“Very Nice Hotel for a trip to Bangkok”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

The Ramada Hotel and Suites is a very nice located Hotel in Bangkok. It is close to almost everything. I had two very pleasant stays in this hotel.
The staff was friendly, nice and very helpfull any time of the day.
The room are very clean and cosy. The breakfast was rich and had a big selection of different food.
I never used the pool area which looked very nice as well.
I would visit this hotel again any time.

We enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at this hotel. Situated a very short walk from the main road, it is ideally situated for a visit to Bangkok. If you don't want to walk there is a complimentary taxi which is a nice touch.
Other positives; rain shower in the bathroom, check in counter staff were always happy to help, happy hour each day where drinks were 2 for 1 and the pool area was really nice and calming in a busy city. Also the skytrain is within easy walking distance.
There is some construction going on next door but hopefully will be over soon.
Would stay here again.

The reviews are absolutely right. This place is very comfortable, convenient, clean, and relaxing. We booked our room directly with their Bangkok office because we wanted to be updated with the political crisis around the area, and their reservations assistant manager, Ms. Areepong, updated us about the situation almost every day. She was very professional, helpful, patient and responsive. Our emails were replied to almost instantly and we never had to wait a day to receive a response.

I also loved the fact that all of our room requests were granted by the staff. We particularly requested to check in late at past midnight because of our odd flight schedules, and Ms. Areepong was able to hold the room for us until we checked in at 2 AM. Moreover, we requested for a room on the upper floors because we heard about the noise coming from the two construction sites around the area, and we were given a room on the 12th floor, the topmost level. Also, since our flight was delayed, the reservations personnel agreed to let us check out even at 6 PM on the fourth day of our stay for a reasonable fee.

Initially, we thought that the rooms are going to be too cramped up because the hotel is quite small, but we were surprised to have found out that the rooms are fairly spacious. I assure you that you're getting more than your money's worth for the quality of rooms here. They are not only huge, they're also modern, well-maintained, and spotless. The bed in our room may not be the most comfortable I have slept in, but the hotel has very nice linens and down pillows to compensate for this.

There's plenty of natural light inside the room because of the big windows. However, one problem we had was with the view outside the room. We really enjoyed the sight of the very nice pool from our window, but we were aghast to have seen the construction across the hotel in full swing. I can imagine this view to be better when the building is already completed, but from the 12th floor, it was really a bit unsightly, being in its early phases of erection. Nonetheless, the room, being in the upper floors, was free from construction noise.

The location of this hotel is also perfect. It is close enough to the city center yet far enough from traffic and the noise on Sukhumvit. It's also a short five-minute walk from Asok BTS, which makes travelling around really convenient. There's also a 7-eleven branch nearby and it's a couple of blocks away from Cabbages & Condoms. There's also a small grocery store just across the hotel, where you can buy some food and other stuff.

Apart from this, the hotel offers one of the best breakfast buffets I've had in a hotel of this caliber. They have the same stuff served every day (except for the Asian selections which seem to change every now and then) but albeit repetitive, we always make it a point to have breakfast in the hotel even if that means having to wake up really early to do so. They have really well-done dishes here and the service was just superb. I particularly enjoyed eating bowlfuls of their strawberry yogurt and fruit toppings, but all other selections I've tried were really good.

Overall, I had a really memorable stay with Ramada, and I will most definitely stay here a second time when I come back to visit Bangkok again.

I love the Ramada - this is my second stay in 12 months. Simon the General Manager and his wonderful staff make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door.
Especially love the pool and garden area it's such an oasis in such a busy town. Food was fantastic as was my room and the bed and pillows were magic.
Thank you Ramada❤️

Reception staff helpful and polite, breakfast delicious. Beautiful garden, good pool. Room was cleaned every day. Location really good, Sukhumwit was just at hand, nice place to walk at night. Recommend to everybody.

Room Tip: We were on floor 11 and it was really peaceful and quiet there.

We stayed for 2 nights in an executive suite which was both spacious and comfortable. We were on the 11th floor with a nice view out over a nearby park with a large lake. The room had a separate sitting area with 42 inch TV and a dining table with 4 chairs that was ideal for bringing back street food to enjoy in the room. The kitchen had a full sized fridge freezer, electric hob and microwave but it would have been convenient to have a washer/dryer like some other suites or serviced apartments in the city. Our suite had an adjoining door and, as I always find, the soundproofing between rooms was poor. Thankfully we had peace and quiet at night and slept well in the good quality bed linen but if we had a noisy neighbour in the adjoining room it would have been a real nuisance. The bathroom had a large rain shower and a small separate bath tub. Toiletries were cheap and nasty and there was insufficient shower gel in the tiny sachets. There was also no washing up liquid, sponge or towel in the kitchen.

Breakfast was generally good but I would have preferred higher quality pastries and a good selection of quality cheeses and meats. My wife really liked the Asian choices and service was very good. We didn't have any other meals at the hotel. The reception area itself is quite low key and some other aspects of the hotel have a bit of a low budget feel for a 4 star but the staff were very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay.

The location is decent, tucked away down a quiet street but only a short walk away from Asok sky train station and the complimentary tuk tuk service to the end of the road is a nice touch. The pool area is attractive but the nearby construction work is very noisy. Direct sunlight is largely obstructed by tall buildings so it's not ideal for sunbathing but there's so much going on in the city most guests will be out all day and have little need for the facilities anyway.

For the money it's a good choice, not outstanding, but I would consider staying again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to an executive suite if you want more space

Good escape from Bangkok city jungle. Staff were okay. Pool is freezing and large adjacent construction makes using the pool area impossible. Room was clean and cleaned daily. It is in a decent area next to the subway (MRT) and sky train (BRT). Be careful of the taxis in front of the hotel that will bring you to scam locations if you are not aware.
