We stayed here on the basis of the reviews and it's tripadvisor award for 3 nights. For the cost it is excellent value for money & the majority of the reviews are quite accurate. The location is an issue because of taxi drivers refusing to travel there, they say they don't know it but the hotel insists it's because of the distance and that the taxis drivers don't want to go there on the meter. The hotel has a card you can use with instructions for taxi drivers, although we found it much easier when the super helpful staff wrote additional instructions in Thai for us to show people. Another tip.... Get the restaurant staff or hotel doormen to talk to the taxi drivers before you get in.., big help! The sky train is useful ad only 2 stops to the pier where you can board the boat that takes you to all major attractions ....... This Is positive but for nights out etc it's too far out. The rooms are a good size, and clean. Lovely hot showers. Downside.... Our room was only cleaned once during our stay and when it was the bedding was not changed which is not acceptable in the humid climate. We requested a room at the back after reading other reviews so it was peaceful, no traffic, but noisy with drunken people in the early hours in the corridors and rooms, which the hotel did nothing about so I would not recommend for families. The ac was powerful and the wireless access is a great touch. The "amazing breakfast" failed to
Live up to expectations, it is average although a nice touch was when we missed it on our 1st morning due to jet lag, they brought it to our room. Also the packed breakfast for our early morning trip to airport was appreciated.
In summary, worth a consideration but it's not the incredible place we were led to believe!

Me and the missus stayed here in April 2011 after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. It was our first time in Bangkok, so the free pickup from the airport after a long flight and landing in a confusing city was fantastic.

First impressions were all good. Free juice, friendly welcome, and then shown to a lovely room. I can't believe how cheap it is for accommodation this good.

The breakfasts were outstanding - you choose from a list the night before, and it's cooked for you in the morning. As well as the dish you choose, there is also a continental style buffet with fresh fruits, breads, cereals, etc.

The location is good - the friendly staff will help you get a metered taxi wherever you want to go, and it's about three minutes walk to the BTS station. The only slight problem with the location was getting a late taxi back at night - some taxi drivers had slight difficulty finding it, but wasn't too much of a problem if you keep a business card of the hotel on you, which has a map and the address on it.

The staff were courteous and friendly, and couldn't do enough to help, giving us tips, helping us with maps, etc.

Altogether a lovely place, and I've just rebooked for our second trip to Thailand next April!

My wife and I booked this hotel based on other travelers' reviews. Everything was pretty much as expected:
- very good value for money
- basic amenities, good service
- a bit away from the center of town (20 min from commercial areas, need to switch to river taxi for historic old town) but train station nearby makes it easy.
- if you plan on staying late downtown, unless you want to ride a cab or tuk-tuk back, you may want to consider something closer to the action.

Budget travelers will get a kick out of this place, and for the rate we cannot really complain. Sometimes the hallway may get noisy early in the morning and the AC takes a lot of time to cool down the room, but we had no issues with bedbugs or road noise (4F room).

Most reviews describe the hotel quite accurately. Just two tips from our experience:
1. We found the Thai menu for breakfast much more tasty than the western "eggs and sausage" breakfast. Remember, value for money!
2. If you have the hotel do laundry/wash, remember how much it was. When we checked out they tried to charge 20B for a 15B per item wash, although when we pointed it out they quickly reverted to 15B.

For this amount of money, there is very few places in Bangkok that can provide such good service. This hotel is located nearby Wong Wian Yai BTS station, well, maybe around 800 metres from the station? There is a shortcut behind the buildings to go from the BTS to the hotel, don't use the long way of going all the way to the traffic light. Near to BTS means that there is no problem going to shopping malls.

When we first arrived there, we were being served cool orange juice, though not my favourite, it is a very nice gesture. WiFi is given free of charge to the guest staying there, it is not bad considering there is not much other WiFi signal available over there. Like previous post has mentioned before, those staying facing the road might have to bear with the traffic noise from time to time, but it is not that bad.

Airport pickup is complimentary given by the hotel, as the traffic in Bangkok can be bad at times, sometimes the journey from the airport to the hotel, will be slower than taking the airport train. Breakfast is given complimentary as well, which is not that bad. Airport delivery is not complimentary though, only the pickup.

There is a food stall beside the bank beside the hotel, during the day and evening, so it is not that bad when we are hungry. Opposite the hotel, there is a thai seafood restaurant as well, which is very reasonably priced, and the food is not bad. We were only there at night, so not sure if they are opened at night. Along the street, there will be more food joints available, we did not try all of them though.

If we want to go to any places in Bangkok, we can just ask the receptionist, they will provide the suggestions and ideas on how to go there. We even booked a cab to Damnoen Saduak through them, and it is cheaper than tthe quotation given by tourwithtongs earlier.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not facing the road

I stayed here 5 nights and want to note so undoubted advantages, as firstly - very nice and friendly stuff (recepcionists, a chef-cook of restaurant, porter). Stuff tried to dissuade me take a taxi to airport, because by bus 551 is cheaper. Secondly - good good choice kinds of breakfast add to buffet (at the evening you can choice main dish from some kinds, i recommend thai dish, but it is not all, because in buffet is so many fruits). There cook very good. Thirdly - the location is good, it is near center of Bangkok, 1 station BTS from Saphan Thaksin, but not noise. Near hotel is market for local people, where you can buy some fruits, vegetables, spices for cheap price, and you can buy thai food there or eat here. I booked hotel in Agoda for about 1 000 baht and it is good price, the room is large, comfortable, with king-size bed, TV, air-condition, refrigerator, kettle, safe-box (i used it for my documents and laptop, all right), free speed wi-fi, all things for bath etc. 1 minus - not swimming pool.

Staff - the best staff I encountered in Thailand, very polite.. extremely helpful, nothing was a problem.. one of the guys even walked with me to a local restaurant/market to show me what I could eat locally, they were great at flagging down metered taxi's for the guests, come out the hotel and turn right, right again where the carpark is and there is a few local shops like newsagents there that sell soft drinks for about 20 baht for coca cola, the staff were excellent, the location is a short 4 min walk to the sky train station.

Faultless and If I went back, I'd definitely want to return to this hotel, and would recommend to anyone else.. all the luxuries of more expensive hotels with staff who actually care, never pestered but were there when you needed anything.

Great breakfast as well - you won't go wrong staying here. Make sure to reserve ahead; it's safe and they know what they're doing. I actually wanted to stay again after a week in Phuket, but they were full. All the staff were super. If they are still picking guests up at the airport, take advantage of this service as Bangkok is a big city and it can be a bit confusing after just arriving.
