Great budget hotel

Review of Budacco Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Oct 2012
We really enjoyed our stay at Budacco...The rooms are a bit small though but at the price its quite good. The rooms are clean and well maintained and very good natured staff.. I will definitely stay here again and will recommend this.

My friends and I (8 of us in total) decided to try out this small boutique hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor, We took a cab out of the airport. By meter, the cab fee came up to be 200 baht plus 25 baht for going the highway. By quote, the cab fee is approximately 300 baht. (Do take note though, the boot space is really small.) The hotel is right in a small alleyway of Pratunum market and you must keep your eyes open for the small signage. The landmark would be Baiyoke Sky hotel, then take a left turn and a right turn. The hotel is on the right. You can try looking out for a shop (not the push cart type) that sells those helicopters toys and electronic stuff.
The hotel stuff speaks good english and there's always someone to open the door for you. It is nice and cosy. You'll get a welcome drink upon arrival. There are altogether 8 levels and unfortunately the elevator goes up to only 7th level. So if you stay on the 8th, which we did, you had to climb a level up. The stairs are pretty high and narrow. Quite difficult if you have luggages with you.
The room is spick and span - no complaints at all. Room cleaning is daily, and they really scrub even the shower room. The bathroom glass is frosted so you can see shadows of the person using the bathroom... some people might be uncomfortable with this. There's a safe, hair dryer, shower amenities and two bottles of water free everyday. But there's no toothbrush and toothpaste. Remember to bring it. There's also a wide range of TV channels and free wifi on every level although the signal is quite weak. Only funny thing was the sink is actually outside the bathroom behind the door, which is really strange. And for room 6, the sink is actually next to the TV. The walls are quite thin, so hopefully you don't get big groups like us. I think we must have made quite alot of noise... There's also a weighing scale to weigh your bags before you leave if you need it. The breakfast is simple but not too bad. Just eggs, sausages, ham, rice, salad and cereal - buffet style.
The area is right smack in the Pratunum market. Next door, there's a massage parlour. Indian restaurants are everywhere. Baiyoke Sky Hotel is the landmark for taxis and tuk-tuk if you want to get back from elsewhere. There's no shortage of cabs and tuk tuk at the door way. There's street food everywhere. And it's walking distance to Platinum Mall and Central World. Only thing, it's not near any station so you got to get around by cab. There's no shortage of shopping around, cheap especially since more of the stores charges wholesale prices, meaning if you buy more, it's cheaper.
Just some gauge... if you do take taxis, the quotation to Chinatown is about 150-200 baht / MBK is 100 baht / Nana is 100 baht / Siam square is 100 baht ...
I think I will keep this place KIV. It's really nice.

A relatively small budget hotel that is designed with pastel colors which give a happy and girly feel. However, the hotel is located in the middle one of the lane that is not visible, so it is hard to find but if you ask vendors around the lane, they can guide you.
The hotel has small reception and the receptionist is unfriendly and unreasonable because we booked a few rooms and have requested the rooms to be on same level during booking but upon arriving, they said many rooms are fully booked and gave us rooms in different levels. When we told them our request was pre-informed, and told them to arrange our rooms, they were grumpy and unwilling. Hence, we were staying different levels.
As for the room, it is of reasonable size with basic nesscesarities. Simple design based on pastel colors; every room is has a colour theme. The room are clean but the heater wasn't working properly for my room. Worse if all, the level broke down on 1 of the nights! We have to climbed the stairs up to level 8....
Breakfast is not bad but very few selection and almost the same choices daily. But the normal menu is tasty!
However, girls need to be careful because there are many africian people at night in the hotel area.

i stayed at budacco from 15th until 18th october based on the good reviews, we decided book this hotel online.. after we arrived this hotel , the little disappointed was the location on the small alley and very hard to find.. but after we arrived , we were happy that the hotel not as bad as we thought.. we were welcome with drink and wet towel and the interior of the hotel was beautiful and the room was clean,, as a boutique hotel , the room was big enough,, we were happy that the location very good near to platinum fashion mall and indra square.. and pratunam market just downstairs.. and just beside baiyoke sky hotel ..a very good place to stay.. the breakfast hasn't too many choices but it was delicious,, very worth to stay. if we travel bangkok again , we are sure that this hotel will be our main stay hotel..
and they help us called the taxi when we leave..
thanks so much and i will very RECOMMEND it to stay,,

Room tip: dont choose the 8th floor room if u carry a big luggage because there's no lift to the 8th floor,, the lift inly goes to 7th floor

Small and clean, with easy access to Pratunam and Platinum mall. The wifi provided was a bonus, and connection was quite stable.

Location wise, it is situated at a small back alley, and may be quite hard to find. Blink and you will miss it.

Service wise, the staff were attentive and helpful. We had requested a room change and they acceded to it readily. Same goes to the security guards who greeted us readily with a smile each time we went out and came back to the hotel.

Will definitely stay at this hotel again for my next trip :)

It is a clean and small hotel. It provides basic amenities like towels, shampoo, shower foam, teabags and coffee. We were given two bottles of mineral water each day too. Best part was it comes with good and free WIFI. Shower is clean and water pressure is good. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Budacco is near to platinum mall and of course pratunam market is literally downstairs. Shopping starts the moment you get out of the hotel. Only issue I had was bad soundproofing. I can hear doors opening and closing as well as people walking heavily. This may be an issue for light sleepers. Other than that, I will definitely choose Budacco if I want to have more money for shopping!

Room tip: Level 8 does not have lift access so if you expect heavy baggage, you may want to choose other floors other than level 8.
