With so many options of where to stay in Bangkok i think we were really lucky to have picked this one. Everything was great from the minute we stepped out of the taxi till we left. The room was huge with views of the skyline of Bangkok so no need to waste money going to a skyline bar. The beds are big and comfortable with lovely linen. There is absolutely nothing to find fault with this hotel. We had a great 4 nights here.

We stayed at the Anantara Bangkok Sathorn for a recent 3 night getaway with our kids. We upgraded and did the Kasara package which was a great option firstly for a great view of the Bangkok skyline but also an option for those in between meals of where a quick drink and meal with the kids might have been a good option after a long day being a tourist. Bangkok has a huge amount to offer and the staff on Concierge and Drivers were fantastic. They had great advice and ideas and were more than happy to assist. We ended up getting a driver for 4 hours to take us around the sites and he was fabulous. It is a great way to be ferried around without the hassle and it is really not that expensive. Overall great option. If stuck for ideas for something different in Bangkok check out Spice Road bike tours. We did a half day with the kids (youngest 8) and it was great.

Word of Note though. There are 3 Anantara hotels in Bangkok and we ended up booking this one when perhaps we had been advised the Anantara Bangkok Riverside was a great option but we didn't know there were 3 hotels to chose from - we booked in haste clearly. Anyway we stayed at the Sathorn and it was excellent but make sure you check.

Room Tip: Kasara Option - for a little more you get the option of the club lounge

I don't think I've ever felt so welcomed at a hotel ever before. From the minute I arrived to the moment I left the staff were amazing. The same receptionist who checked me in also checked me out, he still remembered my room number and name (4 days later).

We were 3 friends travelling together, had booked a 2 bedroom apartment on the 32 floor, breakfast and the benefits of the Kasara lounge included. The room it self was nice and spacious, elegantly furbished with two balconies. Only downside to the room was that there were no furniture on either of the balconies, great views from both though.

We tried both breakfast options, the restaurant and the lounge. The selection offered at the restaurant was bigger than in the lounge, but I found what was offered at the lounge suited my needs. The lounge offers a calming and relaxing breakfast experience with highly personalized service.

The Kasara lounge was really nice, great selection of small warm dishes to enjoy with your drinks for cocktail hour (18-20). Several drinks / soft drinks , 3 different types of red wine and 3 different white wines, one sparkling. Didn't go trough them all, but enjoyed the ones I had. One think I particularly liked about this lounge was the outdoor sitting area, offering great views of Bangkok at the 37th floor. There is also a part of the outdoor area that is protected by a roof, so you can still enjoy sitting outside on a rainy day. The staff at the lounge were amazing, genuinely friendly and very attentive.

The hotel consists of two buildings, where the swimming pool is located between them, It might obscure the sunlight for bigger parts of the day, but as it was mainly cloudy while we were the I don't know for sure. Quite large pool, and a rather small children's pool. The gym is located right next to the pool, went there once and was impressed about the selection available.

Others have mentioned that the distance to the nearest BTS station is a "problem", for me it wasn't an issue at all. It takes about 10 minutes to walk, and if your too lazy for this short walk, grab a motor bike taxi on the street that will take you the for less than a dollar

Very good value for money throughout the stay, would indeed like to return to this hotel!

Room Tip: Room on a high floor that faces towards Sathorn road, the view is really nice

I was a kid when I first stopped by at Bangkok. I say "stopped by" because it was one of those
"late-night, barely an hour" sort of stuff and one was literally dragged to a hotel , courtesy Thai Airways. Actually the flight then used to be of Thai Airways flight to Singapore ( from where I used to import bulk stocks of textile ) ...... via Bangkok. There were no direct flights from Dhaka to Singapore in those days.
After all these years I was looking forward to my trip to Bangkok and I took great pains to search the net for Hotels ....... choosing, listing, discarding and shortlisting ....... this went on for a few days. Then, almost by magic I discovered the Anantara, Sathorn. It is a lovely piece of property which, I understand, is still in " growth" . It has all the makings of class and quality. A hotel, yet not quite that. There is an intense personalisation of the "guest-hotel" factor which tends to make one feel very much welcome, very much at home ...... When you drive into it you are not overawed but you can almost hear yourself draw a sharp breath, " this is going to be good " !! That is what it was, just exactly that !It was a " super deal", the guest the winner ....... A very modern entity. Very nice rooms, tastefully furnished. Flat screen TV,mini bar, coffee/ tea maker ........ table , work desk Wi fi, and more than enough circulation area !
The double bed is large and comfortable. A modern bathroom with paraphernalia ( soap, shampoo, conditioner, the works) .......... and wait !! There is a BALCONY where you can sit, relax and while away the time !!
The food menu is varied and diverse. The quality excellent. Try the Haiderabadi Biryani or the Bolognaise for your kid ...... great stuff. And the morning Breakfast. It is out of this world !!You are given such a huge choice of taste and variety..
The staff are friendly, helpful and on the up at all times .......
THANK YOU ANANTARA FOR A WONDERFUL TIME !!
I RECOMMEND it very highly to everybody !!!!!!!!!!!

We had a stopover in Bangkok for one night of the way home from Europe. This was the first time we had stayed at the Anantara Hotel and we weren't disappointed. We were given a room upgrade to a suite on on Floor 26 with a balcony and fabulous views over the city. The porter who took us to our room was very friendly and was able to answer all our questions and point out landmarks in the city.

The buffet breakfast included in the price was one of the best I have had anywhere, a big selection of food and an egg station. The concierge was happy to look after our bags when we checked out and went shopping while we waited for our late night flight and we were offered use of the pool and bathroom facilities.

The only down side is the location of the hotel but having said that, the MRT is only a 10 - 15 minute walk and cabs are very cheap. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Our second visit to Bangkok and the Anantara did not disappoint, the welcome at Reception through to the excellent service in the Dining Room were all that we expected after our first visit earlier this year. Arriving late in the evening after travelling all day is tiresome but the lovely staff took over and in a short time we were in our rooms and our luggage being delivered. The lovely spacious (64Squares) rooms were clean and fresh and extremely comfortable, especially the beds which can be rather hard throughout Asian countries. Breakfast was delicious and we were happy to see a lovely waitress we remembered from last time (Lek) who remembered us also, she greeted us with her beautiful smile every morning making a great start to the day. The pool area, although quite windy, is a great area to relax after a day of sightseeing and Happy Hour provided some very nice Mojito's and Singha Beers for us to enjoy. Our 7 day stay in Bangkok was made all the more enjoyable because of the comfort and peaceful ambience of the Anantara Bangkok Sathorn.
