“Prestigious location”
Reviewed 8 February 2013

This is one of the best holiday condominium I have ever been to. I was there a few years back and it was an amazing experience. This time it was even better.

What an amazing apartment with a view to the river!. And they really did advertise it correctly in their website and I must say , it was a relaxing and entertaining vacation this time

Wonderful pool and gym.The skyscraper (Baan Sathorn Chaophraya) is very well maintained, from floor 29 we felt like flying.

Location is so perfect , away from all the noise and clutter of Silom and Sukhumvit, yet located in one of the most prestigious city centers, steps from the Peninsula and the Mandarin Oriental hotels.

I am trying real hard to find something I did not like so that this review doesnt sound too good , but I really cannot think of any . Its an ideal location , and they have limo service, bus services and skytrain to all the local spots . They have a ferry (free) to cross the river!

We'll come again, sure thing.

My wife and I stayed at the TheRiverSideBangkok apartments for four nights in January 2013. We stayed in a 21st floor studio apartment called the Narcissus. A few issues prevented us from giving it a 5 star rating (see below). The building is located directly across the Chao Phraya River from the Saphan Taksin river taxi and BTS stops. A ferry that runs every 15 minutes during peak time and every 30 minutes off-peak shuttles you across and back. The best aspects of our stay were the excellent view over the river, the smiling doorman who greeted us as we entered and exited the building, the relaxing ferry ride to and from Saphan Taksin, and the roomy and modern design of the apartment. Contacting Peter to provide transport from/to the airport was worth the 700 THB fare. Our driver, Mr. Viwatt, was prompt, courteous, and a pleasure to talk with making the trip enjoyable and hassle-free.

All is not perfect, however, and being that this was advertised as a luxury apartment, our expectations were higher for the Narcissus over the other more inexpensive hotels we stayed at in our three country visit. Two issues prevented us from giving this apartment 5 stars. First, the wifi connection was very poor. It was not a wonder when after using Speedtest.net, we clocked it at 0.25 Mbps download the first day then slowing to 0.04 Mbps by the fourth day making it impossible to log on to the internet. It went from slow to unusable. We had asked one of the apartment managers about resetting the router but was told that the router was located in the ceiling and was not so easy to reset. A second issue was that the TV had a noticeable blue line running vertically down the middle of the screen. This said, the apartment was still a haven to return to from the noise and chaos outside. At then end of the day, we always looked forward to the ferry ride across the river and relaxing in the apartment.

Pros:
- excellent view overlooking Chao Phraya River
- quiet setting away from the noise and crowds of Bangkok
- friendly doorman
- convenient ferry to and from Saphan Taksin river taxi and BTS stops
- roomy and modern apartment
- TV with good selection of DVD's
- small stereo with a selection of CD's
- airport transport worth the extra money

Cons:
- slow wifi with no easy way to reset router
- tv has blue line running down the middle of the screen

Room Tip: If wifi is important, make sure router can be reset easily.

Many thanks for the review and feedback, we did experience Wi-Fi problems over the new year with our provider but they have been solved now, in addition we will make the router accessible.

We will also look into the TV problem with the blue line.

Best wishes

First time I stay in an apartment abroad but I needed a place where to stay for one month. Friends told me about this company, I tried them and I was very satisfied. They offered the apartment Magnolia, all their places have a name of a flower. Magnolia was very good for me, it smelled new and it was, Decoration is high class, furniture and utensils very nice. A small balcony gave me the view of the beautiful river, at night is really something. The building is very safe and beautifully kept, in particular the pool and gym. A lot of security, in my opinion not needed cause the are is quite safe and nice. I used their limo service, competent and efficient, internet in car.

Room Tip: It seems that the corner apartments are the best

Our family of 5 had a great 4 night stay in " Marigold" on the 25th floor in December 2012. It's a huge 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment, beautifully furnished, with views of the river (just gorgeous at night). Perfect apartment for our family with small kids, and much more space than we would have had in a hotel. We've stayed in Bangkok a number of times before, but the info pack in the room was thoughtfully compiled and useful.

The pool complex is fantastic, lots of little spa areas to keep the kids occupied. The location is great if you want to be on the river - it's not in a touristy area but it has quick and easy transport options to the main centres. The hotel boat shuttle has limited hours but we usually used the public ferry which is only a few minutes walk away - it costs next to nothing and runs every few minutes. We ate on the 'quiet side' of the river a couple of times and there's a couple of good restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartment, as well as heaps of great street food day and night.

A couple of little frustrations - the free wifi was fairly intermittent, and the computer terminals in the public areas were only open limited hours. During our stay the electrical wiring for the building was being checked, so they had scheduled 3 days of fairly lengthy power outages (7 hours on one day!). We were surprised we hadn't been advised of this in advance as it meant we had to plan our day around the outages. But these were minor issues.

Overall excellent value and we'd definitely stay here again.

Spacious apartment "Sakura 2" for family with good air conditioning, lovely pool and very safe.
Peter, the guide/taxi driver recommended by the apartment was very helpful, friendly and drove us all to kanchanaburi, tiger temple and Hellfire Pass.

We stayed in the Malee for 5 days each at the beginning and end of a 2-month southeast asian trip. And what a gift it was - luxury and the feel of Bangkok in your own, quiet space.

First off - the unit is like a magazine. The floor to ceiling windows give fantastic views and the blinds let you pick the times you'd prefer total privacy. The soaker tub is an event in itself. Each night we would enjoy the lights of the skyline, the bridge and boats on the river. Dimmer lights just cap the ambience.

The pre-arrangements and communication are professional, timely and proved to be accurate. We arrived at 6am and were prepared in case the key or access was not quite ready - but it was all seamless. We contacted the owners for assistance a couple of times and responses were quick and helpful.

There is a well-thought-out booklet that's been compiled to help you find your way around the neighbourhood and the building's amenities. The only recommendation would be an updated and somewhat more detailed map with the local eateries and drink spots.

We used the gym and the pool - everything is very well maintained and clean. The kitchen was nicely outfitted for the in-room meals we chose to make. The washer worked perfectly and the clothes dried while hung in the heat of the bathroom in a couple of hours.

All-in-all, both thumbs up! Highly recommend.

We stayed in Sakura Studio for 3 nights and extended until 1900 (7pm) on the last day for 50% of the room rate. Great communication prior to arrival, no issue with getting the key from the doorman despite not having arrived until nearly 0400 (in the morning due to flight delays), and the room was spotless. Would have been nice to have someone welcome you, answer questions, etc. but we knew going in the key would be left with the doorman. Tried to meet up with the owner/manager the next day and the day after so we could get some tips on the area and finalize payment, however, our schedules did not mesh. Would be great if the ferry going across the river would run 7 days a week and throughout the day (no ferry from around 1030-1530...or something similar), but it wasn't a deal breaker. Huge kitchen and great appliances, though we couldn't figure out how to work the washer, nor could we locate the washers on the 6th floor despite following all the signs posted (lead to dead ends). Again, would have been nice to have someone to ask about all of this, but we couldn't meet up due to timing. Beautiful swimming pool on the 6th floor and great view, library with internet on the same floor. Wifi was on/off in our room, which was frustrating at times. Initially connected with no issues, but it would kick me off every now and then, and I had to connect via a different room/connection. Overall great deal, but would have been nice to have some personalized attention since we had never been to Bangkok/Thailand before.
