pool area) seating depending on the type of ambience you fancy. For lunch or dinner, they serve up an international spread which can be ordered off the menu. They provide room service but only up to 11pm after which the restaurant closes for business.

There is a business centre located next to the lobby & a counter for tourist information and assistance. Something really useful for a first time traveller in Bangkok. Free Bangkok maps are easily available upon request. Right outside the hotel is a seating area for dining & is smoking friendly. There is a cafe / bar located in the mezzanine floor but did not see it open during my stay. This hotel is strategically located at Soi 4 area where pubs & roadside foodstalls are abundance and within walking distance. Night light goes all the way up till 3-4am for the hardcore party animals. But do practice caution if you intend to travel with family as most of the pubs offer more than just drinks alone (I;m sure you get my drift). If Soi 4 lifestyle is not your cup of tea, then please get the front office to arrange a free Tuk Tuk service to bring you out to the nearest BTS Skytrain station which is Nana station. From there, you can connect to all the major parts of Bangkok with ease. As there are 3 different train lines (2 above ground and 1 beneath), be sure to enquire further at any of the stations for more information before purchasing a ticket. If you intend to travel frequently within the same day, then it would be advisable to purchase the all day pass for THB120 which will allow you unlimited travelling within a 24hrs timeframe.

Important tips to the 1st time travellers to Bangkok:
1. Be sure to either bring along an English to Thai dictionary OR write down a list of important words or sentences (Ie. Thank you / How do I get to / Give me more discount etc) and have it translated to Thai by the friendly Front Office staff. Majority of the locals can't speak or read in English.
2. Get a map of Bangkok as well as the Skytrain & MRT network as soon as you check in so that you can begin planning your shopping or food route
3. Ask the locals for good food recommendation which is reasonable in price
4. Bring some sunblock if you intend to stay out the whole day as Bangkok is a hot and sunny city and the Skytrain may not always get you right to the doorstep of your intended destination.
5. Wear and pack light when travelling and ALWAYS have your valuables either locked in the room safe or kept in a pocket with zipper - Bangkok may be a safe place for tourist but there are many cases of pick pockets.
6. Break lots of loose change (Ie. THB1, 5, 10, 20, 50 & 100). Reason being that a lot of locals either the taxi / tuk tuk drivers or stall operators will try their level best to make a quick buck from the tourists (Ie. If the taxi ride came up to THB350, and you paid THB500, it is likely that they will only refund you THB100).
7. Bring enough cash for all your expenditures including hotel stay and duty free shopping at the airport. Any transactions by credit card within Bangkok is open to carf fraud. This is common so please be sure to bring sufficient cash with you.
8. Try taking the road less travelled - If you want good food Thai food, likely that you'll find it at a roadside stall as compared to hotel or typical air conditioned restaurants. Those are more of a tourist trap. But do take into consideration the cleanliness at the same time.
9. Good shopping bargains are best found in Chaktuchak (Jatujak) or Pratunam. Do remember to bargain on every item you set your eyes upon as they are known to start the offer at anywhere from 100% to 200% markup. Some even up to 300%! Chaktuchak is a huge shopping area which is only open during the weekends and is not air conditioned so please wear light clothings. Pratunam is more of a whole sale shopping centre so buying in volume will enable a better bargain. Forget about the rest of the "famous" shopping centres unless you'd want to end up buying at normal retail prices.
10. Always travel by the BTS Skytrain or MRT as the road traffic is ridiculous almost any hour of the day. If you hop into a taxi, be sure to check if the run on meter and not a fixed rate. There are other cheaper alternative to travel short distances which is via a motorcycle version of a taxi service but only suitable for lone travellers.
11. If you'd like to take a boat tour of Chao Phraya, be sure to walk to the jetty without being accompanied by your taxi driver. Other wise, the rates will be hiked up tremendously as part comission for the taxi driver. Be sure to confirm with the poeple at the jetty on the rates per person and what the package includes (Ie. How many stops at the temples & the route).
12. Always keep track of your expenditure at the local pubs or pole dancing bars. Otherwise, you may end up with a final receipt which is more than you can chew. Never be afraid to ask the dirnks price in the first place. Places where you are more likely to over-indulge in alcohol, just remember to keep track of how much you have drank or go with a friend that is good at keeping tab.
13. While most Thai locals a very friendly people, be weary of those who are overly friendly as they may have a devious scheme under their sleeves.
14. When walking in duty free shops within the airport (That is the only place I know that has duty free shops) or anywhere else, be sure to pay for the items in your hand before stepping over to the next section. (Ie. Some dutry free outlet may incorporate a section for chocolates, fragrances and alcohol). Some reported cases where the tourist is caught off guard when they were accused of stealing. I personally did not face such a problem but still, you can never be too safe.
15. Always check with your hotel front office, in case there is any areas that you should avoid in case of any ongoing mass protests or political unrest.

i liked the hotel, the rooms are spacious and clean. the staff did a wonderful job, very friendly and polite, ready to provide the best service. The price through internet was 1600baht for a double room and that is good value for money, but for backpackers seems a bit expencive. The buffet in the breakfast is worth it, good food, big selection. i recommend it. Its also very useful that they provide a free tuk tuk service to the closest sky train station.

