Not great, fine for a night

Review of Chada Hostel
2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Apr 2012
We stayed here on a cyclical SE Asia tour, so a total of four nights six weeks apart. The receptionist remembered us, which was unexpected, as she was so indifferent to our existence the first time round. The room wasnt very clean, they had hairs all over the floor and empty contact lenses pots. The walls are all on a wonk, which is a bit confusing if you have one too many tiger beers! Nice place to crash, wouldnt go out of your way to stay there at all.
Date of stay: January 2012
Room Tip: lower floors better. Check the windows to see which part of the road they face.

We stayed here 3 times. In 2010 and 2012. The rooms are great. Airco room with double bed private bathroom windows for 650 bath. There js à nice area for relaxing. Where you can watch tv and dvd's. Wifi is Free. The staff can be very unfriendly. We stayed here on 3 different occasions. And every time they say there full. And after à short discussion. And saying that you called earlier there are plenty of rooms. So if they say there full keep trying. They wil store youre bags if you have to catch à late night bus. We even had our bags store for 2 weeks. The charge you but it is Nice if you want to go to the Islands and allready bought alot.

Overal rooms are Nice. Cleaning was better in 2010 then 2012.
The older man at the reception is very Nice. He will be helpfull. THE others are not nice and very rude.
At the end of koh san its à great place to stay.

I went to Bangkok last September and staying at this hostel. Very neat hostel. Clean room, and with as a woman traveller I feel safe with this hotel regulation. Their room is in the 3rd floor, the recception is in the 2nd floor, and in reception there are many regulation that said "No Thai girl and Lady Boy allowed upstairs". Have a very nice shared bathroom.

The receptionist were also very helpful and this hostel really know our need. they allowed us to leave our backpacks even we already checked out (for wait the bus), and there are shuttle bus service to the airport.

If I'm going back to Bangkok, I will definitely staying in this hostel again.

We went to Bangkok last Sept. 11-13, 2011.

We really liked this hostel because when we came in, the receptionist was kind enough to let us check in earlier. We went in before 9am and he didn't charge us. He even allowed us a room (which was only for 2) when we wanted it because it has its own comfort room. There were 3 of us.

The hostel is located in the mouth of Khao San Road so it's the nearest. It is also within the walking distance of the Grand Palace Complex (around 10 mins). It is also directly in front of famous food chains like McDonalds, KFC and Burger King. Subway is on the bottom of the building. The receptionist were friendly enough, especially that one man (whom we think was the owner). He spoke a very clear English. The receptionists speak English too, though the lady's accent is difficult to comprehend.

The place is very neat! You had to leave your footwear at the bottom of the stairs if you want to come up. I don't know if that's how it is on the other hostels but we liked it because it kept the place clean. The Internet connection was decent but we had to pay... But there was WIFI so it was ok! Enough hot water and aircon was good. It wasn't noisy too!

We never had any problems at all.

Room tip: Check the rooms first before you check in. They allow it. If it's not good enough for your taste, go find another hostel. They don't mind.

One of the more expensive hostels in khoa San road, but lovely rooms with good aircon and clean bathrooms. We stayed here for 4 nights as we really liked the place and thought the staff were nice. On our last day we asked if we could leave our rucksacks at the hostel as we were waiting for a bus at 6pm. We left our rucksacks there along with about 20 other bags. After checking my bag after leaving the hostel i found the purse hidden right at the bottom of my bag was now empty. They had stolen 4000 baht and £70 in Thai money. They had gone right through my bag. DONT STAY HERE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR VALUABLES!

Good quality budget hostel on Khao San Road - we stayed in a room with a double bed and A/C for AU$20. Located at the end of Khao San road, it is close enough to all the main attractions but far enough away that it wasn't too noisy during the night. The staff are very friendly and kindly held onto our bags for most of the day while we were waiting for a night bus.
The small dining room on the main floor offered one free serving of toast and coffee or tea in the morning. With a clean common area that offered a large range of DVD's and internet connection attached to the dining area.
