“Good place to stay, could be 5 stars with improvements”
Reviewed 4 November 2012

We stayed 4 nights in a double bedroom executive suite and we overall enjoyed our stay.
Apartment was large and really ideal for a couple with kids. Each bedroom with a bathroom, nice living room and kitchen that we didn't used. The hotel is located near the Nana BTS train station which is very convenient to move around in the city. The area is not wonderful but fine.
Attention to detail could be improved :
Kitchen furniture were not very clean, bathroom cleaning could be improved as well, but for the rest the apartment was really nice.
There is a pool on the 8th floor which is good and convenient without being luxurious.
What disappointed us the most was the breakfast, the area is OK, but the menu is very limited, especially for people who don't eat salty stuff. just bread and some kind of croissant (if we can call this croissant) the marmalade is certainly the cheapest you could find on the planet and fruit juices are disgusting.

Another 14 nights in a deluxe studio with balcony at Phachara suites. Friendly service. Cost about 35,000 baht total (part pre-paid), so 2,500 a night inclusive of breakfast and tax. Washing machine, ironing board and iron all very handy, used about 8x. Nice view. Small balcony gets evening sun. Internet cable or wireless 1,200 a week. Great location for access to Nana station and Skytrain to Bearing or Mo Chit. Good breakfast with plenty of variety. Ate in restaurant one night and that was very good too. Will be back.

Room Tip: Pay extra to get a small balcony. One side gets sun in the afternoon; other side gets sun in the mor...

We had seen some reviews saying the front desk staff were rude and didn't seem to care. We decided to visit the hotel while in Bangkok before we booked. We were very impressed with the hotel. We saw "Tik" who showed us 2 rooms. Deluxe Studio and Exceutive Studio. Tik answered all of our questions and gave us very good rates. Hence to say we booked for our last 4 nights in Bangkok.
The Bed in the middle of the room was great. Eveything was clean and new. TV had many stations and they also had a DVD player. We found all the staff helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was basic and nice. Certainly not the worst I've had, and I would not rate this hotel on the breakfast.
I normally stay on the other side of Sukhumvit Road. Some reviews have indicated not a good location and dark Soi to walk down at night. We had no problems with location. There are 2 ways to get to and from the hotel. One is from Sukhumvit Road down Soi 6 which is perhaps 300 metres to the hotel. Or off Soi 4 about 100 metres. If you are worried about dark lanes (it really isn't that dark) you can walk down Soi 4. This way is a 5 minute walk.
We REALLY liked this hotel. I normally stay at another hotel, but my home away from home in Bangkok is now Phachara Suites Hotel & Serviced Residence.

The room was great, spotless, nice decor and very comfortable, great location, staff always friendly and polite. Have to agree with a previous comment re: front desk reception staff. I wouldn't go as far as saying they were a gruesome twosome but these two were a little aloof and came across as a tad self important. I would highly recommend this hotel but without the breakfast. We found the breakfast menu quite boring and the bacon resembles beef jerky.

Room Tip: Request Balcony, Breakfast elsewhere.

friendly staff, studio styled rooms, quiet location, 5 min walk to Nana skytrain station (if you take the walk via soi 4 then you will go right into one of bkks redlight areas, if you dont like that, walk down soi 6 or take the hotels tuktuk service). The check in and out was easy. The only thing i was a little tired off, was that the aircon control is sitting in the wall and cant be removed. All in all a fine stay for the money paid.

I stayed here for long term basis. traveling across the world, I have never seen this kind of pathetic service from front desk. They have no tendency to do anything good for customer and everything is charged - watch out they have a tendency to charge you for things that you dont use or never ask for :) Rooms are modernized luckily but sound proofing is absent (dont be surprised if you hear loud flushing sounds or bed time exciting sounds from next room). Electronics are outdated but functional. Swimming pool and gym is always locked and are severely worn out / broken down. Staff are good but they appear severely stressed out by managed which results in severe decline in services for customers. I will never come back here again nor recommend this place for others. customers will have plenty of choice in bangkok for the prices that you may have to pay for phachara. To wind up - it is a good place, good location, good rooms but management is major let down.

Room Tip: Pls avoid this place unless you cant get any more cheaper deal elsewhere.

Dear SharatMendu,

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback on your last stay at the Phachara Suites.
Please accept our sincere apologies if your overall experience has not met your expectations.
We have thoroughly reviewed your comments with all department heads concerned and very regretfully it seems we have not received any comment or concern from you during your 3 months stay with us.
The property has been fully renovated under Frasers Hospitality about 2.5 years ago, providing all new electronic equipment (flat screen TV, DVD player, IPod dock) as well as brand new kitchen facilities such as washer dryer, inlaid hot plates etc which add on greatly to the overall comfort of the very spacious rooms.
The property pool and fitness are indeed accessible only by the guests' electronic keycard for safety reasons only, ensuring only hotel guests have access and small children can not wander in these areas unaccompanied.
Regarding the fitness equipment provided, some of the machines are indeed not of the latest model, however all the equipment is maintained in perfect working condition at all times. Please be nevertheless informed that the property is currently sourcing some new machines to be added within this year to enhance the overall work out experience.
Thank you again for taking the time to bring these matters to my attention.
We do hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again to the Phachara Suites when traveling to Bangkok again.
Kind regards,

Nathalie Post