Last time I was at Bangkok I stayed in a Soi 4 hotel in immediate vicinity and got a quite good price-value relation. Based on an indepth review of different offerings at Soi 4 Sukhumvit and vicinity and after a friend of mine located at Bangkok personally checked three different possible hotels I decided to book my two weeks stay at Boss Suites Bangkok.
At a very affordable rate of around THB 1400 I got everything I could expect from a hotel in this class - and even more.

First of all the overall concept and architecture is new and fresh and all the facilities are working. The hotel has a very nice and open lobby space with a 24hrs staffed reception. The reception was always top in friendlyness and its customer orientation and did a great job looking after ones wishes and requirements. Also in the lobby you will find a branch of Sri Siam Travel Office, a company run by a German and his thai wife and some local staff. They also provide great service and consult a traveller about possible trips very well.

Not so standard setup was, that the travel office als runs the "outlet" for the laundry for the hotel guests. As I prepared my first laundry bag the day after my arrival, I was bit surprised when the bag still laid on the floor of my room returning around lunchtime, even the room was made by the maid. I called the maid (on my floor in fact a man) and asked about the laundry bag. Unfortunately English was not the core competence of him and eventually some of the supervisors took the bag with her. Waiting two days for my laundry to be back in the room and nothing happening I asked finally at the reception and learned, that I d rather read the guest information on my room. There was clearly stated, that one has to deposit the laundry with the travel office - and get them back after 24 hrs in perfect state washen and ironed. At a very affordable price I have to add. But however: once accustomed to the procedure everything worked perfect.

I also wonderd a bit, that breakfast is only served between 06h30 to 10h00 am and the breakfast is finished quite a bit early compared by international standards. The breakfast buffet is not overly abundant when it comes to fruits, bakery and confitures, but included in the room price and quite ok. On the other hand there was always a good selection of rice, noodles, boiled eggs, fried egg, ham, sausages and omeletts and a late breakfast had the quality of lunch / brunch. Maybe this was the reason the finish "breakfast" already at 10h00 for not blur the lines between breakfast and lunch. Coffee, the, cold milk and two different fruit juices (more correct: lemnades) complete the overall breakfast buffet offering.

I had a room on garden side (in reality its the yard of a nearby "church" with some green trees in front of the windows. The rooms are modern and functional. Inroom safe, minibar, flat lcd tv, a dvd player are standard. The large (square) sized king size bed was of an very good quality. The room has only ceramic and kind of laminated (false parquet) floors and no carpets at all: guarantee that they never smell and are meticulously cleaned.

A new feature you have to be used was the glass wall between bathroom (shower) and the sleeping room. Showering or even sitting on the toilet you always have a full look of the sleeping room - and vice versa. Of course you have a rollo you can shut down. Asking about this bit of special seutp I was informed from a fellow hotel guest, that it proved to be very usefull, when he brought one of the working ladies from nearby Nana Enterainement Center (with its Gogo-Bars) back to the room. He could vanish to the bath and always had full control, what his guest was doing in the room. Never worrying she looks throug his things. Smart seutp on one hand and not disturbing, when you use the room solo, as I did. But for elder ppl with a more Victorian approach perhaps kind of strange.
Minor offset of the room was the lack of rack for the luggage. I had to put it on the floor. Also in a room for two people there was only one chair.
Big advantage was enough space to install my notebook, enough power outlets to connect the usual devices as nomadic global travller (notebook, phone charger, camera charger etc.) and very helpfull was also, that the power outlet at the working desk was not shut down together with the overall room power sources, when one removed the room smart card from its holder besides the door. During my stay the hotel offered free WiFi in the room with an fair speed. Only the VPN-connection with my companies server was sometimes bit haggling slow. But speed was enough to listen my home radio streams and keep in touch during 2 weeks with what happened at home also.
Also in the bath was a minor lack of place to store / put things. The sponge bag was always on the edge to fall down. But with a little caution it worked. In the shower you will miss a solid grip bar as well as a shelf for your showering items (shampoo etc.) After two days I remarked a small triangle of plexiglass in the corner of the shower intended to put the shower gel and found this problem eventually solved.
Overall - a big value for money, very nice and helpfull staff, some room to improve and a fair recommendation for everybody who is looking for a new, modern and affordable hotel at the end of Soi 4. And end, which also means not to much traffic and a quiet and peacefull setting in an almost residential area. But close enough to Sukhumvit (free tuktuk during the day) and to the Nana Nightlife places.

- provide free tuk tuk service to and from main road (i.e. not to Skytrain station) from early morning till 9pm.
- clean rooms, comfy beds (we stayed at the japanese themed triple room)

Upon arrival to Bangkok I was stuck for a hotel. Knowing friends in Bangkok, they suggested Boss Suites, a newly opened hotel down a side street of soi 4. I was amazed at the cleanliness of the hotel and the service provided by the always smiling reception staff. Due to the hotel just opening the discounted rate meant I got way more than I believe i paid for. The breakfast was a decent warm breakfast and the rooms where air-conditioned and spotless. The flatscreen was a nice touch along with a spacious shower and a very soft bed. The swimming pool is not the biggest i have seen but is great for a nice cool down.

Boss Suites location makes it a perfect place to stay if you want to get out and explore the city as its location, along with its TUK TUK service makes it easily accessible to all the major tourist destinations.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to bangkok no matter how long the trip!
